I'm finding are to sympathize with a few people that got swindled into over-priced marketing junk.

Take a stand, cancel. For once I'd like to see it happen. We all know it won't though. The whining will continue until some other article.

Technically that is what CEs are, physical content locked to people who spend $150.

Pretty sure its $150.

"I remember praising them when they said that they wanted the experience to be the same for everyone."

Here's the problem, it 'is' the same for everyone. The GAME is the same. CDPR makes GAMES, not CE junk that very few are even interested in.

I guess you just can't win in this business. CDPR makes a rare stand in the industry to avoid pre-order exclusive BS and opts to deliver a full and complete GAME across all platforms, They are ...

@Rock-Lee

The cars in PCars are based on actual cars in real life. Should those cars have a variant or upgrade that will likely be an option. Allowing you to upgrade your car means they have to fudge the numbers, their goal is accuracy.

Do not expect GT, Forza, or Driveclub.

And every platform is getting the same EXACT game. That is what they were referring to, not items in a CE that the vast majority aren't going to have access to anyway.

You see how many preorder deals there are for "in game" content and Witcher 3 has none of that, at all.

CDPR is providing the same game to everyone, which is the point, the actual game.

What MS decides to do with its CE for the Xone is their business.

Would have been nice to be aware prior to releasing that 5 minute RBG ending to end an entire trilogy of story and lore.

We'll see.

When they were showing Thief in VR with Morpheus it was also on PC.

Sony wants to show off Morpheus under optimal conditions, for the sake of the device.

The games that are going to take advantage of the PS4+Morpheus are very few and Sony is still working on getting the PS4 to do VR at 100%. Sony just doesn't have the advantage of scalable hardware. Its to their credit they are even attempting VR.

At this stage, if they want to show the ...

If it were "in-game" content, that would be weird, but its just physical content in the CE, which the vast majority won't be buying anyway.

@Ezz2013

They meant "in-game" content. They made it very clear that the game would be the same (content-wise) across all platforms.

By their very nature, Collector's Editions are "exclusive" to only those who buy them.

2033, no, but Last Light, maybe, at least on PC, where it seems to have not been as heavily remastered.

"Free" is probably too far for LL, but it should definitely be discounted. Like 75% instead of 50%.

I have a completely irrational hatred of Origin. I don't like change, but I hate being forced.

EA knew what they were doing when they tried to circumvent Steam with their DLC. ME3 was the first and last game I played on Origin. As far as I'm concerned the only EA games that exist are the ones still on Steam.

That's just my opinion though, and I freely admit its petty and irrational.

GoG Galaxy is the right way to convince someon...

I agree that re-releases should be clearly marked as such or have a tab for re-released games.

Don't agree about Early Access though. There has been significant improvements among the devs who debuted on Early Access. More honest communication has been the biggest change. Early Access is slowly finding its appropriate use and the ones that are benefiting from the program are moving along.

The "75 million active users at any given time" comment may not be the right way to put it. 75 million total accounts or 75 million active accounts would be a better way to phrase it.

At any given time there are 3 to 6 million logged in to Steam.

Livery and tuning will be customizable.

My guess is it will be something similar to Assetto Corsa, which has tons of tuning options and different variants of certain cars.

These cars are modeled on real life counterparts, so having the ability to throw different parts in/on negates all that. They are going for accuracy, that's the goal at least.

@DuneBuggy

That is exactly what it means. The "deal" has a "duration", We don't "own" the franchise. Franchise, as a term, encompasses all the games.

Once that "duration" ends, SE can do what it pleases. If it pleases them to stay on Xbox only, so be it.

They may not release it on PS4, but I have a hard time believing they would just ignore a potential source of revenue for no reason.

4186d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

@ChubbyLover

They never said explicitly that it was coming to the PS4. But they made it clear that SE still has the rights to do what it wants with the franchise.

Basically MS and SE were/are being intentionally vague about the terms in order to give the impression that TR is only going to be available on the Xone.

So its highly unlikely that SE would not sell TR on the PS4 once that "duration" is over.

How can you prefer something that doesn't exist?

I get the dislike of procedural generation in many applications, but I'm fairly certain its near impossible to "hand-craft" a single planet at anything close to 1:1 scale, let alone multiple planets.

Dungeons and quests are one thing, 1:1 planet/planets is something entirely different.

I like hand crafted game worlds as well, but for this game, its literally not possible.

4186d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

The real key to this game is the way in which they are generating the content based on known science.

How the planets are generated is based on what we know of exo-planets. For example, the type of star will determine the "habitable zone" and a planet's position in that zone determines what is on it.

The surfaces of the planets will be unique geographically. Also the elements that exist on those planets will determine its looks as well. Titan h...

In everything I've read it sounds like Sony isn't going to risk selling their HMD at a loss, so it might be more expensive in the beginning. HOWEVER, they might also be waiting for the Rift to debut and generate a high enough demand so they can do that.

For Sony games are likely to be first party and some indies. Their VR games are going to have to be specifically designed to run on the PS4 at a high frame rate/low latency.

As for the type of games, ...
