To be fair 'broadband' doesn't make people around the world, such as Australia, connect to Americans good. So in a way it is unfair unless you are playing with people from the same country.
I have also connected to PSN with a 56Kb/s connection, so hardly needs broadband in the first place.

The whole point of a console is because it ISN'T a PC. People don't want to have to pay for upgrades to continue playing. Isn't that why all the console fanboys cry about PC?
To be fair, at a time like this, it probably is a big deal for Valve. They would be having the entire team trying to get Portal 2 finished with everything working, and trying to get it to run bug free. For them to take people off that team to go back and fix their port of Portal so it doesn't bug, then add trophies, then make sure those trophies unlock properly, would be a HUGE punch to Valve's balls right now.

Dedicated servers means just that. They are servers that are dedicated to hosting matches. They aren't some 14 year old who is playing CoD as well as hosting, blasting music from youtube while streaming porn. There were ways to bypass shit and connect to PSN with 3.55, so it was pointless updating to the newer firmware that did nothing.
I can guarantee they will attempt to hack it, and so they should. If they bought their PS3 with the advertised features of OtherOS, gaming AND PSN, they should be allowed to have it, provided they don't cheat anything on PSN.

I'm sorry, but how the hell did you decide PC gaming was dead? Because it doesn't sell as much of the same title as Xbox? Everyone on Xbox will buy a game if it has GTA, Halo or CoD in it's name. A majority of gamers on console will play those games. You don't play any PC games do you? Every game is hackable, and easy to hack. Almost all servers have security. And in servers there are usually a few admins who click on the persons name and remove them from the game. I can guarantee that even if they hack this game in the first few days, there will not be any hackers found online. Go look at CoD on PC. I have NEVER seen a hacker on that, can't say the same about PS3 and Xbox360 where I have seen multiple hacks.

I don't think you understand the difference between 30 and 60 frames.
Look at it like this, 60 frames would mean it would have to render everything twice as fast. So let's just pretend that it uses twice the amount of 'power'. Killzone wouldn't be using ALL of the 'power', but wouldn't have much left over. They certainly wouldn't be able to double it.

Maybe the PS3 shouldn't be counted as a console because it can do other stuff than just game?
Gameboys are classified as 'hand held' consoles, so why not smartphones? Because they can do more than just play games?
