Stellar blade anyone?…anyone? That game is the queen of holding your hand. Or maybe people just forgot about that game.
@crimsonidol
Yes, they are expensive. Looking at reviews is fine but, its very easy for perception to get skewed because they will typically only give a snapshot of certain aspects, and present them independently in short form. There are so many games that I have seen countless reviews, and playing the game was still a different experience for me when I got my hands on it, for better or worse. Black myth, starfield, Star wars outlaws, etc. But Im not here to tell people how...
Not necessarily. Thats just one persons word. Its different for everyone.
Thts not what was said in their 2023 top games of the year video. They said we and our top picks. And starfield was number 2. In other words, they came to a consensus. I am assuming the same thing here
I said, super seriously. People are legitimately allowing people to decide for them if they should buy the game or not, and are making judgments, soley off of reviews. The IgN reviews shouldn’t be taken super seriously either. Saying Im going to buy this game because they gave it a 9/10 is just as bad
Keep in mind they gave starfield a 9-10/10. Not starting a flame war, just showing how we cant take these reviews over the top serious as perspective is a heck of thing.
This game is not on rails. It is quite similar in many regards to say, God of war. There certainly is a way the game is higher than a 7. People screamed at inquisition for not being focused enough, and now we scream at veilguard for being focused. We gotta make up our minds people.
Spoilers aside for onlookers, I noticed that too just now. Pretty grizzly stuff, almost surpassing even origins with how twisted it is Goes to show that people are focusing on very specific things in the game to skew perspective. A shame.
Whelp, BG3 exists. Master yourselves people. If things arent going our way, there is a way to handle it without negatively effecting others or ourselves. Larian has done a excellent job with the turn base combat, and may have well surpassed bioware in that regard. Not every game is for everyone, and thats okay. I think…
Doesnt matter. Its like those classmates in middle and highschool cracking jokes on each other: they will find something, anything to attack. Hairline, shoe laces, eye color, doesnt matter, they will find it. Same thing the common gaming audience. They didnt get on resi 4 or dmc 5 for being able to pay for in game content, but lets jump dragons dogma for doing the exact same thing? We didnt get on god of war for being narrstive focused and having action heavy combat, but lets jump dragon age...
People must unlock themselves from being shackled by narrow perspective. Simply because it is dragon age, the traits in this game, that are shared in alot of championed games, all of a sudden are bad traits. Simply because the name is dragon age. People really dont see how much of the “problem “ comes from within us ourselves.
It doesnt have to do with approval disproval. Its showing how mad the audience is. It’s something to take note of, and can be helpful for self reflection
What scale are people using to define a good game? Its just a scale, created by the supposedly fallible. There are other scales that can be used.
True. People have to remember that a reviewers personal thoughts are bot gospel. Their are an infinite number of variables that can affect a persons outlook on a game: were they in the mood for this type of game, were they having a bad week and agitated, are they experiencing fatigue of this type of game? Do they even like medieval based rpgs? Are they after a bag and dont want to piss off an audience of ravenous pirahnas, the hand that feeds them? Etc.
Lmao. It was hyperbolic. Of course he is going to recommend some game I like. But the ones I really really, really like, its 90% of the time a hard pass for him.
@christopher
Well said. In fact, that is exactly what I just posted before even seeing your post. Im saying this with love: People are ignorant of their own blindness. I get that people want their dragon age origins, but we cant celebrate other games for executing something, and then doo doo on dragon age for executing(pretty well I think) the dame traits that those celebrated fames possess.
@meteorpanda
Elden ring? Souls games have the most basic, cut my arms off and blind fold me, dumb combat in a combat based game. Yet people love it. God of war reboot to some extent fits this bill as well.People are championing certain games for specific traits, and crucifying other games for doing the same stuff. Favoritism maybe?
@noskypeno
Our race is cooked. 😂
@Lordofthecritics
I do like how you go from overwhelming upvotes when saying something that can be taken as blatantly negative about the game, to getting more downvotes for just saying “I dont hate the combat”. Do you see what we are dealing with here? If you aren’t ripping the game to shreds, you get downvoted. Tunnel vision audience we tot here.
Stellar blade says sup.
