Though I'm a PC gamer, if I was a console only gamer, I'd definitely be interested in this. The mouse looks almost identical to my MX518 and the left hand part looks pretty comfortable. Plus the price looks damn attractive as well.
You should be fine. Basically, if you can run BFBC2 on high settings now, then I'm guessing you should have no problem with BF3.
Sorry Pachter, but I call BS. First, I think your estimate of 8 million sold for BF3 is low and think it will sell north of 10 million (BF3 will sell more than BFBC2 which is already at 8+ million; other analysts are predicting 11 million for BF3). But, the biggest BS he spouted is that PC sales will only make up 10% of total sales. Where did he get this crap? Did he see the sales for BFBC2 on PC? They were about a 1/3 the total and actually outselling the PS3 version (360-3.5mil, PS3-2.8mil,...
There's also PC gaming which has been having a renaissance of late. I became a convert 10 years ago when BF1942 came out. Now it's full circle and BF3 is leading the way for many new converts. Personally, I'm a PC and console (PS3) gamer. I like having both so I don't miss out on many games. I spend most my time on PC, but the PS3 lets me get the console-only games plus Sony has a nice selection of exclusives that I enjoy (looking forward to UC3 and Twisted Metal).
Can't quite figure out how Skype was worth that much money and how they plan on making money off the investment. Wonder what their long term plan is for the service. Guessing Skype won't be free for much longer. Free is kind of hard to make back the billions it cost. Sure, it has some ad revenue and money it makes from premium services, but surely that can't be enough.
Yikes, I wasn't thinking of My Little Pony or Unicorn mods. More like having a classic stagecoach robbery mission/mod like the old westerns. Or the great train robbery scene from Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid. Use too much TNT to blow the safe and the cash goes *poof*.
Edit: Just thought of another, the John Wayne movie The War Wagon. That would be a great mission for a mod; taking on a heavily armed stagecoach.
Imagine the cool mods that could be made for RDR on the PC.
This is a great game and it was a pleasure to be part of the beta team. Lordz is a small, but great development team. I was hoping to get them some more attention/publicity for this indie gem. If you enjoyed the old Panzer General games of the past, then you should really like this re-imagining of a gaming classic. Even if you've never played a Panzer General game, if you're a fan of turn based strategy games, then you should definitely check out this game. Reviews have been positive ...
I also have a PC and PS3. They are a great gaming combo. About the article, though, the author tries to be unbiased, but I think he let it slip with this quote "Let’s recap, console gaming is more about… gaming, and PC gaming is more about optimization and getting the best performance." I don't like the generalization that I, as a PC gamer, care more about optimization and performance than I do gaming. That's BS! Maybe he spends more time tweaking than playing games, but I d...
Not a bad deal. Only thing is you have to wait 3 days for delivery.
"most pc are not in a relaxing environment in homes" Well, my computer chair is more comfortable than our sofa. It's an executive style with padded armrests (sofa only has one you can use unless you're really fat and can reach both sides). It also has a high back which gives neck support for long gaming sessions (the sofa is low back and causes neck strain after a while). I also took a plastic milk crate, turned it upsidedown, and made it an ottoman. Believe, I'm very re...
This is true, but we still don't need to have this PC vs Console war. If you only had to pick one, they come out roughly equal in the end. PC has high upfront cost, but lower game costs overall while consoles have lower upfront cost, but higher game costs overall. No choice is really a bad one over the other. Pros and cons on both sides. But I guess conflict sells and gets hits, so it's PC vs Consoles, PS3 vs 360, blah, blah, blah, etc.
Good article, but I really didn't like this quote: "Everyone I know who's over 40 only plays games that are rated E (assuming they play videogames at all), those under 40 are willing to play games that are either E, T, or M, and those under 20 tend to be particularly attracted to M-rated games." As a 50 year old gamer, I think that statement is overly generalized. I play M-rated games and thoroughly enjoy them. Plus, I don't play much E-rated games except for racing and ...
More of the PC vs Console crap. Why not own both? I have a gaming PC and a PS3. I miss out on very few games. It makes a great gaming combo in my opinion.
Yes, I had a PS2 and played all the TimeSplitters. That's why I said it was a good game. However, it can't compare to HalfLife 2. I'm sorry, but any list that has TS2 above HL2 is a little whacked in my opinion.
Sorry, I edited the bias part out because that was a little harsh. I apoligize, but I still believe your choice of BF games is odd. I also stand by HalfLife 2 being a superior game to Timesplitters 2.
EDIT: Rob946, I agree that BF1943 was fun and a great value, but it isn't what I would call the best game of the series.
A lot of good games on the list but the order is kind of suspect. Timesplitters 2 as #1 game? C'mon. It was a great game, but better than HalfLife 2? Speaking of which, HL2 is only #5? WTF? Plus, the choice of the Battlefield game was very odd: BF1943? BF2 was way better than that. BF1942 was even better than that.
Pretty sad. That's the top selling third party game on any Nintendo platform? Wow, I guess it is true that Nintendo consoles don't have very good third party support. That top ten list of games isn't very inspiring.
I'm guessing you never played the first COD or it's expansion (United Offensive) on the PC. They were very hardcore and very special. When consoles became the primary focus, COD became much more casual friendly. It's unrecognizable to the game it was when it was a PC exclusive.
ROAD RASH! That's the one I want to play again. Twisted Metal is coming back and going to bring back some of those good PSX memories from the 90's. Road Rash would be another one that I miss from those days and would be great game for a reboot.
