The PS3 does currently have 100% backwards compatibility with ALL original PS(one) games whereas the 360 has selected games which can be played from the original xbox.
For those of us with a original 60gig PS3, we STILL have full backwards compatability with both PS1 and PS2 games, after 4 years how many original 360's do you think are still running?
Yes, I was saddened when Sony removed the Other OS support, but think about it for more than a microse...
A lot of people forget that exact point. These are not standard 3.5inch hard drives these consols use, but 2.5inch notebook drives. Back in 2005 and 2006, 75gig and 120gig were kings of space and cost a pretty penny. Of course MS is going to choose to include a 20gig drive. Of course it is a shame they also only give you access to 12gig of that space (that is the sad part of the deal).
As for the price of the PS3 at launch, there have been many who answered with the fea...
Right because when the PS3 came out, EVERY other console were already using a media capable of holding 50gb of information and a Cell processor which is still putting some supercomputers to shame. Yeah, the PS3 is not next gen at all! Oh and built in wireless from day one. Oh and HDMI output from day one.

It still suprises me that everyone gets that wrong. It states in the manual how to open the controller to swap out the battery if/when it goes bad. Just like the HDD, everyone said swaping out the drive would void the warranty, yet, right there in the manual is a step by step how too.
You are such a tool
Yes, the silver is free, but look at everything you loose by going with a silver acct. All the games you purchased like gears of war and burnout paradise...guess what, no online multiplayer for you! You just lost 1/2 the game. That x-game chat you so purpossly brought up, yeah that is out the window too...bye bye! Want to sent a group of your friends a message, oh, so sorry, only one at a time, well that sucks.
But I will agree wit...
But I think I was most excited when the Sega Genesis was released with the arcade game "altered beast". From there came the PS1 -> PS2 -> PS3. The PS3 was a mixed bag. I was so excited because of the new format (BD) being into my late 30's by this time, and having amassed a collection of movies, I knew immediatly I had to have one...Then it was delayed and Gears of war was released so I got the 360 for that game alone. Finally got the PS3 and have been very happy with ...
I can't get past those stupid challange rooms!
I fail. :(
Big time! Those are some (at my level of gaming) impossible trophies to get!
Well those and the God of War series:
God of War = 82%
God of War II = 55%
God of War III = 51%
While I have multiple plats:
inFamous
Burnout Paradise
Dead Space
Linger in Shadows (not realy platinum, but 100% completion)
Uncharted-DF
I think the lists on both systems absolutly add to the gaming experiance...both positivly and negativly.
On the plus side, they force you to play the game looking at every crack and crevis and seeing the game for all the hard work the developers put into it. Otherw...
R&C: TOD was a great game. I even purchased and liked Haze (despite its low review scores). Oh, and I liked the dragon fighting game with the original six axis controlls (although the name of the game currently escapes me)
is Marcus is the mouthpiece for the PSP.
Being a new PS3 owner, you may or may not know this, but many of the PS3's games are over 20gig. Which warrents the PS3 haveing that BD drive. In fact, there are a couple of games (not movies) for the PS3 that have required the 50gig dual layer blue ray disk to hold the games data. Why if I recall correctly, there was even one game that the developer could not put all the language files on even the 50gig disk. That same game used 3 disks on the 360 and were heavily compressed. But yo...
So you didn't read IGN's review then...

"At several points the avatars would move before the actors did, ruining the illusion of a real live demo of Kinect. This body-synch debacle makes Milli Vanilli's legendary lip-synch outrage look tame by comparison."

you know coojo is right, don't you? I mean come on, with the 360 you can play HALO and HALO 2 and HALO 2.5 and HALO ODST and HALO ... oh.
When a PS3 happens to get the YLOD or whatever, it is at the numbers of a regular piece of electronic hardware failing. Anything with electronics have a % of failure rate which is termed "acceptable". Lets face it, if your flat screen TV gets a dead pixel, or the CCFL dies during its life span, you wouldn't throw a fit. But when a console has a higher chance of failing in 3 years than working, yes, that is a problem.
Yes, I would buy another PS3 because I k...
Everyone and their brother were writing "the PS3 is doomed" articles for the first two years of the systems life.
...too expensive
...poor port releases

It seemed like the hip and now thing to do in '08 and '09 was to bash Sony and their new system.

That has to touch a nerve or two...
states the 360 version was going to be 3 disks but has been compressed into 2.
"There was also some question as to how many DVDs the Xbox 360 version will ship on; two or three. iD has now managed to cram the game onto just two DVDs, but whether this has had any negative effect on the game at all is currently unknown. RAGE releases for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC next year."
Oh, you were being sarcastic...sorry, my buddy in the next cubical is using my sarcasim detector...he sat on his.
thank you very much.
I might have nibbled at this for $10.00 a year, but per month, no thanks...
$50.00 for XBL gold
$50.00 for PSN+
$120.00 for HuLu with advertising
