"I love trying a game my friend has before I decide to buy it."

There in lies it's potential un-doing. We all love playing a game our friend's own before we buy, but, after the novelty has worn off, will people still be enthused enough to keep sharing with us? The system relies on the good will of individuals that get no reward from sharing their console and games. I know that I am less than enamored with the idea of giving up my...

"Because Sony doesn't need to try to win."

If that statement is true then I may as well sell my PS4 now. If Sony is complacent over it's lead then standards will slip and prices will go up.

This will blow your mind, some people are developing NES games.

It amazes me too and I think it's fantastic. It's a wonderful thing to be able to go back to a console from your past, before you knew about how games are made, and to work out what makes these old consoles tick.

I think the the phenomenon of developing Dreamcast games continues because people feel that it never achieved it's full potential; it deserved to have more games than it did...

I'm genuinely concerned about this game now. Originally I was thinking it could go either way, due to the number of positive and negative articles being a pretty even split, but today I read a preview in Edge and they were quite scathing at times.

They were talking about poor AI, poorly timed animations, over use of QTEs and things generally being broken. They were also saying that some of the particle effects, while being beautiful, managed to hamper the gameplay by obsc...

It should be a "Don't be positive about Xbox, true or otherwise" button. That's generally what people are feeling when they click "Disagree" on N4G.

I never look at the overview, because it's just a mess of information. This is a bit more focused but I can't imagine myself looking at this either.

I suppose it's a nice feature to have but....meh.

That's just what MS wants us to think. It's all just smoke and mirrors and real gamers know it.

Hmmmmmmm.

Flame-bait articles - regardless of which console, but X1 gets more than PS4 or Wii U by a considerable margin - make me want to bash my own head in with a frying pan. I await the free-for-all that this thread is going to develop into.

"Price increase" sounds really bad, so I guess we're going with that.

To think, the people that write these articles sit there and think about how they can turn anything relating to Microsoft into a negative. The worst thing about it is that this headline will forever be referenced in the comment sections as, yet another, reason why MS is evil and retarded.

@Volkama

I've only done the first couple of levels on Bayonetta. I really need to get on top of my Wii U games. My general backlog is getting ridiculous.

I currently have to finish:

Bayonetta 2
Mario 3D World
Pikmin 3
Rayman
Mario Kart 8
Smash Bros

On X1:

GTA V
Far Cry 4
Halo: MCC
Destiny

PS4:

The Evil Within...

@Biphter

The fact that Sony didn't even include Audio CD support when the PS4 was released shows that their intentions are/were for us to only access media through streaming/subscription services, on our PS4s.

While the PS3 provided a great all-in-one box for media it didn't give Sony a way to monetize that, either directly or through 3rd parties.

"It's just PS3 days all over again."

In the PS3 days I was never particularly bothered because it was a free service and you can't really complain about something that isn't costing you a penny, being less than perfect.

Now that we are paying for it that needs to stop, fast. No system is infallible, but it does need to be reliable in general.

"Don't confuse a failed game with sales as it is not always one the same."

Correct, that goes for many products on the market. The most popular rarely equates to the best.

Also, the less choice available, for a particular genre of game, the higher the demand will be for what is available. Whether it's a great game or not, if it's the only viable option on a particular platform then it is automatically the best....

If you're in any way a fan of things Nintendo you'll absolutely love it. It's beginning to feel more like a modern Gamecube and, in my book, that's not a bad thing.

Nintendo have realised that they won't be getting 3rd party support and so they are pulling out all of the stops on their own software.

I would love for them to be rendered in HD but I highly doubt that they will be; if they were then Nintendo would be shouting it from the rooftops.

They'll simply be upscaled, just like playing the disc based Wii game on a Wii U. Shame.

I loved Mario Kart; I'm yet to pick up FH2 due to my massive backlog, which I have promised myself to get through before buying any more games, but I am absolutely certain that I will love it. I haven't bought Drive Club out of protest, because we were told we would get the plus edition and part of why I justified my PS+ subscription was because of that promise, and I'm certain that many others will have done the same.

Are people still bickering about this? I can't believe THIS is the most talked about thing on N4G right now.

Do people not realise that the fact that they are in here telling everyone how it doesn't matter and is irrelevant just makes it look as though it really, really, is a big deal.

I own an X1 and I really don't think this is that relevant but PlayStation fans have made it so.

4024d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Most people don't even know what attach rate is, or it's relevance; they really should, but I think they would still ignore it because it probably wouldn't support their agenda. Besides, comparing apples and oranges seems to be much more fun around here.

Halo 2 is massively different to the Halo 5 beta. Movement, visuals, pace etc. etc.

The only similarity is that it's in the Halo universe and the control scheme.

I take it you haven't played it or you wouldn't be making a statement like that.

I like all three and for differing reasons.

X1 has been impressive with it's features and great exclusives.

PS4 has been great for multiplat titles and, fingers crossed, will have it's own exclusives worth my money in the near future.

The one that has impressed me the most in the past year has been the Wii U. Even I was surprised at that. Everyone fights over the PS4 and X1 and completely ignores the console that has consistently deli...

"Lol for God sakes, there controllers need over the counter batteries!!!"

I see what you mean. Yes, it is rather convenient to have a choice and it is a fact. I mean, you can either use standard batteries which are available everywhere or use a play & charge kit that gives incredibly long battery life between charges.

It would be so annoying if the controller was a sealed unit, with poor life and a proprietary battery, and you had to invalidate...
