Wow, a game from 10 years ago doesn't look the same as a game today? This is amazing. Have you considered writing that comment as a blog and posting it to N4G as a proper submission for all to read?

I just wanted to point out that this proves nothing. If you look at the actual tweet with the personal information, DERPTrolling themselves retweeted it, and they are still continuing to do DDoS attacks. Even the twitter account had the guys name in the gmail, I highly doubt he would be THAT dumb to register using it.

And just because the facebook account is not available doesn't mean anything, the person would be getting so many hate threats sent to them, regardless of w...

You shouldn't post peoples private information on a public website. And if you are so certain this guy is him, how come authorities haven't caught him yet?

You're comparing research with actual products. Kinect is pretty damn good for research, but for games it is currently (and will be for a long time) crap.

DDoS are actually extremely easy.

The first step of it is done by infecting peoples computers through viruses. That virus basically sits there and awaits orders (like sending requests to an IP over and over).

The people who infected those computers then rent out these massive collections of infected computers and allow them to take 'control'. So essentially people rent out hundreds of thousands of computers from all over the world, and tell them what...

On my analogy? No. If a place only has say 10 people at a time ordering, you would only have say 2 or 3 staff responding. Just because you randomly get 1000 customers when a bunch of people decide it would be funny to crash it, you wouldn't go out and hire 300 people to constantly work every day just in case.

And steam was actually down today for quite a while.

@hellvaguy

Sony didn't offer the same product at a different price. Why should I buy the same product twice? I could understand if they wanted me to buy a license, or pay for the use of their SDK, but to purposely use proprietary connections just so I have to re-buy a product I already own is stupid.

There isn't much you can do about a DDoS. The whole point is to flood the server with more requests than it can process, that way it can't respond to proper requests from users. It really isn't a vulnerability, they aren't getting any information.

And there is no point in increasing the amount of servers. It's basically the same as 1000 people walking into a fast food place and all constantly asking for orders, you aren't going to go out and hire 300 ...

It's ridiculous that Kinect 2 can't be plugged into a PC, though I don't expect any different from Microsoft. Hopefully it doesn't take long for modders to make an adapter.

Ironic, since they just took down Steam.

Origin has failed? It was never meant to be a competitor to steam, it was an online store for EA and nothing more. It's the only way to play BF4, and Titanfall is using it, so I'm not sure where you gathered that it was failing. If anything it's succeeding because they are continuing to use it.

Stanley Parable does have an 'end'.

And what about games like Prince of Persia on PS3? You couldn't die in that, is that not a game? Are you not playing a game of Minecraft when you are in free building mode, since you cannot win or lose?

A game, by definition, is something you can play. Can you play Stanley Parable? Then it's a game. You make decisions, you have choices, reactions occur to said choices. So how isn't it a game? It's no...

Micro-transactions blossomed on consoles, that's hardly something to be thankful for.

Edit: Oh you meant Micro, as in MS. Still, consoles brought in micro-transactions which isn't good.

And your logic makes no sense anyway, if consoles pushed down the price for PC, why isn't it pushing down the price of other competitors games on rival consoles?

You need a postal address to sign up for PSN don't you? It use to be like that years ago at least. I would assume using someone else's postal address is illegal.

Oh, right, I didn't want to read the article since it seemed like flame bait. Well, yeah, that will never happen in the current generation, or even the next.

Ah yes, and it is (and will be) totally impossible to ever plug a cord into the phone to display on the TV right?

I've said it before, consoles in the near future will more than likely be something like a phone where you just plug it into the screen and sync a controller.

How many games supported it on PS3? I didn't keep up to date, but I know for years it was pretty much just Unreal Tournament 3, and I don't think many more were added.

4410d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Yeah, lets vote with our wallets, we sure taught EA and Activision all those other times we did it!!!

You know why the developers are doing it? It's because it's what people want, how do you think World of Warcraft has managed to keep MILLIONS of people paying MONTHLY? Because they provide what the majority of people want. Frequent updates and frequent changes can be made because everyone is online. Many people are moving away from the static games that are always the...

Steam isn't down because people's internet is not good enough...

What AllroundGamer is saying is the truth. It's a bottleneck from STEAMS end, they don't have the bandwidth or servers to respond to the incoming requests.

Sure Valve/MS/Sony could all handle that amount, if they wanted to. But if you average say 1 million concurrent users, you would buy enough servers for say 2 million. You don't go out and buy enough to handle 10 million fo...
