If, and I stress the if, you truly owned a PS3, you would know only two conversions were bad, Madden Football, and COD3. Both 1st gen games. The rest have either been identical or very close to the 360 version.
I also agree that the removal of the emotion chip which handled the backwards compatibility is indeed a loss, but to think that Sony hasn't/doesn't have a emulator in the works would be short sighted. At this point, I would think it would be no different than the 360 using game specific emulation which is why some xbox games will not play on the 360. The same will become true with the PS3. Many older games will work, some will not. At least that is what I hope.

I happen to own both the PS3 and a 360 (well two actually, purchased a prem in Nov of 06, and sold that to my stepson and just acquired a Elite 360). And I firmly belive that untill you have BOTH systems, you should not make one comment towards the unit you do not own!
