The Wii U only appears to be struggling behind the PS3/360, when looking at weekly sales. But if you take a look at lifetime sales, for the time period of the first 5 months, the Wii U is selling at the same pace as the 360/PS3.

Same franchises yes, but they all play differently. Compare Super Mario 64 to Super Mario Galaxy, for example. Two games - apart of the same MARIO franchise, yet they're totally different, Zelda Wind Waker to Skyward Sword, for example. Same franchise - ZELDA - but two different games.
It's not like Sony doesn't reuse it's IPs. inFamous, Uncharted, Gran Turismo, just to name a few. What about the plethora of CoDs that are barely different from each other, but...

The PS2 was outselling the PS3 for about the first 5 months of the PS3's life. The Wii is still that "affordable console to play Wii Sports, Just Dance and Wii Fit" on. But when Nintendo rolls out their big annoucements at E3, the Wii U should start turning more heads by the holiday season.
It's already coming to the PC.
That's where all the footage and screenshots have been coming from. As for the other next-gen systems, PS4 has the new GT and DriversClub. X720 will have Forza. Those three titles may end up over-shadowing Project CARS, but I could be wrong.

I can see where they're trying to go with this. Look at PS2 - For almost 4 years after the PS3 came out, games were still being released for it. It only recently ceased manufacturing. That was a pretty good run for such an old system.

My Wishlist to Improve the Wii U's OS:
- New Video Chat Functions
(1.)Integrated into Games:
This would be heavenly to have. Imagine, you're gaming on say, Mario U or Need for Speed - whatever game - and you're able to keep your chat going.

You can only chat with up to one person at a time. This sucks. They should improve the 'Wii U Chat' app, to allow you to at least have 4 people talking ...

X360 Controller: Love it. Very comfortable, amazing force feedback, and good buttons and triggers. Don't know who's the wise guy who butchered the D-Pad, though.
