Wondering where the time went

I can't see it being released digital only. They might offer the d/l option alongside the physical release, but I doubt they will not offer the game on disk as well.

If I'm wrong, and they do go the digital-only route, I won't be purchasing the game. My internet usage is capped.

I'm with you on that. I'm counting the days 'til 'Skyrim.' :)

On-topic: 'Elder Scrolls' has never been about the combat for me. If I want a bleeding-edge combat game experience, I'll play an action game. I'd rather have an RPG that played like an RPG instead of some bastardized hybrid.

He certainly is.

I agree. I don't play the multiplayer options of games, so it would be great if I could buy just the single-player campaigns.

As long as bandwidth caps are in place, I can't see any major home console going digital only. We may see simultaneous release of digital and hard-copy versions of games becoming standard next gen, but I don't think we'll see digital only any time soon.

The second bundle is very tempting, but I have no interest in 'Halo: Reach.' But since 'Reach' is a download code, I just may pick one up - provided I can budget for it.

I'd like to see MS branch out a bit in the next console gen, but they obviously are successful with the business model they currently have.

Excellent performance for Sony this month. MS continues to show its dominance in the North American marketplace. All in all, they are great results given the state of the economy. Kudos to all 3.

Why do some Xbox 360 fanboys ignore the other markets worldwide?

While it's certainly true that North America is currently the largest video game market, you cannot discount the other markets worldwide. The console companies obviously don't ignore the rest of the world, given the millions of dollars MS spent at the beginning of this generation in its attempt to succeed in the Japanese market.

The companies care about their bottom lines. If MS leads So...

I think it's great that MS is adding more multimedia content for its Live subscribers. Yes, at the beginning of this console cycle, the PS3 was accused of not having the games and being little more than a jazzed up Blu-Ray player/multimedia hub. And yes, that position was hypocritical, given MS' new focus on providing its subscribers with quality non-gaming content, but that's business. Like Sony has from the start of this generation, MS now recognizes the value in expanding the c...

Fantastic news. A 'Tales' PS3 title for North America is long overdue.

@ICYSUBZEEERO: Yeah, it was just as bad, if not a little worse, since the reviews of 'GT5' - from what I remember - weren't stellar. Besides the usual trolling, there was the 'let's celebrate the bad reviews' situation going on. And I'm sure that if 'Forza 4' had gotten some bad reviews, we'd see the same sorry spectacle from certain people in the PS3 fanboy camp.

It's a vicious circle of fanboy wank that repeats whenever a tentpole...

It's a kind of 'tit for tat' mentality, I think. When 'GT5' was released, there was a lot of trolling in articles about it from the Xbox fanboys. Unfortunately, this kind of 'retaliation' is all too common.

I don't see a problem with comparing 'Forza 4' to 'GT5.' For those who own both consoles and are on the fence about which to purchase, the comparison may help them decide which is worth their money.

It shouldn't be a pissing contest, though it's sad to see that some people can't let great games be great games, no matter what platforms they're on.

Do I own a 360? No. Do I begrudge 'Forza' its success? No. It's gr...

For me, the adult is the one who's to blame. Yes, the kid was playing an '18+' game, but in the end, the most important thing with this case is that an adult assaulted a minor over what happened in a video game.

The bigger debate should be about the juvenilization of adults in today's culture, rather than the age of the minor and the rating of the game involved, imho.

@Huwmor: Wow. Way to miss the sarcasm, there. That's what I get for giving post readers too much credit. I'll be sure to spell it out next time, so nobody misses it. lol

Or they just have better taste in games than the mindless, FPS-loving majority.

Yay for stupid generalizations! /s

It's definitely subjective. I prefer Leon to Chris, but both are fine. But Basch fon Ronsenburg from 'FFXII' is my top pick.

^ This. It's a shame that Nintendo has been so reticent to localize titles for the West.

Blu-Ray wasn't forced. It was the media format Sony adopted for the PS3. By your line of argument, Nintendo forces everyone to buy their new consoles because of their proprietary media formats, too. But that's bogus. No gamer is forced to buy anything.

Gamers always have a choice. They can buy a system, or they can choose not to. Gamers can buy Kinect, or they can choose not to. As long as MS doesn't make Kinect controls mandatory for their core audience, there&...
