Plenty of 360 fanboys have preached the 'who cares about sales' mantra when it suits them. There's plenty of hypocrisy from both fanboy camps. I can't understand why some people only see one side as doing it and not the other.
You can't do 'whatever you want' with what you purchase, though. You can't digitally scan in the pages of a book you bought and distribute it on the Web. You can't rip DVDs and CDs, then distribute the content on the Web, etc.
There's a difference between purchasing a product and purchasing a license to use a product. If I buy a physical copy of Microsoft Office, I own the disk but not the software on it. Buying the disk gives me a license to use the...
So many hours of my life will be consumed by this game. I can't wait for this High Fantasy RPG feast.
You poor boys. lmao
Is anyone really shocked by this? For all the anti-casual ranting of some console supporters, casual gaming is a dominant force in the Marketplace, and 'drop in, drop out' titles like 'FarmVille' are a great way to pass some time.
Now I can retire my black label copy of 'Xenogears' and buy the digital version. Finally! :)
Considering how popular American brands such as Apple are in Japan, I don't think it has anything to do with brand loyalty.
The 360 doesn't serve the gaming needs of most Japanese game buyers. It's simple as that.
Why would you assume Sony is going to fold? Seems more like wishful thinking on your part.
Owning both consoles doesn't prevent you from being a fanboy. The fact that you mention the "Sony defense force" clearly shows your bias.
I'd choose Auron over Tidus. I like men, not boys, and I'm attracted to the mature, masculine type. Kratos is more attractive to me than the new redesign of Dante, for example.
It's not about her being blind, it's about women having different preferences.
People have to set aside this "if it doesn't sell millions, it's a flop!1!" attitude that permeates the fanboy war on both sides. Alan Wake is a perfect example of why sales quantity is not an indicator of quality. And also why it's ridiculous for fanboys to claim that close to 1 million sales for an new IP exclusive on one console is fine (which it is), but the same sales range for a new IP on the other console is a flop.
The game had two things going...
Not only are some gamers female, we're also older. ;D
On-topic: I've never understood why a gamer's gender is so important to some people. It's simply one variable. If so much attention was paid to blonde gamers, or brown-eyed gamers, for example, it would be laughable.
While that would be nice, I'm not sure it'll happen. I think it's more likely that the trolls will find some other meaningless measurement to gloat, bitch and moan about.
It's incredible value for the money when you look at its massive game library - perfect for people who just want to play games without having the newest tech.
This was one of my favourite 2600 games when I was a kid. Fantastic news.
Excellent news! I can't wait to play a 'Tales' game on PS3.
As a woman in her 30's who's been gaming for decades, I think this whole issue is pointless. Women need to grow up and move on with this whole issue of portrayal in the media. Plenty of games demean and objectify men as well. Why did I play "Resident Evil 4?" Because Leon Kennedy was hot. Same with Dante from the original "Devil May Cry."
When I'm playing certain types of games (Rpgs, adventure titles, etc.), I want to see attractive male cha...
I'll be picking up the NGP. I'm not interested in 3D tech at the moment, and I'm concerned about the reports of the 3DS' 3D causing headaches in some people. I get headaches and nausea playing first-person games. Once the 3DS is released, I'll wait for news about the side-effects before I buy one. I don't want to spend the money on a device that might cause me the same issues.
You do realize that buying something tangible (the console) doesn't give you ownership rights to the software used by it. By your logic, if I purchase a copy of MS Office, I have the right to reverse engineer or otherwise modify the software and distribute it to other people because I bought the disk the software was on.
Legally, I don't have that right. When I bought the disk, I bought a license to use that software under certain specific circumstances and nothing ...
I prefer Sony's strategy with Move. It's not the major focus of the gaming division. Sony has chosen to focus on exclusives for PS3 owners rather than a console peripheral.
Trying to enforce intellectual property rights isn't a "poor, desperate attempt." Whether or not it succeeds, Sony had the right to file the suit.
I think 'Mass Effect 3' will sell better on the 360, because the franchise has its strongest following on MS consoles. 'FF XIII' sold better on the PS3 because of the strong Playstation fanbase for "FF" titles.
