the piece seemed like a news article from some college paper. why are you all taking this so seriously? it's just some average gamer's analogy of what the PS3 is, why it cost so much, why it's worth it, and why he can't afford it. if he would've said that it sucked and was too expensive you all would've praised him.
its good to see the demograph between the US, Europe and Japan markets equaling out. however, just because Japan's no longer the dominate market doesn't mean that they aren't important. i'm quite sure that Capcom would just as soon prefer the $$$$$$ they could get from Dead Rising if it sold just as well in all three territories, than the $$$$ they got from the US and Europe alone.

agreed Karibu. Sony makes a few missteps, now everyone wants to make up an excuse when they actually do something RIGHT.
its no less fun than to witness the utter chagrin in Microsoft fanboy posts when you don't agree with them that the PS3 sucks. which, after you've had your quick laugh, you realize is quite sad.
i'm not sure how you came to that conclusion after reading such a vague statement. this isn't like Square with FFXI on 360: Team Ninja realizes that they can make more money in all territories if they make Ninja Gaiden multi-platform while not being crippled by an inferior system, which they viewed the PS2 to be.
furthermore, Team Ninja has a long history of developing primarily for the most powerful system. the first DOA was a Saturn exclusive that got ported to the PSOne....

well, it was stated that in the next couple of ishs of PSM they would unveil an as yet announced, five-word PS3 title. maybe ZOE 3 will be it--Zone Of Enders Third Runner...or some such? just speculation.
you see, this is definately an area Sony needs to work on...PR. actually i plan on getting one too...and no, not for Tomb Raider. lets see, Lair, White Knight Story, MGS4, DMC4, FFXIII, The Wall, Mercenaries 2, Resistance...just to name a few. oh, as well as Assassins Creed and GTAIV. and before you start: yes, i know the 360 has Bioshock, Halo 3, GOW and Blue Dragon; and i will be owning those too. thats the joy of being a true, anti-fanboy gamer...you get to enjoy both sides of the coin that is gaming.

cool read. i myself was deeply into Lost Odyssey; but after seeing it at TGS i just came away with this FF-clone impression...and if there's anything the rpg genre doesn't need is another FF-clone (Final Fantasy is a unique experience all its own). thats why Blue Dragon's so special. Blue Dragon looks good and has its own flavor: i'll definately get it once it launches. but save for it, and Lost Planet (which i already have the demo for) nothing else for the 360 at TGS wowed me. hopeful...
from gamers at TGS neither of those games received that much attention, whereas with the press Resistance and Motorstorm both got good previews. RR7 was mixed, with Warhawk not being so good so far. where everyone seems to agree on is White Knight Story, Lair, DMC4, MGS4 and Heavenly Sword. this is all saying quite a bit, considering that this is PS3's launch period. and while i myself am heavily interested in Lost Planet and Blue Dragon (not too sure about Lost Odyssey just yet...just se...
