Ya, I think Onslaught was their version of "Horde" mode. I didn't play it either, but I think it differed slightly in that there were objectives to complete, in addition to fighting off hordes of enemies. The co-op mode that I think may be interesting is the 4-player campaign that BF3 is bringing. I'm not much into these "Horde"/"Zombie Nazi" modes and fighting wave after wave of AI bots. However, a 4-player campaign co-op sounds like it could be a lot of...

I, for one, hope that DICE never adds killstreaks to Battlefield. One of the top reasons I dislike COD was the introduction of killstreaks with their "no skills kills". It's such a cheesy, arcadey game mechanic. Plus, I hate campers in FPS games and all killstreaks do is increase the incentive to camp. Thank you DICE for not putting them in BF3 and please keep them out of all future Battlefield games. Let it stay a COD thing.

@doG_beLIEfs, I remember seeing a comparison video of guy playing ping pong on the Wii and the Move. He then used the "waggle" technique with them both and the results were amazing. You can actually win a Wii ping pong game by just waggling you way through while, on the Move, he didn't score a single shot. You actually have to swing like a real paddle with the Move....waggle and you will lose.

As a PC gamer with no care about the console wars, I have to agree with you and the author. Even with all those PC hacks, I still have absolutely zero interest in the Kinect. Move, on the other hand, can at least work with core games I like. Doubt I'd buy one in the immediate future, but it is more appealing to me than Kinect.

Good call ATi. I was predicting the BF3 would be the E3 winner and getting crap for it. PS Vita was cool and I think Sony really nailed the price point. The PS3/PC integration thing is also cool and has great potential. The only one off your list that I'm a little iffy on is the Wii-U. The controller with touch screen seems cool with lots of potential uses. Only concern I have is the comfort factor. 15-30 minutes of use probably won't matter, but what about those sessions that go on f...

Something odd about this and think it is BS. If BF3 has the same requirements as BFBC2, then why is a GTX460 listed under recommended? The GTX460 came out months after BFBC2 was released. Also, I looked up the recommended requirements for BFBC2 and it listed the GTX260, not the GTX460.

Ati is mostly right, but there are exceptions. Mostly, it's like the razor/razor blade model or printer/printer cartridge model where you sell the initial purchase at a loss (the razor, printer or console) and make it up with the additional purchases the customer needs to continue using the product (the blades, cartridges, or games). Nintendo and Apple are exceptions. Nintendo is quirky and has always played by their own rules while Apple banks on it's products being chic and charging...

Wish I was at E3. Oh well, I will be playing the MP beta coming in September, for sure. Wonder if there will also be a SP demo? Though I'm primarily a MP BF gamer, the SP campaign has me intrigued and wouldn't mind trying a little taste of it as well..

I would be all over StarWars Battlefront III. Come on Lucas Arts. You can publish garbage like this, but cancel probably your best IP.

MS must have given them a lot of money. Why on earth did they pick the Kinect for this game? The Sony Move seems like a more logical choice. Instead of being on-rails, you could have moved your character with the Nav controller. Instead of flailing your arms with slow, inaccurate screen response, the lightsaber could have 1:1 control with the Move. I just don't get it. Money had to be involved, because from a gameplay viewpoint, it doesn't make any sense. And, before you label me a So...

Now, clean up your keyboard. All that saliva isn't good for it. Seriously, though, can't wait for this game. It is going to be epic!

Nice, I meet the recommended requirements plus have another GTX460 in SLI, so I should be able to get most of the "eye-candy" the game has to offer. Beta in September, game releasing in October....can't wait!

Wearing sunglasses all day has definitely clouded his judgement.

I believe the author of the article agrees with you and the last two sentences sums it up: "Everything that they showed was nothing less than amazing, as usual. It’s nice to have that to make up for Microsoft’s Kinect Catastrophe."

They do make a great combo and I wonder how many other PC/PS3 combo gamers there are around here. I'm a FPS plus RTS fan and I happen to think that the PC is best platform for both of those genres. But, I don't want to miss out on console only games (damn you Rockstar, release more of your games for PC: RDR, LA Noire). Add in Sony's great lineup of exclusives and you have an incredible gaming combo.

Battlefield 3 is going to win E3. Since I'm mostly a PC gamer, I don't really care much about the "console wars". I do have a PS3 as a "sidekick", but its only a complement to my PC gaming (love the Sony exclusives, but PC is where I spend the majority of my online gaming time). That's why, for me, BF3 will win E3.

I'm with you ATiElite and want this game installed on PC now (well, at least there will be an upcoming beta to hold us off). Been a BF player since BF1942. In fact, it was that game that converted me into a PC gamer (especially the excellent Desert Combat Mod). BF3 is going to be epic!

Where was this dedicated staff for the last couple COD games? Now we're supposed to believe this new game will be exploit-free? Probably won't be a game beta either which makes me very cautious about this next installment.

Yes, there may have been an overreaction to this since it is only an optional subscription plan, but this may only be the start of something bigger. Their goal is to get around 1 million subscribers this go around. By next year's COD, they'll try to get it 3 million or more. By the year after that, it'll probably be mandatory to play online. Michael Pachter is often wrong, but I think his prediction is right on this one. It will be gradual, something optional at first (advertised ...
