The last thing we need is to have a firmware update that bricks systems (ie 360 first year out).
Give us stable firmware updates we are accustomed to. It may have been branded the "delaystation", but I will take a delay over a bricked system anyday.

My wife bought the Harry Potter series and you can see all the fishing line they used to suspend all the candles. I saw that and just started laughing.
That totaly ruined the experiance, still a great movie, but now whenever she pops that movie in and it gets to that point, all I see is the wires holding the candles.
R&C is an ok game, a bit over rated, I mean don't you think it had too much variety? (Silly Gamespot reference)
On a more serious note, Sev, that is truly a great writeup for the system, everything you wrote down you hit on the mark. I would not only add R&C to the list of must have's, but I would also suggest Burnout Paradise as a highly recommended title.
On the 360:
I will say Gears of War, multiplayer with the friends, started about 10am and finaly stopped around 2am the next morning.
Mass Effect, another all day session starting at 7am and ending around 11pm that same day
Bioshock, stated around noon and didn't stop untill 9am the next morning. (that was freaky playing that game that late in the dark)
On the PS3:
Army of Two, started at 9pm and played through twice (once on normal ...
"But DVD showed signs of growing the first month of year three.
Blu-Ray sells have remained stagnant."
So by your own posting, It took DVD three years to start moving product, yet we are only midway into year two for Blu-Ray, and you are trying to convince us that BD is already a dead format because it is not overselling the DVD format? OK, I see your logic, it out in left field, but I do see your logic. Quick question, lets go back four years in time, a time...

Great stereo, 7.1 digital surround, comes with the USB wireless connector so you can listen on the stereo what is playing on your PC (very cool) and I have the PS3 connecting with a fiber connection to my PS3. The short side of this model is you can not rename the inputs. But still a very nice receiver for a co...
This isn't about full widespread adoption by everyone in the world. It takes time for a new technology to become adopted. Did you even read the article everyone is commenting on? More to the point, did you understand it?
As I said, everyone and their brother are writting articles about the doom of BD, much like the "analists" were writing the PS3 off not more that a year ago. And as I stated, in the middle of all of these articles and analists saying BD will die a...
But you bring up a very good point about the Plazma TV's. Anyone remember when they first came out and were between $12,000 and $16,000 US dollars? Anyone? Anyone? No one would touch them with a 10ft pole, now they are under $3000 and people are buying them left and right.
It is a simple process, first comes the technology, then the adoption rate slowly follows. It is proven over and over every time something new comes out and I am supprised that some of you find this so h...
You are 100% correct. Untill the prices for the BD drives get into the $100 - $250 range, there will not be a wide adoption for the format. But there is one thing I will dissagree with you on.
While you are correct in many of the "normal" people will not purchase a gaming system to watch BD movies on, these parents of ours do have children which are smart enough to tell them about BD and why they should look into it. Those same children may be old enough to have ch...
I was just thinking as I was reading the article that it is hard to beleive with so many articles saying BD is a flop, no one is jumping onto the wagon, that it is already a dead format in the wake of Digital Downloads, but this is a manufacture of the pressing equipment which states...

You must have forgotten that the PS3 allows full use of a keyboard and mouse for controll, UT3 for instance implemented such controll and allowed you to filter game selection to just controller, just keyboard/mouse, or both.
ps, you can stop jumping up and down waving your arms in the air trying to put a negative spin on anything PS3. You will not prevent anyone from purchasing a PS3 or even this game.
Later
the PS2 does support widescreen displays, start the system without a disc and go to the option menu. As for the next gen statement, I have a HDTV and love the quality of the 360 and the PS3. While I do own one of the original 60gig PS3's, I have only played a couple of my old PS2 games on it. The games I once loved to play on the PS2, no longer hold intrest. It is like getting a Playstation for Christmas, playing it for a month, then being forced to go back to a Atari 2600!
"Would you kindly..."
That was great, I was only able to play through it once, and yeah, I harvested the girls..."He's the one that hurts us!" I miss this game. A friend borrowed and his little sister trashed the disc. He paid me for it, but I never re-purchased it. I am thinking this is a great addition to my PS3 library...looking forward to it.
Playing this game on the 360 with surround sound was freeky, all the little noises behind you...
So true...so true!
I agree with ya there whole-heartdly. I never understood why if your tv could not display a perticular res that the PS3 would drop all the way down to 640, however, it is my understanding that they fixed that issue with one of the firmware updates. Am I mistaken?
The 360 can not do native 1080p. The 1080p option was included 3 firmware updates ago through upscalling. Sorry. Furthermore, the 360's 1080p res has trouble displaying on some 1080p HDTV's through the included componenet cable. The best res the 360 can do nativly is 1080i. With the HDMI connection included on newer 360's the display issue has been resolved, but it is still not native, it is upscalled 1080i to 1080p.
The PS3 does have a hardware scaller. End of story. Bu...

Don't worry about the negativity being slung your way Sev, it is nice to have someone with a finger on the pulse of info to feed to us. Keep up the good work and don't let the haters of anything Sony drive you away! Some of us respect the info you give us and understand the way in which it was given.
