OK, I was mistaken. The last two COD games were at a 600p resolution. But, to be honest, that's not much better than 540p. Personally, I'd rather have a higher resolution of 720p with a locked 30fps than a fluctuating 60fps at 600p.

I think you mean "on a 5 year old console" and not "for a 5 year old game". :) I, too, thought it looked great for a console game this late in it's cycle. I'm a PC gamer, though, so I'll be playing on PC. However, if I could only play it on a console, I would because it's Battlefield 3 and it's going to be great on all platforms.

@Warprincess116, it is common knowledge that COD is in sub-HD resolution. Here's your proof:

Personally, I think it's mostly disgruntled COD fans who have their "panties in a bunch" since a superior game is on the horizon. First it was complaining about the 24 player console support even though BFBC2 played fine with 24 and, besides, COD has only had 18 players the last few games. Then, it's "where's the console footage"? DICE shows it on national TV and I thought it looked really good for console (I'll be on PC, though). So, then it's crying o...

I remember playing Panzer General and Allied General on the Playstation, way back when. I thoroughly enjoyed them both despite their complexity and "slowness". However, like the author stated, most console gamers prefer action in their games, so I'm not so sure they'd sell these days. I'd be curious to see how well Risk Factions and Panzer General remake did on XBLA (I believe Risk Factions is also on PSN). Those were cheap, accessible strategy games. If they sold well, ...

@BitbyDeath, have to agree with you on Win 7. I stayed with XP for extra long time because Vista was such a disaster.

And we don't want to stand 6 feet from our desks and "conduct an orchestra" in order to use our PC's. I really don't see the appeal of the thing. Not one game and not a single "hack" looks like something I want to do. I kind of fear of upgrading to Win 8 when it comes out because the damn thing will be integrated with it. Great, just more crap running in the background that we don't need.

Crap! The invasion (or should I say infection) is coming to my PC gaming. Please, oh please, developers please don't try to implement this into my core gaming. I already see the casual gaming infection starting to take over the 360. Please leave our AAA PC games free of the gimmicks and this whole "better with Kinect" crap. It's not! Damn, I was really hoping for core 360 gamers to "nip this in the bud" and kill it before the PC infection. Thanks, guys. Oh well, ho...

Really? Not only do I not own a Nintendo "anything", I've never owned a Nintendo product. I respect the company for helping end the gaming industry decline in the early '80's. However, the actual games never appealed to me. Nintendo has always been too oriented to kiddies and families for my tastes. I like my gaming more mature.

My first console was the Genesis because I wanted to play Road Rash, Desert Strike, EA sports games, the kind of stuff that wa...

Guess I'm in the 27% minority, then. This sounds like a made up figure and, besides, it is the results from a poll, not actual numbers. Even worse, is that they are internal surveys (not 3rd party conducted polling)....that sounds impartial (surprise, PS3 and 360 are only used by 23% of gamers according to this flawed survey....that's combined and I find that very hard to believe). Sad part, is they then talk about it like it's a fact. I know a lot of gamers and not one of them ga...

What you should be hoping for is that it looks better than BFBC2 or MW3 on consoles. Hoping for it to look as good as the PC version on 6 year old tech is really asking for a lot. DICE is doing their best and I'm sure it'll still look great on the consoles. I thought BFBC2 looked good on consoles (I played the beta on my PS3 since they had it as an exclusive at first). Of course, not as good as my PC version, but I thought it was still quite respectable. I imagine BF3 will be about th...

He is a troll and in every BF3 article saying crap about it. Ignore the moron. Besides, he's probably one of those 13 year old crybabies that have been identified to prefer MW3 over BF3. I think the COD fanboys have their "panties in a bunch" because they feel threatened by the superiority of BF3. Believe me, the Battlefield will be a better place without him and his kind.

Hope they have some co-op vehicle sections as well. Co-op with tanks, helos and jets would be some great fun.

I think they should be using the decimal point system when naming these games since they really don't change much, just a minor update. The author was calling it MW2.1, but I think MW1.3 is more appropriate since MW2 wasn't much different from the first MW (so MW2 should actually be MW1.2).

My prediction is that BF3 will sell more than MW3 on PC and MW3 will sell more that BF3 on the consoles. PC gamers are appreciating the extra effort that DICE is putting into the PC version. Battlefield is a PC gamer's game while COD has become the console gamer's game of choice. COD has gone steadily downhill on the PC and I think the majority of FPS PC gamers will end up with BF3 over MW3. It may even pull an upset on the PS3 since I don't think the FPS fans on that console like...

I don't think weapon unlocks as pre-order bonus isn't out of bounds. However, when the weapons are exclusive, with no chance of the other gamers of eventually unlocking them, that is a very bad idea. It will cause a wealth of balance issues which I hear DICE may have to go through if EA continues to push this Physical Warfare pack. All the regions would have to their own personal packs sold to balance it out causing unneeded problems. I hope EA changes their minds and lets DICE handle...

@DaCajun, I think it has more to do with the game mechanics since you can spawn with squad mates. Too large of a squad, then the game balance would probably be off because your frontlines would rarely crumble since you'd always have someone to spawn on. If they went back to larger squads, like the 7 in BF2, then they would have to bring back spawning only on the squad leader. There's probably a delicate balance that has to be maintained and I'm sure that is DICE's main concern...

This game feels like a total "rush job". First, they've got 3 developers working on it because IW is a shell of it's former self. Then, very little has really been shown of the game. They had a tiny bit behind closed doors at E3, but nothing playable on the show floor. I bet you there won't even be a beta and the game will be released as a bug ridden mess. I agree with you and they should have taken another year to develop this game. It's Modern Warfare and it's ...

@Kee, I guess you've never played a BF game on PC then. 64 players on large maps with vehicles running on dedicated servers is a ton of fun. Not saying that more is necessarily better, but I liked COD4MW on PC with it's 40-50 players on dedicated servers more than I do MW2 with it's 18 players and crappy IWnet matchmaking service. On the PC, COD has steadily gone downhill and not really worth playing anymore. BFBC2 was better than the last two COD games and that is only a spinoff....
