Can't wait to learn what MS has in store.
That's the case for me as well. My gaming budget is limited, so I have to make sure I choose the games and consoles that suit my gaming interests and play style.
Being a 'true gamer' has nothing to do with the consoles you own. It's about your attitude towards gaming and fellow gamers. True gamers transcend the console war foolishness and enjoy the hobby for what it is - entertainment.
This foolishness reminds me of the fanboy attacks when Bioware announced they were releasing ME2 on PS3 and going multi-plat. Talk of 'betrayal' and other such nonsense.
Here's to hoping Insomniac finds success with its new multiplatform titles. Every gamer deserves a chance to play a great game.
I agree. The Summons were effectively useless, the sort you summon once to see what they're like and then never use again.
The gameplay in X-2 was easily its strongest feature. I've always enjoyed the Job System mechanic, and it was implemented brilliantly in X-2.
It's too bad that the story and characterizations were so average.
I've enjoyed XIII so far. Yes, it has some problems, but all games do. I'm looking forwards to XIII-2 to see how S-E will expand on the foundation they built in the first game.
I'll be watching Sony's conference to see what's coming down the pipe for the PS3, but I'm most excited to for Nintendo's conference. I can't wait for more details about their new console.
True enough. I remember how Sony was slammed for emphasizing the non-gaming aspects of the PS3 in the first couple of years after launch. Funny how the tune changes, now that MS has begun to exploit the non-gaming aspects of the 360.
I guess some people have short memories.
Why does any company deserve this kind of attack? MS and Apple, like Sony, have provided millions of people around the world with useful and entertaining devices and applications.
I just joined Steam yesterday. This news makes me glad I did.
The time constraints are definitely an important factor. 'Casual' games are popular amongst women because some of us don't have the time to devote to more 'hardcore' gaming.
I've been gaming for 30 years, and I enjoy many different types of games - though I don't tend to enjoy console games that are targeted towards women. I'd much rather play a well-crafted game with male characters than the product of some focus group research into what fe...
Sad, but so true. Squaresoft was my favourite dev back in the PS1 days, and I enjoyed S-E titles from the PS2 era, but they've dropped the ball this gen.
Fortunately, other pubs and devs have stepped up and filled the void for me. I now anticipate new Atlus titles with the same excited I had for Square games so many years ago.
The true gamers on this site would not be cheering the hackers on, regardless of the company they targeted.
Regardless, winding oneself up emotionally over the decisions of multinational, multi-billion-dollar corporations is pointless and a waste of energy that could be more effectively used elsewhere.
Consider other segments of the entertainment industry for a moment. Movie studios don't have the same degree of rabid loyalty, or rabid hatred. I've yet to read the same kinds of comments about Paramount, or Lionsgate, etc., that I've seen posted here about the 'Big...
I have no idea why some people feel the need to justify their decisions to purchase, or not purchase, a console. I don't own an Xbox 360 because it doesn't fit my needs as a gamer. Therefore, I'd rather spend my money on other consoles. I have no problem with people who own 360s, nor do I feel any camaraderie with PS3 owners. Everyone can spend their money on whatever they want and should make the purchases that make the most sense for them, not to be part of any particular 't...
You've heard of the PS2, yes? That system still sells, and it's been out for more than 10 years.
Great point. I can't wait to see what Sony plans for the PS4.
@Arnon: Gamers shouldn't care about reviews or sales. Reviews are simply individual opinions. People should be able to make up their own minds about what they like and don't like rather than base their views on what someone else says. Everyone has different game preferences. I've enjoyed a lot of mid-range reviewed titles a lot more than some critically acclaimed games.
In much the same way, sales figures are merely fanboy fodder at this stage in the console cyc...
Glad to see a classic XBox title getting the HD remastered treatment.
@Vaud-Villian: Thanks for the clarification. I know nothing about Halo. I'm just glad to see a classic get the update treatment. :)
