Third-parties have given Nintendo the finger for years, so why is it that so many gamers get bent out of shape when an exclusive deal is announced? Like Bayo2, this game wouldn't be happening if Nintendo didn't step in.
So the real "waste" was that neither Sony nor Microsoft wanted it. But I'm sure if it was announced for either the PS4 or XBO as an exclusive, you'd be singing a much more cheerful tune.
What the actual hell is this?
Their graphics-quest is seriously hurting them right now. They're more concerned about making it look good than focusing on optimization. If things need to be tuned down, then let them. Graphics < Stability.
That's exactly why they're having "trouble" with the Wii U version now, despite saying the console was "really good". I'm starting to realize exactly why they chose "Slightly Mad&qu...
A usual 'behind closed doors' event for the press. Nothing out of the ordinary, but man would I like to be one of them.
Didn't stop them from cleaning house last year.
Honestly; it doesn't matter. The only people who benefit from a live show are mainly the press. Gamers could see a livestream of it, yeah, but how is that any different from a prerecorded show?
On top of that, you have people who can't catch it live either way, so they'll be watching recorded versions of the show anyway. Then you have those who don't like watching presentations at all, and ju...
3DS is 4 years old. Wii U is 2.5. New 3DS just came out and the Wii U has finally began climbing. The PS4 and the XBOX One would just be turning 3 by then, which gives up at least another 2-3 years minimum.
In other words: Bad idea.
We still have about 2.5 years before the NX could be comfortably released. They haven't achieved the Wii U's max yet, so I doubt they'll be shifting focus on the next system fully already. Also, we still don't even know what the NX is, and by that I mean which sort of console.
People keep talking about RARE like it's the same A-list team from the 5th-gen. Unfortunately, that's no longer the case.
The RARE we know now is only the same in name. Everything else has changed, even the logo.
I'm not saying they lost all their talent and can't make a decent title, all I'm saying is the nostalgia-inducing RARE isn't there anymore.
Realistic? This is a pure fantasy shooter, and that's what makes it fun. It sets itself apart from the 10001 CoDs and its army of clones.
The original XC had some pretty damn good looking environments despite running only on the Wii's hardware, so I'm not surprised MonolithSoft was able to create something this good on the U's hardware.
Nintendo's first-party titles on the U have some of the best art direction we've seen in years.
Zelda is a household name.
It could of been 'Call of Hyrule' or 'Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood of the Twilight Zone' - and it would have sold. (Joking)
But on a serious note; like I said, Zelda is a household name, thus equating to high profits. Think Nintendo didn't know that before they agreed to do the crossover? Everybody wins.
This is what people don't (read: choose not to) realize - Nintendo has been in this business for over 30 years, and in existence for 100 more. There's a reason for that!
All the trash about the Wii U not selling well and having no games was null and voided over a year ago. I don't know why it's the 'thing' to bash on the Big N, but despite all the carrying on that goes on on these gaming websites and forums - they're just sitting back counting the ...
Oi.
The "NX is coming!" chants have started up again.
Seriously people, let it go. I've never seen people get so hyped over a simple murmur of something. Iwata simply confirmed the existence of the inevitable. That's no different from saying "The sun will rise tomorrow in the east". Console-makers always start R&D on new systems not to long after they're complete with the last. Sony is working on the PS5 and MS is more than likely w...
There was never a multi-generational release for a Zelda game (or any Nintendo title, TBH). Not to mention Zelda was never a launch title before Twilight Princess, which was another first.
Thanks for this.
Wake took the article completely out of context.
Dang. That looked sick! I'm not a graphics junkie, but I'll give them a thumbs up, even though it was only in-engine.
Both of you got a bubble. I agree.
The funny thing is; you'd never see a post like this get a lot of attention, yet let the title had been "Nintendo Reports Huge Losses Compared to 2014" and this probably would have made the front page.
Hah.
Now THAT'S wishful thinking.
What I found interesting about this is that both are cinematic cutscenes. While rendered with in-engine assets, I find it even more interesting how the comparison conveniently stops before going into actual gameplay footage.
Regardless, the game looks good. Considering what Monolith did with original XC on the Wii, I have faith in them. The game still looks good, from the numerous gameplay clips that have been released.
Another point; it's an open-world...
I think people are getting bent out of shape over this. Okay, I get some people love VC, but I personally don't see it as a necessity. Hopefully if there's enough demand, they'll patch it in later.
Nintendo throwing in the towel and becoming a third-party dev is a horrible idea.
They still have a very active and loyal fanbase, so why would they? And even if they did; exactly how many more people do you think will buy the next Mario or Zelda, or Metroid, etc? Nintendo's games are synonymous with their hardware.
I can see Uncharted being on another platform; there's nothing that speaks 'Sony'. HALO as well. They don't have special cha...
