Whatever the price, it doesn't mean it's a bad game. The same is true the otherway around. Just because a game is free doesn't make it a good game.
Returnal is shaping up to be a really good game. If you buy it now or later, it doesn't take away from that fact.
Yep, I was also surprised when I read that headline and saw that it was from Kotaku. I guess the game must really be good.
I'm so not watch 45 mnuites of gameplay. I've already seen to much and know too much about this game/. I got my pre-order locked don and I'm reafy to xrash land on Atropos next week :)
This is great to hear. I think this has been the concern that most peope have had interms of HouseMarque's pedigree in the rogure like genre and the price point. I don; tthink Sony would have made this a Playstatino Studio's title, if they were'nt confident that it would be able to stand as a AAA title.
Same here, I'm trying to avoid spoilers, and I've already seen too much. Not long to go now though.
I don't think it has. It has passive multiplayer though, similar to the "other player deaths blood stain" in the Souls games.
Well let's see what they do after Returnal sales figures come in. They've taken a risk with Houseque by making Returnal a Playstation Studios title. But I hope they continue to support it, not like with Days Gone where they refused to green light a sequel.
Bring back Dead Space I say. I don't think Returnal is being pitched as a horror/scary title though... or maybe it's just me.
🤣
That's the problem with arbitrary review scores. I have many games that are 70-75 on metacritic that I love and have spent hours on. As I'm typing this I'm playing Spac Hulk Tactics. A game that I've spent countless hours on and really love playing, especially while I watch youtube or whatever. The game got a 68 on metacritic. I'm so glad I didn't ;et that stop me gettgin the game in the first place.
Well let's hope the game gets supported, but the community. Already the narrative seems to revolve more around the price of the game - which is a real shame, because the devs needs to be supported, especially when it's to do with new original IP's.
My thoughts exactly. I can imagine that if Returnal doesn't hit some pre-determined sales milestone. Sony will simply pull the plug on HouseMarquee - which would be a crying shame. I at least will be there day 1.
My sentiments exactly. I think they are marketing this way too soon. I'm intersted in this game, as I loved Doom eternal, and I can see soo much of it's "influence" in this game. But yeah, it could fall off my radar pretty quick if the marketing dries up way before the game releases..
Yep, especially those of us that are still holding out for a VR version of The Village.
Not long to go now. I'm goign relly take my time and enjoy this game. I hope it has longevity and lots of replay value. Might be my first PS5 platinum trophy judging by the recently released trophy lists.
Talk about judging a book by it's cover. How about we just wait and see. I've played alot of House Marque games, and this is by far the most ambitious, and the most innovative title that they have done. So there's that.
Dead Nation is a classic, Definately one of their best games.
They've release a steady stream of trailers since it was announced, heck we seem to be gettign a new trailer every few weeks now.
You might not be hyped for this because as you say - it's not your jam. But go into the comments section of trailers and you'll see thousands that are super hyped for this game.
Oooh, you have my attention. I absolutely loved Oxenfree, need to complete my second play through actually.
Ahh.. my backlog.
Or Alienation, one of HouseMarques previous classics. Some very clear analogues to Returnal there.
