@Kain, thanks man. You hit all the other titles I was thinking of but missed mentioning. You know, downloadable content in this generation is a double edged sword. I know it's been discussed to death, but I like to throw in my two cents here and there on topics like this...

On the one hand, developers can expand a game to great new lengths, create more story and/or capabilities, provide amazing new things, and it's possible to make these either cheap or even free. On...

I wouldn't say I was underwhelmed, but I felt there was definitely something significant left to be desired. The way I see it, the Ico/SOTC remake collection was one of the largest and most long sought after announcements. Seeing more of The Last Guardian, as well as the first trailers for Yakuza: Of The End was really nifty as well. And Ni No Kuni looks wonderful. Not to mention they really were showing a strong lot for their PSP lineup (Valkyria Chronicles 3, Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sl...

I pre-ordered this yesterday after debating on buying or renting it. I was initially skeptical about a Castlevania without as much influence from Koji Igarashi (the Designer/Producer for a majority of the Castlevania series), but Kojima and Mercurysteam really did an astounding job from the way it looks. I have to say that after seeing this trailer, I am thoroughly pleased with my decision to buy it instead of just renting. This is looking like a very fun and impressive game I definitely want...

Actually Coolfool, this was already announced to be coming to western shores, although they have no release window for it in the west yet, at least none that they have publicly announced.

As a heads up you guys, I made a post about this earlier and this is sadly misleading. As was the case with myself and handful of others at CheapassGamer forums, we got wind of this and started to check it out. We each called in advance to find out if they had it for sale, and asked a handful of very specific questions, even pointing out that the official release won't be until the 17th, but they informed us that they still had them ready and for sale.

However, upon arri...

Alright, I hope my info helped someone, but in my specific case, even though I was told that it was there, and in stock, and ready to be sold to me, they retracted that statement entirely and said that it was technically "in-stock", and that they were sorry that the employee mistakenly told me that they were ready to be sold, and that they had a big label on their shipment that indicated street date release of the 17th. I'll be checking a couple other Best Buys, and I hope someo...

Hey guys, I figured I would just drop you the info in case you hadn't heard, but a lot of Best Buys apparently got the Move in stores and have it on retail already. It's not a guarantee, so I would suggest giving a call up to the specific store if it's more than a 10 minute drive away, but in case you are really too stoked to wait till Friday you might have another option. I personally called my store up just now and they confirmed that they have the units, and I'm heading ove...

@Faelan, I've actually had the same experience as you with this, and I've been in it since the alpha testing stages. I'm running a quad core box as well, although mine is a bit older and slower than yours (Q6600 2.4Ghz, 4GB Dual Channel DDR2 1088mhz RAM, Dual 512MB GDDR3 eVGA GeForce 8800GTS running SLi), and I'm completely blown away that I can't maintain a decent acceptable framerate even on normal settings, when I can run all other graphic intensive games and programs e...

While I completely respect their opinions, I don't personally agree with list. I definitely would have had Shatter on there. And even though Pixeljunk gets an honorable mention, I think that both PJ: Eden and PJ: Shooter are much more suited to top 10 PSN titles than some of their other choices. I actually didn't enjoy Braid enough for it to be a top 10 kind of game, and I probably would have switched a few others out as well. However I have been thoroughly enjoying Death Spank and Sc...

I've been building a bit of a collection myself for the past few years now. I've mostly been focused on my PS2 and PS3 collection, but I still love getting all the gems I can for Gamecube and Dreamcast, and even older systems like the N64, SNES, NES, Genesis, and even hunting for oldschool systems like the Phillips CD-i. Anyway, I believe I'm at 96 PS3 titles (not including PSN games), slightly over 210 PS2 titles, and around 30 PS1, 25 PSP, 20 Gamecube, a whole mess of hundreds o...

Snoogins I'm with you on that one. I have an original copy of RE5, and have not yet bought any of the DLC. Even though I wasn't a huge fan of the game, I would be interested in playing the additional content with the Move when it comes out, but I don't really think it's worth buying the Gold Edition just for that. And I think it's completely ridiculous that they are saying they can't patch the original for Move compatibility.

I was considering spendin...

Actually Ash, you are correct in that the reason they chose the new voice actor was because he could also be a full mo-cap actor as well, however it's entirely possible for the old voice actor to work in this scenario as well. Because of the technology used with syncing recorded dialogue to mouth movements, they have the ability to (and even might already be doing this) bring the old Cole in, and just have him perform all the lines that the regular actor is doing, and the mouth movements ...

Actually Sandal, it doesn't quite feature a normal regenerating health system, and instead employs a health system relating to Duke's "Ego". Instead of having a health bar or anything, the game has an Ego Bar, which lets directly relates to his health, and apparently from what they have been saying it may affect something else as well.

So anyway, when you kill enemies or do some seriously brutal and/or manly stuff, you'll regain ego, which is essentially...

Tales of Symphonia and Tales of the Abyss were amazing games. I highly suggest them both. I personally felt like Symphonia was a little more accessable and the dialogue was written a little better in some spots, but at the end of the day they're both awesome games.

Here's hoping XSEED localizes Vesperia and Graces!

@xtremexx, hey man, I thought I would chip in my two cents here. There are a few few suggestions I would like to make about your article and presentation to perhaps improve it and to get more people to enjoy it. First off, I'm not trying to be rude or offensive with any of this, but the headline is misleading and sounds like another article meant to trash/bash on "X" gaming platform. You could have titled it something more along the lines of, "The Ups and Downs of Being a P...

I agree Godmars, I don't really see why this is being closely compared to LittleBigPlanet as opposed to many other games out there that are more close in gameplay (at least from what's been shown). Actually, this reminds me of an older PC game series called "The Incredible Machine", but with some aspects of Joe Danger and the "collectibles" portion of LBP added in. That's my opinion so far at least. But that said, I'm intrigued so far, especially because I ...

Tales of the Abyss and Tales of Symphonia are definitely my two favorite entries in the Tales series so far. They're both nice and long games that are direct action style JRPGs. I say direct action because when you enter a combat with enemies, you can freely move your character(s) around the battlefield, and when you choose to attack it's an instantaneous thing, not turn based combat. You also can set up combos, special moves, and a lot more.

The Tales series have a ...

Thanks man, and thanks to DaReapa too. You raise a couple good points Iceman. The install base definitely was a lot different then, and was a hurting factor, but that also plays into another point, which is that had it actually made it as a launch title, things may have played out entirely different regardless of the hype factor.

Launch titles as you probably already are aware, can see very high sales, if for no other reason than a lack of other games to choose from. In this...

In my opinion, I think that there was a lot of things that created problems with Heavenly Sword selling the way they wanted. But regardless of that, as professionals in the field, it looks really unprofessional and is a disservice to your fans to downplay your own game and act the way they have been recently.

Some things I think that went wrong for them... First off, going from being a launch title that had a hype train built around it, to launching nearly a year later makes...
