Can someone explain why Call of Duty 3 for the 360 is listed twice?
Call of Duty 3 - Xbox 360 (Activision)
Yoshi's Island 2 - NDS (Nintendo)
Call of Duty 3 - Xbox 360 (Activision)
Seems something got screwed up.
1,000,000 shipped does not mean sold as so many people have said.
Maybe Sony has sold them to retailers, but the fact is, many of the retailers have a surplus and they are not moving as fast as the Wii's or the 360's.
Does it spell doom for Sony? Not necessarily.
Does it spell success? No.
The fact is, this article is a complete waste of time and isn't worth the amount of attention it is getting.
Targeting Children? Are you kidding? First off most pornography sites require some sort of age verification (not that I would know). And while sure none are perfect and there are many easy to access materials that require no such verification..... it's primarily the job of the parent to restrict and monitor the content that their children views. Don't attack the website for trying to market their product in a way that would appeal to adult Wii users.

It's simple really... it's went against the reigning standard of: next generation = better graphics.
Many hardcore gamers are completely opposed to the Wii simply because it was designed with the intention of bringing in non-gamers to the gaming community.
The Gamecube really hurt Nintendo's image as a console developer. It is a shining example of going against common practice going completely wrong. Gamers are likely to forget that anytime soon.

Who's not calm? How can you tell my mood? They can't switch to DVD after the fact. That would be Sony saying "Oh wait... we wanted to do Blu-Ray, but we realized it wasn't necessary. We were wrong... don't buy the $600 Blu-Ray machine that can play games... by the new cheaper DVD version for $300 that can't play any of the first developed titles because they are on Blu-Ray."
It doesn't make sense. No console has ever switched media formats after release because i...
They can't offer one without Blu-ray. All of their games are Blu-Ray format. That's like saying MS should offer a 360 with HD-DVD built in or Blu-Ray built in. It makes no sense.
If I had to predict market share:
40% Sony
35% MS
25% Nintendo
Hmmm.... Call of Duty 2 is being given away free when you purchase an xbox 360 at Best Buy, they are also throwing in a $20 gift card on top of that.
I wonder if that means those items suck because they are cutting the price on them or sweetening the deal a bit with a sale?
/sarcasm
I didn't say that was the only explanation, I said it was one possible explanation.
Publishers hire analysts that evaluate their sales and how well their products are doing. If their analysts find that people feel the price point for a game is too high, they will lower the price in the hopes of sparking enough interest to overcome the price difference. It has happened in alot of cases. Games have dropped in price rapidly at times because the hope is more product will sell th...
It's not just PS3 games. I can confirm there were other games for other systems (major titles including Gears of War and Rainbow 6 Vegas) being sold for less than $60.
It was a sale, not a price cut.
This isn't a Sony is doomed thing at all. That's a ridiculous assumption to make.
The reason these prices are dropping is not because they are bad titles, or the system is bad.
If one store is doing it, it is because they are trying to draw people into their store.
If its the publisher doing it, it could be for a number of reasons.
If I sell 10 games @ $60, that's only $600 but if I find out that lowering the price to $40 might d...
The main problem I see with the community these days is that people are too quick to judge and too quick to insult. There's no reason for every argument to turn into a mud-slinging slugfest, but for some reason they always do.
True Gamer....
The point of the site is to allow people a forum for open discussion of news related to games. If people want to dicuss which system is better and why, that is what this is for. Why is it childish to disagree with someone and open up a discussion on why one disagrees? As long as people stick to facts and avoid name-calling, there's nothing wrong with it.
People are going to post their thoughts and their statistics, and others are going to post...
Nice. I don't really think it will end up being an "over-priced paperweight" but it definitely feels a bit like that right now.
I'll consider getting one in the future if it comes down enough in price and I see some good exclusives for it. At this stage, there aren't enough good exclusives, and I can't warrant spending $600 for a Blu-Ray player (which is all it would really be to me).
Simmo... man... you are hilarious..... you should make it in the next Darwin awards book.
To quote and retort:
"360 doesn't have the space enjoy your next gen disc swapping it's only going to get worse... "
Um.... I have yet to see any disc swapping for the 360. Congratulations you can make sh-t up.
To add on.... most titles are now developed for multiple systems. The biggest difference between the PS3 and the 360 obviou...
Stop bashing on countries... holy f-ing sh-t.
This isn't about America vs Japan... or Japan vs Europe... or Europe vs America... this is about gaming.
The only reason the PS3 is outselling the 360 in Japan is because the Japanese consumer is 100% loyal to Japanese products. It's their f-ing culture! It has nothing to do with which system is better.
Sony has lost all of their advantages they had with the PS2. They have lost most of their exclusiv...
$4 a month is worth it to me. I've paid $15/month to play MMORPG's on a PC. XBL gives me the same benefits for gaming that an MMORPG has and has the advantage of being alot less in cost, and cross multiple games giving it the ability to maintain interest at all times.
Sony will likely copy most of the XBL ideas. Its just a matter of time. They may try to find a way to make it free, but it seems unlikely that will last.
Why is anyone surprised? Computers are always going to be improving and beating out consoles soon after their release. Guess who designed the video cards in the consoles.... nVidia and ATI.... the 2 biggest PC graphics card developers.... so guess what... they are going to implement PC cards that are just as good or better than their console counterparts. Same thing with the processors and memory.... its just a fact of technology life.
It doesn't mean consoles suck. There...
This isn't as big of a deal as anyone is making it out to be.
So what if he imports it? He's not the only person to have done it.
There's no indication of where it was purchased or if any "influence" was used to get it. Hell, I walked into a Gamestop on Tuesday and they had 3 or 4 PS3's sitting in the back waiting to be sold without any buyers yet.
Aside from Sony being a whiny baby about importing, there's nothing here to suggest t...
MS made claims like this when the 360 was released. Now Sony is doing the same.
I do find it funny that Motorstorm isn't being released in 1080p when Sony made such a big deal out of 1080p being necessary for the next gen gaming war.
If it's such a vital component of next-gen gaming, why are so many PS3 games failing to include it?
