1) You're basing that on what you 'assume'. It is after all, just a PC. There is no reason why you couldn't upgrade, Valve are just giving the option to mass produce these so that they can be cheaper and reach a large market of people who don't want to pay as much for their own custom PC.
2) Yes. That is the point, see point one.
3) Again, it is just a cheaper way to play PC games.
4) Spoilers: It's a PC. It has PC exc...
It's the amount of times you can post in a thread.
It's basically N4G's way to make sure that you only state the popular opinion of the topic, because if you state your own opinion you will lose the privilege to post more in a single thread.
I'd say if you can afford a 15k computer you're probably pretty loaded, and I think most women love money.
PS+ isn't to bad. I returned to it after a few years of not paying and I got about $400 AUS worth of free games in the first few days (transition of both months), which is pretty damn good for the $70 I paid for the year.
There is no doubt that steam is far superior when it comes to sales though, I've spent far to much on games I will most likely never play just because they were heavily discounted.
Yes, what terrible credentials, only the best (arguably) FPS of last gen. CoD4 marked the downfall of the franchise after they gained such popularity and decided to milk the franchise whilst simultaneously adding features that destroyed the game.
If you read the thread it's already been stated a lot. They developed using DirectX on PC, they develop using DirectX on Xbox, they do not develop using DirectX on PS4.
Is it clear to you now? They didn't say it was 'hard', just 'more complicated', presumably since they have to learn extra to make it on PS4.
It tells me that your a dumbass for not researching a product before you buy it. How can you be 'turned' when it has been known info about what has been coming out for months now? Why did you even buy it, knowing that there were no games you were going to play? Did you expect Sony to magically bring out all their big exclusives?
Why not? You get better performance from Linux, and you also put your hardware resources to better use. Windows uses massive amounts of RAM just for the OS, and contains way to many backgrounds processes. And let's not forget how bad MS is doing with Windows 8, as well as the fact that OpenGL is making a massive comeback thanks to all the devices that aren't running MS products now.
If I had the option for 40FPS on Windows, or 60FPS on Linux for the same game, guess w...
Gears of Wars graphics were insane when the game first came out, it wasn't until Uncharted came out that a game finally looked better on consoles.
Yeah, gamers sure taught Blizzard that lesson with all the bitching about Diablo 3 on PC! Just like when everyone voted with their wallets and destroyed EA and Activision!
Minority doesn't mean much to billion dollar companies these days, and people will continue to buy stuff regardless of their policy.
No idea where they got that number, only google result is the same article. The only info on sales that is recent is minecraft hitting 33 million sales, and that's from September.
... Of course there is a limitation on the CPU. There's a limitation on all hardware, otherwise people would still be using the same CPU from decades ago.
There was no mention on a bottleneck, and code optimisation can drastically increase performance which is what kiz2694 is talking about.
"Digital Foundry also states that the higher resolution of the PS4 version can lead to some frame drops, falling to 40FPS when under heavy stress, but mostly sticking between 50 and 60FPS."
This has nothing to do with the console, and more to do with the devs being totally retarded.
It's game programming 101 to not do per clock cycle updates for things like movement.
If anything consoles should be a reason NOT to do this, when the framerate drops it will give a slow motion effect due to the car not moving at a consistent speed.
@OCEANGROWNKUSH
Time to work on your basic times table and fractions by the looks of it.
The thing with that is it is a two way street. There may be a few people trying to bring the votes down, but go look at the people who rated it high (a massive amount compared to the negative trolls). Most have two or three games rated, of which Knack and Killzone have 10s. It really isn't a good way to tell, at least the press reviews aren't skewed as much.
It still doesn't change the fact that it's just an opinion, if you really want to know for sure you hav...
Yep, way more zombie games than first person shooters, am I right?!!!
If you're bitching about framerate and resolution I hope you are gaming on PC.
Also, wasn't it console fanboys that were all saying "it's about gameplay not graphics" a few months ago whenever a PC gamer would come into a conversation? What changed?
Isn't this months old? Or did she dress up again?
I'm not sure what you're trying to prove with WoW. It makes more revenue per year than any console game.
I will say, the one thing that consoles did successfully kick off was paid DLC, though that's hardly a good thing.
