Thats the nsture of subjectivity. You found the characters boring, I found them more appealing than BG3 cast. The combat for you was not good, for me it was very engaging.

Yes, alot of what goes on is what I call gamer politics. People laud what they want to laud, even if it isnt warranted. And they will hate what they want to hate, even if it isnt warranted. The fact that Veilguard has replaced Starfield somewhat as the new game for creators to grift off of is quite telling though. It is a very discussed game.
What success? Maybe solid critical reception? Maybe having got out of the decade long struggle that they have been in. Just a guess.
Besides tasdh, I like the characters here better than BG3 cast. The writing isnt that bad, outside of a few cringe moments, which BG3 also had. There are choices, and someone does not seem to know what repetitive gameplay is.

At least outlaws is up there. They are so afraid of ruffling feathers that they snubbed veilguard out almost completely. Veilguard is definitely a solid game.

I find souls games in general overrated. Sekiro is their only game I could understand getting its acclaimed, but ai guess people really find joy in overbearing punishment in a game.
Please remove shadow of the erstree and put something else up there. I can see if the year was dry, bit there are plenty of other titles that can fill that void.

Yeah, people complaining about the combat being a mash fest are not thinking. On normal difficulty, I mashed my way through Origins, 2, and Inquisition. I even mashed my way through the witcher, so the “its not tactical” argument, and then comparing it to other “great” rpgs doesnt fly.I want them to crank it up to nightmare and then tell me how much mashing there is.
