That's pretty much what I've been thinking. I've also been skeptical about mod support too. It could certainly benefit the game, but the devs don't seem that keen on it. If they have to "think" about mod support, that's usually a big red flag.

On top of that, the space flight, which doesn't look like it has any sim qualities at all, doesn't look particularly exciting to me. I want to actually deal with enteri...

I doubt it.

They aren't promising things that can't be achieved or anything. Its entirely possible to do what they want to do. Its more a matter of expectations.

I think of it like my personal opinions of Spore. I was so hyped at the creation system that I didn't even consider the rest of the game. I was really excited to create my own units in an RTS. But that RTS was so watered down that it got boring, I hated it. A similar thing happening here...

Hmmm, why aren't 'galaxies' mentioned?

My guess: (based on what's been said so far)

The focus is on generating single solar systems, with planets, life, etc., and you visit each and explore them. Actual space travel doesn't seem to be a priority.

Thing is though, they aren't saying they are making an actual galaxy. Galaxies have lots of planetary systems, but a finite amount. Multiple galaxies would make sense as the a...

I think Aiden was probably the least of the problems with the narrative. It was disjointed in places, the characters were pretty much all garbage save for one or two, and really, the entire plot was just a bloated first act.

Overall it was just messy and not well thought out.

Strategy guides are getting DLC now?!

/facepalm

Of course they are, that was the plan. Cut features out and charge for them later.

And in typical EA fashion, bask in their own benevolence about giving fans what they want.

SecuROM: So great, it'll even stop your paying customers from playing the game.

Well it read like you could go through the narrative missions but unlocking upgrades had to be done with a crew.

What expectations?

This is said often, but HL2 was a long time ago, what actual expectations can there be at this point?

About the only expectation that it couldn't meet would be to not exist.

Disagree about day one sales, the popular Early Access titles often see increased sales for major updates. Steam promotes these updates right on the front page.

I also prefer watching a game progress through development and even take suggestions. The developers for Starpoint Gemini 2 are right there like ALL the time answering questions, seriously listening to suggestions, and actually responding.

Its true that not ALL games will benefit from this process. B...

The internet, and more specifically the comments, does not represent actual life. People say horrible things here that they wouldn't say anywhere else.

I'm sorry but people who donate their time for others entertainment should be given some respect. You like what modders do for you in their free time yet you don't think they deserve the slightest amount of respect for doing that.

Pretty easy to say "man up" when you don't have to put...

Don't get all worked up about it. It means nothing and has no power at all.

Video games are not only a multi-billion dollar industry, but are considered protected speech by the Supreme Court. They aren't going anywhere, no matter what the 24-hour news networks say.

Isn't that what's happening here? He's ignoring the trolls.

Yea, its easy to ignore trolls, but constant never ending hate for something you are doing for free? People have their limits, maybe the internet should grow up.

Seriously, if I was constantly being attacked for doing people a favor, there's a point where I'd tell everyone to F off.

They delayed the game, grow up.

By not getting the game (assuming you were actually potential customer) does more harm to the "backers" than delaying the game.

So Destiny is perfect and saying otherwise, even having "slight" concerns, makes you an "entitled dbag"?

Do you get a T-shirt when you're that much of a fanboy?

Not defending the practices here, but the story needs to be updated to reflect the current state of the game.

Evidently, single player, is being put back in. There might be more changes, but its not my job to relay those facts.

Too much to ask them to provide the complete package I guess. Between pre-order crap and planned DLCs you are paying for a partial product and its only getting worse.

But enjoy you're little gifts.

Everything it did was mediocre. Save for some of the mechanics it:

1. Had an "open world" with invisible walls everywhere.

2. Had a story the was basically Fallout, and they simply forgot to and the ending part.

3. Looked great until you got close and saw how low res the textures were.

RAGE was below average. It was a tech demo, and not a very good one. There's not one thing present in that game that was a cut a...

What a strange troll post.

4259d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

You're referring to the comment that was made that sounded really dickish? Turns out that wasn't from the developers.

Since fact-checking and following up source material is a foreign concept to most gaming websites this tends to happen.

By all means, support WiiU gamers in showing 3rd party developers that the WiiU isn't worth developing for. And while your at it, hurt the original backers as well.
