A.) The author of the article was referring to HIS HOUSEHOLD, not the entire console war.

B.) No doubt, the PS4 is selling the most, but it's not selling enough to overpower the losses that are being caused by some of Sony's other sectors. Until that happens, doing the happy dance doesn't help anybody.

Oh, you want new IP?

- Bayonetta 2
- The Wonderful 101
- Splatoon
- Mario Maker
- Xenoblade Chronicles X
- LEGO City: Undercover
- Hyrule Warriors

..Just to name a few.

Like I've said before; Nintendo are the only ones who can get away with this. Sony and Microsoft don't have the same level of exlcusive IPs to be able to carry themselves under their own power, like Nintendo does. I'm not saying PlayStation or XBOX doesn't have great exclusives - they do. It's just that, Nintendo has more of a legacy than the other two.

In the end, great games have appeared on all 3 systems thus far, but for the most part, Wii U down-right...

Oh man; that was a good one.

While Mario games do come out each year, they're all of different genres. So while 3 Mario games can come out in a single year, one could be a 2D platformer, the next can be a minigame collection, while the other could be a full-scale title.

Pikmin 3 was released over 10 years after Pikmin 2, so you can scratch that off, and the last Super Smash Bros. was Brawl, which was released over 6 years ago.

Try harder....

It's really quite admirable that Nintendo are the only ones that can legitimately get away with this.

If you were to put either Sony or Microsoft in Nintendo's current situation, they wouldn't be able to do what Nintendo is doing to the same extent. Nintendo has an entire toy box of exclusive franchises and characters to work with: you can count Sony and Microsoft's franchises on your hands and feet,.

This article was nothing more than a clic...

Wow; Bayo2 has seriously gotten a lot of love from user and professional reviewers, alike. Great to see it hit the top of the list. Also, MK8 hit it in at 3rd; love that game!

Congrats to all the other winners; saw a few other titles on that list that interest me, so, good choices.

They're simply doing what any good console-maker would want to do; bring on the games.

Smash and Super Mario 3D World are mine!

The Wii U is actually being marketed a lot more than what people think...They've done a lot of mall tours, for instance. And since my little brother likes to watch Disney Channel, several Wii U commercials are ran throughout the day there.

Oh, I'm sorry, I guess this didn't happen: http://arstechnica.com/gami...

Who cares if it's not selling as well as the competition? It doesn't need too. Sales numbers mean NOTHING if profit isn't in tow. Take Sony for instance; the PS4 is selling well, but are they making money? Sony isn't j...

You'll never do a good job unless you like it! You're right; they really do seem to have fun with their work. I wish I could work for Nintendo...I mean good grief, look at this:

Just to be clear here; Pikmin 3 took 10 years, and we haven't gotten a new home console Star Fox from since StarFox Assault, which was all the way back in '05.

With that said; a new Metroid title isn't out of the question, and considering how quiet Nintendo likes to be with their titles, I wouldn't be surprised if a new Wii U Metroid game is currently in development. Just remember that RETRO Studios has been hiring a lot lately, and it sure isn't for anoth...

Hold up; Mr. Pachter is actually COMPLEMENTING Nintendo, now? 2012 v2 must be upon us... (jk)

On the real: It's great to hear him give a show of support instead of negative critique. And for once, I agree with him too. I was surprised when Reggie came on in the first few minutes (and quite a few other times throughout the show), and the fact that they ACTUALLY showed off Zelda in a non-Nintendo event. That was a bold move, and it paid off.

It's not flamboyant, it's the truth. I'm not trying to be overjoyed, just simply congratulating Nintendo, and I also even wished Sony and Microsoft success as well, in the same comment.

If Negativity had a character - you'd be it. Seriously dude, 9/10 of your Nintendo-based posts are so downing.

So much for "Nintendo is DOOMED!" and "Wii U isn't selling!"

All you nay-sayers can finally pack your bags and go home; well, you should've really done that from since MK8's release. Either way, great to hear they've rebounded, and I hope all of the big 3 have good Holiday Sales reports.

That's impossible, because Skyward Sword was the prequel to the Legend of Zelda. Skyward Sword was the ORIGIN STORY of the Zelda timeline - so how can a prequel have a prequel? If anything, this must be a sequel, if not a spiritual successor.

I see a whole of people critiquing this already.

My goodness - do terms like "Work in progress", "still in development" or "footage from an early build" not register in your brain correctly?

Not only was this early-footage; it was also off-screen footage, which would naturally make the image even more harder to decipher little details. They did that intentionally; they wanted to give us a glimpse, not a full-on reveal. That'...

This is very early footage from a game that's a year away. The amount of polish Nintendo puts on their games is near insane, so, no need to worry.
