Rochard and Payday will both definitely be pre-orders through the PLAY program for me. Sideway I would probably be interested in, however the price seems a little high given the content. Even though it's the same price as Payday, it seems like Payday will offer a larger and longer experience with more replay value, especially since it incorporates four player co-op and as the article mentions it will end up also having DLC missions down the line.

Sideway seems like a fun...

I think the real question that this raises, would be if the "always online" DRM they are putting in the PC version would be present in the console version. I think for some people, if the console version didn't need to be online to play the single player part of the game, that could be an actual factor in deciding which version they might purchase (if they own multiple gaming platforms). Of course, similar to what Capcom did with some of their downloadable titles, they could end...

Yeah there definitely were a lot more video card manufacturers back then. The 3DFX company who made the Voodoo card series was even around until just about a year before the game released, so many people still had those cards as well. However the problems that Deus Ex:IW had actually can be blamed on poor development, because not even the bigger manufacturers' video cards were properly supported by the game.

I remember finding out that only a handful of ATI's Radeon ...

I think there were some key issues. One big complaint was that they only had one universal ammo which was used with every weapon, whereas the original Deus Ex had individual types of ammo for each weapon, and most of them even had alternate ammo types you could use (such as the mini-crossbow having tranq darts, flare darts, and regular darts).

Beyond that, there were many optimization problems on the PC version. It all was pending on what video card you had, and ultimately ma...

No release date yet, however from what I've heard they are planning to enter a closed beta state this winter, and I believe they are aiming for a second quarter release next year. My roommate was massively into the game and ended up becoming one of the top players on there. He gained an insane amount of money and items, and from what I heard he finished almost every of the achievement (I know for sure that he finished all the ones that give you bonuses for GW2). So he's pretty much im...

Another interesting aspect about the "unofficial patches", is that they aren't just fixing bugs, but actually have been finishing the game's original ideas and vision. For example, throughout the many unofficial patches, they've now added well over another 100 lines of dialogue that were already recorded and on the disc, but the conversations were never programed in. Beyond that other clans were added as choices to play as, many new conversation options were added, and t...

As a heads up gaminoz, the one you played on the original Xbox was Deus Ex: Invisible War, which was the second Deus Ex game (this was the only Deus Ex on the original Xbox). That game is often times regarded as the worst sequel to one of the best games of all time. It did many things different from the original and it was poorly received because of those choices, as well as having many technical problems on it's PC version during release. However the original Deus Ex won more Game of the...

Dude, if Guts was to appear in MK, that would probably be the raddest thing to ever happen, and he'd probably end up being the most unbalanced character, haha. I think Guts' fighting style and weapon would probably fit better in Soul Cal though, however the violence in MK is more suited for him.

A bit off-topic, but speaking of which, I'm still irritated that the Berserk game for PS2 was never localized. I hope with the new movies coming out that he has new games...

Well I've played the game through entirely now, I'm on my second play through, and I still feel the same way, if not even more in favor towards Infamous 1. I respect your opinion entirely, however allow me to bring up a few things I've noticed which I think will explain why I feel this way. As I mentioned, Infamous 2 is beautiful, and physics-wise it tends to be a drastic improvement. In terms of original scores, it has some of the most epic and amazing music I've heard in a g...

I'm definitely with you there 49er. I really preferred Cole's original voice for the character. My main qualm with the new voice actor, isn't that he's not good, it's that during the parts where his voice is supposed to be sort of epic, overpowering, and deep, he just doesn't have enough bass or strength to bring out that side of Cole like the original voice actor did. I've said it before, I still don't understand why they didn't just have someone specifica...

Actually from what I had heard, that question was already answered by the Playstation Europe Blog. They said that your friend list, PSN ID, and trophies all do transfer over to the Vita, and that any trophies earned in Vita games are added into your overall total trophy count. I'd imagine there will be some form of separation between the two, but that's my own speculation.

Here's the exact quote and the link, hope this helps:

"Q: Will the Tro...

Glad I could help bud. In all honesty, LBP is all about what you want to do. It's all up to you if you want to get into building levels, however if you don't want to, you don't really have to. The game has a full set of story levels (I think about 20 or more), plus some mini-game levels, and it's a pretty straight-forward platformer with other elements mixed in. You collect "prize bubbles" which contain things such as costume pieces to dress your sackboy/sackgirl up ...

Dead Nation is really intense, especially on harder difficulties. Online co-op is definitely a great experience, and in my opinion it offers a lot more than playing it solo. A buddy and I have run through almost every difficulty together, and we're on the toughest one now (I think it's Undead), and it's really challenging. One other positive side is that there is a decent amount to do and collect.

Each level can take a significant amount of time to finish (The la...

Very well said Grannyvukka, and same with Godmars up above. I've been mostly avoiding this site and all the articles relating to the PSN downtime since all this started, just due to the ridiculous and time-consuming nature of it all. Everyone wants to scream about something and seem important, and every website wants to yell about how they know exactly what happened and tell you how you should feel about it.

Personally, with the extra time I've had by avoiding most o...

I definitely agree as well. The attention to detail in these games is always what gets me. Like one specific scene that stood out to me, was during the part in the orphanage where Kazuma is helping Haruka get dinner ready, and he's just cutting vegetables, but the way that the vegetables are cut, and fall on the cutting-board looked more natural than I'd seen performed before. Combine things like this with the story and facial expressions, and it really stands out in a good way.

A very fitting review Daxlon. I'd even say that it's a bit generous. I personally had to stop this game after about my third or fourth hour into the game, more than anything because I couldn't bare how atrocious the voice-over work was. I've done some voice acting in the past, and I know it's not always the easiest thing to make a good and believable voice for a character, but this game is worse than nearly any other game I've played in that department.

Good and in-depth review Peoples_Champ. I think you covered just about everything that's really important to say. Although one thing to note, is that for people just getting into the series, it would be good to mention that there are those in-depth recap videos at the beginning of the game about the events in Yakuza 1 and 2. That aside, you definitely hit the important areas of the game and explained everything well.

Personally, this was pretty much my GOTY last year. It&...

I believe another thing they could have done to tide over fans that were awaiting sequels or full remakes, and to prepare new potential fans for the next games, is to provide simple "HD remasters" of these in the meantime, and make them readily available on the different digital distribution networks.

I've often discussed the merits of making the original Deus Ex available with a bit of touch-up, like upping the models and textures to make it similar to, or eve...

Apparently from what I've read/heard, this issue actually was more of a bug than a performance issue. For example, while you are riding, the same controls should be available as running on foot, where you hold a run button, as well as an additional button to sprint. However this isn't the case, as holding the additional button doesn't accelerate you any faster. However, you will notice that in certain specific memories, you will have that option available and it works as intended ...

Shadows of the Damned is a game from with combination efforts from some very well known and strong Japanese developers. The main people involved are Shiji Mikami (creator of Resident Evil), Suda 51 (aka Goichi Suda, creator of No More Heroes), and Akira Yamaoka (sound designer and composer for the Silent Hill games). It looks to combine everyone's best efforts into a very cool looking title. Definitely worth keeping on your radar.

I'm surprised you've not heard of...
