I'm sure that those with genuine fraud committed on their PSN account would be really pleased if Sony locked them out, pending an investigation. Can you imagine the headlines all over the internet? People would be saying that Sony punishes gamers that are victims of fraud.

If he gave his account details to a friend and they bought a game on his account then that is his own fault for sharing his login. I would never share my account with any...

Allow me the opportunity to understand.

So, if I understand you correctly.

Positive Xbox coverage = a conspiracy paid for and masterminded by Microsoft

Positive PS coverage = Well done Sony.

Right. Let me get my tinfoil hat and I'll be back to join you because that makes perfect sense......hmmm.

Agreed.

Most of the "reasons" for things that fans of a system come up with are pulled out of thin air, or just their personal preference/opinion expressed as fact, out of pure desperation to prove that their choice of platform is the best. When you own them all you can look at each side from an informed position and see just how much crap people spout to win an argument. Also, those that don't own the console that they're attacking will always massively exa...

I totally get that, I'm the same and I've never really thought about it that way but the games that I go back to are from that era too.

If I do go back to an old game it'll generally be ICO (PS2), Shadow of the Colossus (PS2), Okami (PS2), REZ (DC), Ikaruga (DC) or Katamari Damacy (PS2). Obviously most of them have been remade on 360 or PS3 but they're still the same games from that era.

Of all the games I have ever played REZ is the one that ...

Damn backlog. I've stopped buying games because of mine. The guilt is too much. Thing is, I then have a backlog of games that I intend to buy, at least they should be cheaper when I get round to buying them.

@ShiranaiJittai

XBMC stands for Xbox Media Center. It began development on the first Xbox, once people began to hack it, and has been going ever since. It is the ultimate media centre software, it beats everything else hands down. It literally has thousands of plugins for different streaming services and can be integrated with a PVR, it is also available for MAC, Windows, Android and there are Linux distributions of it.

The name has recently been changed to ...

It's good to have someone being reasonable about things. It's becoming pretty rare around here.

I don't have anything against Sony, Microsoft or Nintendo, they all make mistakes and it's admirable when they do their best to make it better and we benefit. I'm a gamer and so I'm not about to cut myself off from great experiences to fanatically support one brand, that wouldn't be very gamer like. I just wish other "Gamers" would realise that...

I think doing it just garners more hits on a non-story because the choice of language was different to before.

The headline suggests poor build quality but they actually were just talking about GDDR5 being a better choice than DDR3. Something that we heard about, repeatedly, months ago.

4056d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

Exactly, when you read the article you realise that they just meant that they consider the choice of DDR3 to be flimsy compared to GDDR5.

Nothing new but ambiguous wording.

Competition is key and it works for all of the companies that we give our money to.

To add to your comment, if Sony fanatics get their way and PlayStation is the only platform left, at that stage we may as well all line up and bend over for Sony because they'll be able to dictate prices and won't have any competition to stop them or give them an incentive to innovate. In other words, we can kiss goodbye to competitively priced software and hardware, free games on PSN ...

With there being so many of these miss-builds decreasing the rarity of such items, I'd imagine that those that have been paying high sums for them on eBay will find them considerably devalued as time goes by.

I do wish that you could turn the light off on it. Also, I wonder if the audio circuitry is active even when there isn't a headset connected. It is a very poor battery life.

My X1 and Wii U Pro controller last way longer and the X1 controller has audio as well, so maybe it IS just down to the light; either that or it's that the X1's audio circuitry is in the connector of compatible headsets and therefore doesn't drain, unless it's connected.

It's true that Microsoft isn't the publisher but they did fund Titanfall.

Their deal for Tomb Raider is more questionable, because it holds back the release on other platforms and they didn't have any financial input on development.

4059d ago 2 agree2 disagreeView comment

The primary example is on PSOne where Tomb Raider was multi platform but Sony paid to have the Tomb Raider franchise, from Tomb Raider 2 onward, as a PS exclusive until the early 2000s.

I'm sure it did exist before but that's the most blatant example that I can think of.

EDIT:

To the disagrees, and since people don't want to use Google to find out for themselves, this is from the Tomb Raider wikipedia entry:

@mikeslemonade

If they're making it for Windows PC, I don't think it would be a huge task to release on X1. I would get what you're saying if it were PS4 only.

4059d ago 3 agree5 disagreeView comment

Fair enough. :) My math was for nothing. ;)

As far as risk taking, development costs and time, we need to hope that Sony puts a lot into development tools to improve things.

When talking about the PS2 having 75 games after one year, is that referring to one year after the US release or one year after the Japanese release? It would only be fair to measure from when a console was first released in any territory since that is when development begins to ramp up.

In other words, it's an unfair comparison.

Since the PS2 released in the US 7 months after Japan that could mean that those 75 games were released at a rate of 3.94 per ...

@Der_Kommandant

Yeah, that was terrible. Thank god that Nintendo patent ended in time for this gen.

4063d ago 3 agree2 disagreeView comment

That has happened before, hasn't it?

Also, while fighting games are big in Japan in general, the SF games are huge internationally so, it would make sense to release on both consoles. If it's already being developed for PC then it can just as easily be on Xbox, so it can't be that they want to keep development costs down by sticking to one system. Something else would have to be at play if it's internationally a PS4 console exclusive.

I would...
