So the only reason a developer of a game (still in development) might have to lower some of the visual settings of said game (their first on this console and largest game by far to date) is because Microsoft paid them?

I think I have some aluminium foil based headgear I can give you.

AMD GPUs can run Hairworks, its not limited to Nvidia GPUs.

DK2 was $350 and they are aiming for lower than that for the CV1.

They already sold 60,000 with 20,000 shipped and that's just the dev kit.

The key difference between the 2 HMDs is one is a known quantity and the other isn't, yet.

There is no indication about what Morpheus is going to cost. In fact there's very little information about their future plans for the device, hence the concern at OVR.

I haven't played it but I've heard nothing but great things about Divinity, it deserves to be a contender.

Apparently Destiny already won GOTY, so that maybe why you are getting disagrees.

If Sony fails it will hurt OVR and vice versa.

OVR has the funding to get VR out there and generate mass interest, its their ONLY priority. Sony has several hardware related priorities to deal with and can't drop support for everything but Morpheus.

OVR has to generate the excitement and Sony has to make an HMD console gamers are willing to buy.

Sony's role in this is to have a console HMD that sells and convinces a large segment of ...

Technically you don't "need" to read the books as Geralt has amnesia from the start.

Its certainly recommended as they are good and there are references to the books, but they aren't a requirement.

I'd say playing the first game is much more important.

Also, there are currently 3 out of 5 books in the main saga translated in to English(maybe the UK has them all?) plus The Last Wish.

1. The Last Wish (col...

That was my thoughts as well, but going back over the list I really couldn't find a game to replace.

It was a solid list covering all of the various sub-genres.

My guess is its directional, and the torch is more omni.

EDIT: Also the flashlight seems to be attached to the gun and you can't carry the gun and gas can at the same time.

Yea ubersampling was a killer and I saw next to no difference with it. I'm guessing this will have something similar.

They'll just do what they've done in the past, fix the game.

One should not expect a perfect launch of this game. If you are, don't, just expect a mess to avoid disappointment.

This is their 3rd game and its the first time consoles are getting a debut of the game, IT WILL NOT BE PERFECT DAY ONE.

They will support the hell out of the game and make sure it gets fixed, but CDPR doesn't have perfect launches.

Just...

Ha Ha, that pretty much confirms it. Releasing a content free game.

Its been a LONG time since I've had to manually patch a game. I'm actually getting nostalgic, that's how LONG ago that was.

4231d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

What's so funny about your comment is it completely ignores reality.

But Sony wasn't hailed as gaming's savior so the the butt-hurt is understandable.

Except that's not true, at all.

Pretty sure the ~30,000 DK2s already sold aren't being used for Facebook exclusively.

I guess if they wanted to not sell Rifts and just waste a bunch of money developing it, then I guess making it a "social multimedia platform" is the way to go.

Wonder what they are going to do with all the developers adding Rift support to their games? I haven't seen a single social app made for the Rift,...

No love?

We got CDPR (GoG). We got respect. We got complete games. We got Enhanced Editions for free because their goal was to deliver the best game they could.

They were the ONLY developer standing up for the PC platform during the DRM craze.

Do NOT for one second pretend to pity us PC gamers. ALL they've ever done is valued their customers. They are an independent developer in the AAA console world. And in that world where much larger c...

@Eonjay

No. CDPR meant the game.

Just because you and a few others (that evidently care more about junk than the actual game) took it to mean every single thing the same, is on you.

And I would totally sympathize if Xone owners were getting like a sword or a life size statue of Geralt. Nope, its just a cloth map and some cards.

And that's your problem. See, you're right that most think CEs are junk, but in this case its not even the main junk that's changed, its the even more worthless side junk.

Yea, I get you can't ever get it again, and I don't care. If that's what CDPR had to do to keep MS at bay, fine, I wan...

You know what's being defended here, RELEASING COMPLETE SOFTWARE. You know, the actual game, the thing those of us with more sense than money will end up getting.

If the price of keeping the consoles from slicing up games and dividing among several sources, is those few willing to spend $150 on a game missing out on a piece of cloth and a deck of cards, so be it. Most of us want the actual game and not a bunch of over priced shelf junk.

What's sad is...

4233d ago 13 agree1 disagreeView comment

The cloth map and the two decks of cards are the only thing that's exclusive, the rest is the same. The card game is digital and available to all.

I prefer having no exclusive in-game content so everybody gets the same game. The "game" is what most people want and will get.

@joab777

Except they didn't "kinda lie" they were referring to the 'game'. As in the ONLY thing that truly matters.
