This is not so much an "open letter to CD Project Red" as much as it is just another article restating what many others have already said about the situation. You should be innovative and write a proper "open letter" to CDPR.
You start with something like- Dear CDPR, I felt the need to reach out to you and share how your handling of the release of The Most Anticipated Game in recent memory has caused irrepairable damage to your reputation, and signifca...
I guess it turns out that an open door refund policy is not their preferred busines model either. Who knew.
CDPR royally sht the bed with this game.
It's 2020, what did you expect. A fitting end to a fcukd up year.
It just goes from bad to worse for CDPR. I can't see their stock going up anytime soon.
Sounds like CDPR don't like the taste of their own medicine. Serves you right for trying to scam your customers with a broken game.
Hold up.
The game was not broken in any way. That's just factually incorrect. All thes reviews are still up, not one of them complained about a broken game.
The game did look like the footage before release - that was not the issue either. Again the original reviews are still up, go get your facts straight.
Sean Murrya did lie. And yes, featires promised where not there at launch.
But at launch you had a fully fu...
^^This. I just can't get my head around why they would take this course of action - while being fully aware of the state of the game? What exactly did they think would happen? It just smaks of hubris, and I'm glad they got shot right back down to the ground for this mess.
"Games play best on XboxOne"
The Launch of No Man's Sky really was not "botched". It was just that the gameplay loop was shallow.
Cyberpunk 2077??? Well, "botched" isn't the right word either....
They don't need to role-play Corpo so hard. Arasaka would be jealous.
😅
That was always the intention, but I don' think the hardware back then could realise the full vision. Hopefully 2nd times a charm - especially as we have 'next'-next gen consoles now as compare tot eh PS3 era.
It would be interesting to hear how MS have decided to deal with CDPR imposed refnd policy - especially given teh marketing deal. I was actually surprised to still see Xbox ads come up for Cyberpunk with the tag line an all. It really made me laugh. I would have thought they would have at least pulled all advertising for this game until it got fixed. I'm sure the last thing MS want is to spend money advertising a game, only for people to have an open door refund policy.
Dude they have to start somehwhere. So why not with the clusterfcuk that is Cyberpunk2077?
Yes Cyberounk2077 IS worse than Life of Black Tiger. 8 years of false advertising, and also an open door refund policy that CDPR instigated without Sony's approval. LoBT devs never did anything like that.
^^Exactly this. The fact that CDPR are now actually loosing some of that pre-order money is the kick in the teeth that they need to get their act together asap. And I think it's a great precident on Sony's part to hold devs to a higher QA standard.
It was a brilliant game. Interestingly, it also had a disastrous launch if I remember correctly, (I think it was to do with microtransaction and launch DLC component etc). But yeah, they should definately reboot it.
You know what they say, "Fool me once..."
I think the next time CDPR tries to submit the game for certification Sony should get the sniffer dogs out. 😅
That made me laugh so hard. 🤣🤣🤣
I know they're desperatre for exclusives, but I don't think they are THAT desperate. 😂
Yeah, and Sony won't keep a game up on the network where a publisher has said that anyone who wants can get a refund, because the game is so completely broken.
@ Dwarrior
Most of the games you listed did not have a worse launch than Cyberpunk 2077. They had major issues, I give you that. But the majority of those games were not completely broken at launch. Plus none of those games were as anticipated and as overhyped as Cyberpunk.
Funny though, I remember the launch of Tomb Raider Angel of Darkness. I remember playing that game and was just like WTF did I just buy. That game practically killed the Tomb Raider f...
Sony should definitely make Astro Bot their Mascot for this generation. But yeah it would be great to see how the implementation of haptics develops and evolves in games going forward. Here's hoping Sony combine haptics with HD VR - and we'll be one step closer to total immersion in games.
