They said a few weeks ago that they're aiming to have it ready by December.

I guess they're trying to equalize their relationships with retailers so it doesn't look like favoritism. Makes sense.

Just for the record; this was a *patent*. Nobody (except the media) said that this was for the NX. Companies file patents all the time, and most never come to (public) fruition.

I'm not saying that it ISN'T the NX, but my point is it doesn't necessarily have to be either, yet everyone is acting like that's the cemented truth.

Sonic Boom technically wasn't a reboot. It was a completely new branch of the franchise; SEGA said so themselves. Remeber, the games are just one part of it; they also introduced new merchandise and of course the TV series.

Kinda hard to do a sequel to Generations. It really was a one-hit-wonder.

It was an anniversary title; celebrating Sonic's greatest moments from 1991 - 2011. The most they could've done was DLC, but not a full-blown sequel. Colors, Unleashed and Lost Word on the other hand, yes.

Still don't know why we're comparing a market from almost 20 years ago to now. I get what you're saying, but at any rate, it still isn't logical. So much factors have come, gone, and even been created since then.

The PS4 is pretty much the first exception, but not the rule. But yeah; that's how it's been for generations.

This whole obession over graphics and power are the biggest factors.

Gaming has always been about 'who has the bigger box?' Remember "blast-processing"? "Genesis does what Nintendon't"? "Now you're playing with power!"?

Things have just been blown out of proportion over the years since the Internet has become mainstream, and millions of people are able to clash a whole lot easier than before. Back in those days, y...

Honestly, this is amazing.

I don't give a crap about what any 3rd-party dev says: Shin'en spoke it and awoken it! Whatever dark magic they use to achieve the results they do, I can only say, keep using it.

This game looks sick! It'll be the first indie title I pick up at launch!

I guess you intend to download every title released; AAA, indie and demos - past, present, and future.

Wish I could blow cash as carefree as that.

“Normally, we wouldn’t have taken that step of telling people we are working on the next system, but we wanted people to know we remain committed to the dedicated game device business”

- In other words: "We wouldn't have told you about this until next year."

NOW can we call agree that the NX isn't being released next year?! [As if that wasn't obvious already]

That was the exception, but certainly not the rule.

The Wii and GC were both running the same hardware; only difference was that the Wii was slightly more powerful. NX needs to be PowerPC, otherwise, the entire game would have to be re-coded (assuming the NX is x86), and there's no telling how long the game's even been in development. The NX would also need to support the functions of the Wii U Gamepad.

Also, Skyward Sword was delayed from 2010 to 201...

In order for Zelda U to have shifted to the NX, then that means that the NX should have a similar make-up to that of the Wii U. By that I mean, it should be using the PowerPC architecture, and should also incorporate all of the functionalities of the Gamepad.

Twilight Princess was only able to come to the Wii because the thing was like what, 3 notches more powerful than the Gamecube? The only thing they really had to do was add the Wii Remote functionality, which more than li...

Interesting little detail that every one seems to overlook:

But Amiibo's are optional, not a necessity.

Like I've said before; their behavior with this is what's "too much".

How could you go from praising the system's capabilities to saying it's too weak? They were one of the first set of third-party developers to announce that they'd be bringing a game over to the system; even before the U was launched we knew that pCARS would be coming.

Somewhere in their "quest to look the best", they obviously went above and beyond th...

Just to say: Did anyone even watch the video?

According to the video, their reasoning is because the game isn't up to snuff, and UnSeen64 even said that after speaking to those who've gotten early release copies of the game; it's riddled with bugs and "isn't even fun to play".

Even if the NX is on par with the other systems, I still don't feel like it's just going to magically make third-parties hop on over.

They've been giving Nintendo the finger for years. In that time, Ninty's IPs have just kept growing; a good reason why third-parties get nervous about releasing titles on their platforms now. (Remember how Ubi delayed Watch_Dogs because it landed on the same week as Mario Kart 8?)

On top of that; even if they d...

Almost all of the first-party/second-party and collab titles for the Wii U have shown a visual upgrade from announcement to release. Compare Hyrule Warrior's first trailer to a recent one. Even Mario Kart 8 and Super Mario 3D World looked better by release than their initial reveals.

This isn't Ubisoft; no "DowngradeGate" on this side of town. xD

But in all seriousness, after their work with TW101 and Bayonetta 2, I think things will improve...
