I have the game, I'm about 8 hours in now, and I am really enjoying it. I have to completely disagree with these reviews, because their basis and reasons for giving it such a low score would mean that virtually every other game released over the past several years should lose points as well. So far most of them have been overcritical to the extreme.
The bottom line is that it's a fun and somewhat original game. Things like the online aspect add more replay and ingenuity to it. A...
That's actually pretty epic looking. I'm certainly interested now. I would be interested to see a full game that looks on the same quality level as this mod. My thanks to the contributor of this article.
I'm actually going Valor as my main, and a SVER on the side. It's funny you mention the underdog thing, because that's what initially made me choose those factions in the earlier beta phases. Through all the phases of the beta, I had a chance to play each faction and found Raven to be the way many of you feel about Valor, which is why I don't play them as often.
As for who was the underdog, if you check out the stats they released from the most recent beta cycle, SVER had the lea...
@Rei, I am still going to have to disagree with you on this. I'm not on you because I think you are some fanboy trying to discourage the game. If you were, I wouldn't have replied. I just honestly don't think you put enough time into the beta and have made some inaccurate claims based on those experiences. You've made some claims which were speculations and some sound like you are stating them as fact, but none of us can possibly have any idea if they are going to be true or not. That's where...
@1.3/1.9, I'm sorry but I can't possibly agree with anything you said there. It doesn't sound like you gave the game an honest decent amount of play time. As I've mentioned in a few other topics, I played a lot of the beta and for a fact I know some of what you said is inaccurate.
For starters, the game was only "broken" (kicking people randomly and not being able to connect/join games) for roughly the first 2 and a half days of the public beta. After that the servers ...
I was using a ton of addons for a while, but then a friend showed me Carbonite, and that replaced a ton of addons. It's an all-on-one addon, that has all forms of tracking, mini-map/full map, a quest helper that's much better than the other quest guiding addons I've used, a ton of PvP/battleground features, and much more. It's worth checking out, and definitely hands down has the BEST minimap and full scale map out there.
Other than that, I run a few things like Bartender4 becau...
Yeah I just noticed, sorry I had missed your comment by the time I finished typing out mine. And someone also mentioned Xenogears, which I can't believe I forgot on my list. I really, REALLY hope they get that up on the PSN soon. My copy disappeared many years back, and looking at getting just a used copy now seems to run over $60-$70.
@mfwahwah, yeah I get where you are coming from with that. The only thing I would say, is that IF they did another GTA in the Vice City setting, I believe they would have to keep the same time period as well, otherwise it would just basically be GTAIV with a slightly different scenery. Not to mention I would want them to enlist someone just as awesome and talented as Ray Liotta for the main character's voice and persona. If those two specifics were met, I'd be pretty much completely okay with...
Hmmm, not a bad list, but my tastes would differ a little. Some of my top requests for games being "remade", or at least updated to current audio, graphical, and (some) possible gameplay standards would be games like:
FFVII (PS1, though some disagree, and I know it's already on the list, but I think with a proper plan and team it could be done right)
FFVIII (PS1, I think this game is often overlooked and deserves a remake just as much as FFVII, with a few t...
I've mentioned this before, but I was in since beta phase 1 (though I didn't get a chance to play a lot until phase 2). I've played a decent amount on the most recent build as well. My highest level character is 22, and I generally take one of the MVP slots for whatever platoon I'm in. I would say that the this build has evened out a lot of issues, and I am really excited to see what the final release will play like.
As for your issue specifically Tanny, I would say it is much m...
I generally don't comment a lot, and most of all I avoid comments like this, but I have to disagree here. I'm sorry, but after seeing what you wrote, I don't believe that you have played the beta for MAG. At least not long enough to give an solid opinion with actual good facts.
I was in the closed beta since phase 1, and I have never experienced any lag issues. My friends and clan members that were in the closed beta didn't experience lag issues either. I don't know what your iss...
Actually Bjornbear, personally I would say I'm an avid fan of the FF series, and for me FFXII was a breath of fresh air. I was not much a fan of FFX for a handful of reasons, namely the "linear" feeling of progression though the game and somewhat of a lack of free-roaming exploration. I was a huge fan of just about every game prior to FFX though. I played FFXI online for a while as well, but the entire online setup with S-E really even now still needs a LOT of reworking. So for me, ...
Nox was actually a really cool game, and it's sad that the sequel was canceled. I really enjoyed the first game, and in terms of top-down action/rpgs, it had several aspects that made it even superior to Diablo 2. It's definitely worth checking out Nox.
As for Rogue Galaxy, I would completely agree, if it weren't for the last quarter of the game. Between the "Drigelams" and the story behind them, as well as several other issues, it really ruined a lot of the game for m...
I have played Vtm:B several times through, and it's one of my top favorite titles of all time, despite it's initial hangups. The first time I played through using a P4 w/HT and an older GeForce card (6600 AGP 8X I believe). As you could imagine, it was slow, problematic and immensely long load times. Though on my most recent play through, I was using a Q6600 quad, GeForce 8800 GTS, and it ran basically flawlessly.
For what it was, I felt the game was not unplayable with bugs in ...
Great review again Cajun. I'm decently far into the game right now (I think at least), and so far it's been the perfect follow-up to R&CF:ToD.
As for Insomniac finishing the franchise, somehow I just can't imagine that happening. It's become such a big part of who they are, I think everyone would agree that it's not the end. Maybe they will branch out with a new IP again, giving R&C a break for a bit. Or who knows, we could be completely wrong and like several people sai...
^^^ Beat me to it. It's pretty impressive to me, they're putting in bands like Carcass and Emperor. So cool. Was disappointed that Dio left the game though. I would have loved to see what character Dio was gonna play, and hear some Holy Diver goodness.
Also, kind of surprised there's no Opeth, and I would have liked to hear see Blind Guardian on there too, especially since their appearance as both characters and music in Sacred 2.
3 Inches of Blood is so righteous. Definitely glad they're in the game.
Darkride, I'm 100% with you on this. Although Midgard, you're entitled to your opinion, but stating as a fact that the combat could appeal to none is completely wrong. I would like to suggest a few thoughts. Although I am an enormous fan of Uncharted, and already have my pre-orders down for Uncharted 2, Demon's Souls, Ratchet and Clank Future: ACIT, and several others, this game was right up there in importance for me, especially because it is a Tim Shaffer game.
If you were com...
Completely agreed here, with both Yakuza and this information. I have a feeling, NA/EU sales for Yakuza 3 will be the deciding factor in if they continue localization for the series. It would also be very cool to see a PSP Yakuza. I could really get behind that.
As cool as this is, it's only a handful of their titles, and sadly most of their most amazing titles are not included in the lot. As was mentioned, Xenogears, Parasite Eve, Vagrant Story, FFVII and FFVIII (though it doesn't matter as much since these are on PSN), and many others are not being produced (which really sucks because even used copies of Xenogears and Vagrant Story sell for WAY too much). I've also found that most "mom and pop" game shops I've been to already keep a stock...
