Why dredge up the tired 'Flopza' label? Can't both games be great on their respective systems?
I'm looking forward to seeing some 'Forza 4' gameplay at E3. 'GT5' got me interested in racing games, and I'd like to see what the 360 offers.
EDIT: Excellent post, Pedrobear. :)
I'm Canadian, and from my own experience, 'console agnosticism' is more prevalent here. I have friends who own 360 and Wii. I own PS3 and Wii, and yet, when we talk about games - even exclusive titles - things never boil over into heated arguments. We care about gaming much, much more than the consoles the games are released on, and we appreciate great titles no matter what system they're on.
Of course, ...
Quite a well-written piece. I agree with the importance of Xbox Live to the 360 experience. My lack of interest in Live is one of the main reasons I don't own a 360, though Live is a great benefit for many people.
I doubt we'll see a mass exodus from PS3 to 360. It would have happened by now, if it was going to. Still, E3 should be interesting.
No website is 100% safe, though. Too bad that fact isn't given as much press as individual attacks.
Well said. Here's a bubble.
Actually, that's no longer the case. Research from the Entertainment Software Association has found that 34 is the age of the average gamer, and that women over the age of 18 are the fastest-growing segment of the gaming population. 33% of gamers are adult women, compared to boys aged 17 and younger, which clocked in at 20%. I don't understand why reflecting the diversity of society is a problem for some forms of media and not for others. Am I going to make a lesbian Shepard? No, but that doesn't mean those options shouldn't be available for gamers who do want to explore that kind of storyline.
There are gay/lesbian characters in books, television shows, movies, etc. If there are sexual themes or any more explicit depictions, the game will get an 'M' rating whether or not t...
'Rune Factory' games are a lot of fun. Can't wait!
Too bad we didn't have the same outcry in 2009, when Visa and Mastercard suffered a security breach at one of their processors that compromised some data for millions of accounts. ( http://www.wired.com/threat...

I had no problem changing my password when the PSN first resumed service here. And I've had no problems logging into the network since.
You've brought up an excellent point about the nature of exclusives - their quality is subjective. The 360's exclusive lineup doesn't interest me, but for others, it's top-notch.
'One man's meat is another man's poison,' as the old saying goes.
For people who already own a console, exclusives aren't necessarily needed as long as the multiplat catalogue is strong. I enjoyed my PS3 for the first couple of years after its launch with the multiplats until the exclusives arrived.
But I do think exclusives are important, since they influence console purchase decisions. The fact that the 360 lacks a stable of exclusives I want to play is the main reason I don't have one. I'm not going to buy another console ...
I'm hyped for 'Catherine,' but it's not as if this title has a hype train similar to the 'God of War,' 'Halo,' or 'Legend of Zelda' titles.
Atlus has provided me with some of my all-time favorite titles, and the fact that this title was developed by the Persona team is reason enough for me to be excited to play it.
Not for me.
N4G does have posts concerning single-player games, in case you missed them. It also posts game reviews, etc., as well as industry news. Like it or not, N4G does cater to different types of gamers.
It all depends on the person's playing habits. I don't play online multiplayer, and I use my Wii for Netflix. The only inconvenience for me is not being able to purchase a couple of things from the PSN Store that I've had my eye on.
I've preferred single-player games for decades. This outage has simply given me the chance to play some games I've neglected for a while.
I can understand why some people are frustrated by the situation. If...
I have no idea why someone disagreed with you. You're right on the money. Sony needs to be sure they have a stable, secure network when they bring PSN back online. If they opened PSN too early, and it crashed again, that would be devastating to the company.
There's always a danger of having one's personal information hacked online, unfortunately.
They're not enemies at all. MS operating systems come pre-installed on Sony laptops, for example. Despite the raging hatred against the 'enemy camp' that some gamers have, the companies themselves sometimes work together and sometimes compete against each other.
It's just business to them - and to those of us who aren't emotionally invested in the so-called 'console battle.'
@Pedrobear: There are some fascinating socio-anthropological dynamics at play in the gaming subculture.
Watching 'console warriors' attack and defend can be entertaining, I agree. Especially when their loyalty blinds them to their own hypocrisy or leads them to make ridiculous, hyperbole-filled statements.
