Couldn't agree with you more. I've been a fan of the series since the original TH1 came out. By far my favorite was the original THUG. I felt the overall concept of the game improved immensely, it changed the idea of the control styles up completely, had a new harder learning curve, a great story to follow, original ideas for missions, and a lot more. The game was awesome without trying to do too much.

After that, I felt the only other TH game that came close was American Wastel...

Actually Magna, I don't know if you are familiar with it, but Deus Ex (the first game on the list) was really the first game in that same kind of genre of FPS/RPG hybrid, and it too has an enormous fanbase that after over 9 years still has a large community dedicated to updating and adding to the game. The game is truly astounding, and was the first FPS/RPG hybrid, which also featured a even more open ended approach than Vampire (which I am also a huge fan of), on how to solve problems, puzzl...

Ghoul, I agree 100%. I've played every game on that list, minus Slaves to Armok and Grand Prix Legends. I'm glad Deus Ex and Vampire: Bloodlines made first page, as those are crucial and astounding games that I think everyone should experience. And as for your additions, I would definitely vouch for those. Specifically I'm surprised No One Lives Forever 2 and Star Wars Jedi Knight didn't make the list. Of course I would have also liked to see Wing Commander 3 or 4, Strike Commander, and the o...

Wonderfully stated, and impressive observations there. I could not agree more with you.

I could be wrong, but I believe the the darker version of Kingdom Hearts that you are all talking about is essentially the PSP Kingdom Hearts title, "Birth By Sleep". The teaser ( http://www.youtube.com/watc... ) shows off a very dark overtone in contrast to the prior titles.

I think FFvsXIII is going to be a very unique title though, unlike probably anything we have seen in a long time.I don't r...

I didn't disagree, but I can clarify this some. Shin Megami Tensei and Persona are actually both different series, though taking place in the same MegaTen universe. The series has been around since long ago, though they really didn't refine it and bring many of the games to the US until roughly the PS2 era. During the PS1 era, the "first" Persona (also released in the west) was brought to the PS1 as well as it's sequel, whereas the "first" Shin Megami Tensei (also released...

Actually edonus, I agree with you that many people don't realize that Vista has high requirements and that this is something important to realize, but then I believe MS shouldn't have put their "Vista Capable/Compatible" stickers on many pieces of hardware that can barely run it, or actually truly can't run it at all. Though I have to disagree with you on the audio aspect of it all. I'm an audio engineer and have worked in IT as well, and I've seen an over-abundant number of problem...

Side note, Blind Guardian is amazing. I don't think a band can get more epic. Even as heavy of a death, grind, and oldschool hXc enthusiast as I am, I've been a fan of Blind Guardian, Iced Earth, and their side project Demons and Wizards for a very long time. Even from an audio standpoint, their recordings are truly of an epic scale, spanning so many layers of vocals you can easily lose count. Though for the video the devs could have taken a little more time in showing their mannerisms better...

@creamy, yeah the trophies are preposterously easy. You get a bronzr trophy for starting the game, another bronze for pausing the game, a silver for watching the credits all the way through, and I mean seriously in one play through you can get nearly every trophy without even trying. Wouldn't recommend a buy since you can beat it in 2 days easily, but it's definitely worth a rent.

@Cajun Chicken, I agree completely with your review. This game is definitely a 7. If it wasn't for ...

I would definitely like to see a new installment of Shin Megami Tensei, but I believe first they have one final installment on the PS2 that was already released in Japan and they in the process of bringing it to the US right now. I have my fingers crossed though, hoping they have a new one in the works on PS3 already.

Besides that though, a new Wild ARMs, Grandia, Dark Cloud, Tales', or entry in the Xenogears saga on PS3 would be my most desired games to see come back. Right now...

@zag, I understand what you are saying and respect your opinion, but I have to disagree with you there. I will explain myself though, as to why I don't believe that, perhaps you may not agree, but I am just giving my two cents.

Many bands (including more than one I have been in myself) have gotten a lot more recognition by getting their CD passed out on the net. A lot of people are doing this as we speak on Soulseek. As I mentioned before, the real money the bands make come from...

Actually, he's technically not stealing. At least not until the age-old question can be answered about these digital distribution sources. There is a question to be asked here, specifically about what stealing constitutes on the internet. The question is: if you did not have bittorrent/newgroups/mIRC/etc available and could no longer download the media for free, would you (or said consumer) still end up buying it?

It's an old question that has been asked many times. It's not one...

If anyone remembers the original Deus Ex, I personally would say that has one of the nicest Sniper Rifles out there. All the game's guns were really cool and made very versatile due to the modification add-ons you would find throughout the game. Specifically I mention the sniper though, due to the game's overall feel, and because nothing else even came close at the time (save maybe one or two games), and can still hold it's own today.

Stat changes made different guns more stable...

@SlippyMadFrog, not to sound boisterous or contradict you, but what I imagine a decent chunk of people do/did, was to just snag a pirated copy off a torrent site, mIRC, or a newsgroup, and install it on their machine which is most likely running on an already ripped copy of Windows or Linux. Thereby they aren't contributing at all on the PC end of Microsoft's income.

I know you specifically mentioned those people actually buying it on PC, but the fact it's on PC means it can easi...

Actually, I spoke with a Gamestop manager today about this. He informed me that the demo that is being put on the EU store will also be on the US store... BUT there is a key difference from the demo on the stores and the pre order demo code.

The Gamestop pre-order demo is apparently including multiplayer online capability, whereas the regular demo will only be a single player demo. Personally I was a little disappointed myself when I saw the news, thinking that the demo voucher ...

Age of Conan has basically the same $15/month fee as many other MMOs.

As well as Creeping_Judas's mention of Free Realms which will be on PC/PS3, the developers of The Agency made mention a while back that it was going to be free with premium content available if you wanted to pay, though it wouldn't be required. Though that's also a PS3/PC only. As a heads up, Age of Conan right now is not doing too well with subscribers. Currently WoW, Lotr:Online, Guild Wars, and Warhammer ar...

I have played all 3 iterations of the game (On PC and PS3 I own it and have played the most of), and here's my thoughts overall. And before I start off, I want to say that it really is one of the most amazing games I've played, for it's sheer size, depth, diversity in choices. And keeping that in mind, overall I would say for a multi-plat game it came out very well rounded on each system. The problems I have found... well my biggest complaints are a lot different than this writer.

40Cal, According to Sony's dev team for The Agency, that game is supposed to be cross platform, I would imagine that this will be also. Epic just didn't want to implement cross platform play, as that would have taken too much time, but it is entirely possible. Just look at FFXI, that was on PS2 and PC cross platform. And I have a feeling they will allow KB/M setup. It seems to make sense that if they can get it working in UT3, they should have no problem here.

And @Maverick, what...

@Thor, to add to your point and in agreeance, you may already be aware of it (as you questions may have been rhetorical), but what IS being lost is quite a lot when you are talking in terms of true HD quality. As Karum said, it's lossless audio and the best quality picture currently available. If it's alright, I'm going to break down the terms there so that people unaware can really understand what that means.

Lossless audio, simply means audio that's not losing any quality when ...

Considering that Radical Entertainment has a considerable list of mediocre games and no real "gems", I have to agree with Leon. It's not the same kind of comparison. With over 30 titles under Radical's name, not a whole lot of them were really all that great. Yet the main thing to keep in mind here is that Guerrilla only has four games on their list, one of which still is not released. And to add, KZ:L is a pretty well received PSP game, and overall it's pretty fun IMO.
