people disagreeing with a stated fact made me screenshot this. Never change, N4G. Never change.
Interesting how the Kotaku article shares similar sentiments and is seen as the ultimate enemy of every playstation fanboy, because the author dared to criticize the company for letting go to waste so many classic experiences.
But I agree here with gamerant (and I actually read the articles here on N4G, as opposed to reading a headline and slugline and commenting like 99.9 do here).
Little Big Planet came at a perfect time, and Media Molecule embraced t...
Listen. Not every negative article is a conspiracy theory.
Jesus Christ.
I mean this in the nicest possible way: go outside.
Unless you own stock in Sony or have a family member that works there, it should be of absolute zero importance to you that articles like this exist, or that your gut reaction is "NEGATIVE ARTICLE must mean 2+2=5".
why do I get the impression that no one actually reads the articles anymore.
Read the article.
@Vithar You using the term "banger" let's me know that you're not that old.
The games you've rattled off wouldn't even scratch a typical year during PS1/PS2 days.
As so many other publications have mentioned, Astro Bot is that type of game that would just...come out in earlier generations. Back when AA gaming was a thing, and not title required 5+ years and 150+ people to bring it to fruition.
I know people like to ba...
maybe Ubisoft and I have a different definition for the word "compensation"
THIS. Armed and Dangerous, Grim Fandango, Portal 2, Stanley Parable, Psychonaughts, Monkey Island, Ratchet and Clank... I could probably name on two hands truly funny games, which is an absolute shame.
hopefully, it will also have expandable storage, too...And for that storage to not be overprice and proprietary.
" before Xbox consoles left me first. "
It's not going to be long before Microsoft turns into a (slightly) more competent Sega as goes full publisher mode.
But right now, they seem hellbent on replicating all of Embracer's mistakes.
I was a massive xbox fanboy back in the day (the first xbox with experiencing xbox live the first time was one of the coolest things ever, all on my finicky Linksys WRT54G router) and X360 had a wonderful dash...
fantastic game. Criminally underrated. Yes, the combat was overly simple. But the sound design, world design, characters and lore were absolutely top-notch.
a SOCOM-esque shooter where you rage war against sentient furniture? COUNT ME IN.
My 360 red ringed, so I took it apart, and fashioned a better heat ventilation duct using an Apple Jacks cereal box. I didn't have any other issues beyond that. I absolutely adored my 360. Having owned an ps2/xbox/gamecube before that and a n64/ps1 before that, the 360 still was one of my favorite experiences with a console.
I loved the xbox live arcade. I loved that with 100 bucks, you could get your own game on their platform through their XNA game dev pipeline. I lo...
Boy did I want to love Infinite. But It felt like the game was almost trying to make me hate it. I remember the last third of the game basically turning into a combination of obnoxious escort mission/time crisis.
interesting setting, and the world at times felt compelling to investigate, but all thrown to the wind with constant battles and rounds and rounds of spawn closeted enemies that became more and more grating as you kept playing.
Bioshock 2 was a genuine s...
definitely a generational divide. I'm 33 and this generation is absolutely horrible in my opinion. Growing up with a PS1 and PS2 definitely spoiled me.
ah yes, the classic "too big to fail" mentality. That served us well in the past.
This article is not all doom and gloom.
I highly suggest you read it before posting a comment here based on the headline alone.
So, how do you like working at EA?
@Asplundh,Victor isn't wrong, though.
5 million *is* a great number. But it took awhile to get there...And it was on PS4,XB1,PS5,XBX,PC and Switch. Movies and music will often gauge the commercial success of their respective products by "first week" sales and usually the first two weeks of a theatrical run. Shawshank Redemption, widely considered one of the best movies of all time earned only 16 million during it's theatrical run, against a 25 million dollar budget...
1:02 Damn, They got fans voicing the characters, eh?
I can honestly imagine you hammering away that last "n" of his name on your keyboard and laughing hysterically to yourself.
Grow up.
I remember when that Angel of Darkness wallpaper came out. It might have been the first time in a videogame that I've seen a shirt looking like it's being "stretched". Good times.
