I have to agree with Morgan. I actually had to stop playing Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions because I couldn't take Neil's bad voice acting. It was atrociously performed and the jokes were awful. I think the guy is normally pretty funny and generally enjoyable, and maybe I'm over-critical because I'm a sound designer, but quite simply, in my opinion it was one of the top five worst voice acting performances I've ever heard.

And I definitely disagree with t...

You have a good point BlackKnight, although when it comes to the Deus Ex series, the only reason I can give is that I'm a huge fan that's been eagerly awaiting it's arrival. In this instance, I am also a bit interested in the differences between PC and console versions.

So far I've seen the PS3 version demoed at multiple conferences (not in person, sadly), and it's looking stellar. So I can grab it on PS3, play it there, and leave my PC open for my girlfr...

Has anyone else noticed the similarity in Adam's voice to that of Walton Simons from the original Deus Ex? I dunno, maybe it's just me, and I know it's not the same voice actor, but I found the voicing pretty similar. I couldn't find a great video, but listen to the hologram image of Walton, then compare it to Adam Jensen in this trailer. http://www.youtube.com/watc...

Also, if I hav...

@Alfa, Yeah there definitely is a guild system in place for it. It's been a little while since I've last logged in, so it may have changed some, but just about every MMO out there has some sort of guild system in-place by default.

ALFA, I've been in the PC Beta for a while, and I can definitely stand by that statement. Hands-down, it's a lot of fun. It's too early for me to say if it'll be the kind of game that has a ton of lasting power, but I can say that since I started the beta a few months back, it's been a very fun experience that's been ever changing for the better, and all based on community feedback. I'm definitely interested to see the way it plays on PS3 in comparison.

I think their biggest flaw was definitely deciding to go with the skateboard peripheral. Not everyone necessarily has that kind of space to game with. Beyond that, the game series started to lose it's roots. The original Tony Hawk games were pretty solid, and the original THUG (Tony Hawk's Underground) was hands down, one of the funnest games I had ever played.

It had a decent learning curve to it (pushed me to become less button mashing for tricks and to actually le...

I highly suggest checking out Frank Miller's "The Dark Knight Returns". It has some very interesting subject matter pertaining to what Brewski was mentioning, although they're not quite old (or feeble) enough to be in nursing homes at that point, heh. It's a very epic story, with an amazing follow up sequel called "The Dark Knight Strikes Back".

Seeing as the original Deus Ex is among my top two favorite games of all time, I'll be getting this on both the PS3 and PC. At least one of them will be the limited edition version. I'm very excited for the game, however I will reserve my feelings for the game's release. The removal of the limb-based damage system is somewhat of a downer for me, however I'm keeping an open mind to what is being offered here. The other concern of mine is them removing what seems like all melee ...

@Zim, it depends what kind of RPGs you are interested in getting into. JRPGs and SRPGs had a stronger foothold in previous generations, whereas WRPGs currently have a large foothold.

Back on the PS1, you have Xenogears, Final Fantasy VII, VIII, and IX, Wild ARMs I and II, Legend of the Dragoon, Vagrant Story, Legend of Legia, and a ton of others.

If you check out last generation, on the PS2 you have a large mass of them, such as Wild ARMs 3, 4, 5, and Alter...

That is the exact same choices I'll have. In between Gorgoroth, Monstrosity, Immortal, and Lord Gore, you gotta throw in some Maximum the Hormone and Perfume. Haha.

I believe a lot of these are good suggestions and ideas, although I personally disagree with his thoughts on firmware updates. I would also like to see much larger and more relevant ones, but I believe doing an update only once or twice per year isn't really accurate for what they are aiming for. That aside, I personally enjoy getting even just a couple new features every 2-3 months. I think there should be a happy medium between these two, like 5-6 larger updates per year (excluding smal...

I completely agree. There's no need to consistently be so negative and post the same regurgitated comments about Home, especially when these people are generally basing their experience either off of a single time themselves, or from some videos they watched online.

Now as for myself, initially I was in the beta of Home which seemed cool, but the final release I wasn't as much a fan of. However their dedication to Home has shown consistent improvement on everything. ...

Yes, he's correct. In addition to getting the first game, it's also been touched up so that the first game has all the tweaks that the second game has (such as faster combat, better AI, etc). It's very cool stuff, and I hope we get the same treatment for this game outside of Japan.

No problem, glad to help man. Also, sorry for the epicly long post, haha. Yeah, I personally would say your best bet is to grab a new Slim model, just due to the raw power you are gonna get there, plus a nice large HDD.

I agree that it's a shame they took out at least the option to play some of the older games, however I have to be honest, what he says in the article about each specific game needing real specific tweaks to optimize it, or even to make it work, is correct...

@gamerdude, I'll try and answer your questions the best I can.

First, all PS3s initially had complete hardware and software emulation. This was for all the 20GB and 60GB PS3 units. After that, in order to drastically cut the costs of the PS3, they had to remove some of the hardware that was inflating the price of PS3 systems, and one of the larger expenses they found was the "Emotion Processor" hardware used with PS2 games. So by removing that and having emulati...

I checked this out earlier on the PS store, very cool stuff, though it's really a shame some of it was cut. Specifically though I would have liked to see the stuff they mention at the end with Madison and her apartment. That would have been a ton of fun to customize. If nothing else, it would have been neat to see it as DLC.

Shatter was an amazing game, definitely awesome for anyone that doesn't have it. I still play it from time to time, just because it was such fun. Sadly, I personally haven't had much luck with free games on PS+ yet, as I've owned most of them already, but between the ones I didn't have, the free DLC, and through all the discounts, I've saved well over my initial subscription fee already (maybe almost double), and I still have another 13 months to get all sorts of goodness ...

Yeah I noticed that too. Where is "The Doors" pack that was supposed to come out, including the 3 free Doors songs for RB3? It was mentioned in the Playstation Store preview, but it doesn't seem to be up? Maybe it's updating later today?

I have actually had a very similar experience as you did Immortal. It's why I currently use Blockbuster's Gamepass instead. The biggest issue I have had with Gamefly is the sheer amount of time in getting just about any game. Each times I've tried it, it could take up to two weeks for me to get a new game (2-3 days shipping time, a day processing, up to a week to get another game ready, and then another 2-3 days shipping). I currently live in Illinois, and I've subscribed twic...

@Alpha-male, I'm also hoping for either Egypt or Atlantis as the setting of the next game. I think Drake's Fortune was more like "Jungle" themed than "Water". So I think Atlantis or Egypt would be prime for the next title. I really hope they expand even further on their online component, because Uncharted 2's was amazingly fun and with the experience they've had now, I can't imagine how good the next title may be in this department. Ideally, I would lik...
