why pay four bucks for a quick laugh, when i can come to this site and bust a gut laughing at all the "know-it-all" bickering that goes on between the fanboys?
just thought i'd let you know before all the fanboys start coming here and slamming you. peace
agreed
at the bottom of this is the link confirming this statement:
"Yesterday at the Tokyo Game Show, Sony surprised keynote attendees by announcing both a dramatic price cut (Japan only for the time being) on the low-end PS3, and, the unexpected answer to our pleas: the addition of HDMI 1.3 to both the low and high end PS3 models."

most consoles come with a 90 day warranty, after which if the console breaks then you're pretty much screwed. usually when you purchase your console you're given the option to purchase another warranty for an additional year or two.
interesting analogy. i did find one fault with the opinion though: the $600 PS3 will indeed have two (2) HDMI ports. not sure what you'll need two of them for, but there you have it. to me, this console war reminds me of high school for one reason: bickering, immature fanboys!
yeah, i just got my 360 back in June, and haven't had any problems with it so far (save for the original Fable, which from time to time freezes). i still have my same, original PS2 i got on launch day back in late 2000, and it hasn't given me any problems yet (guess i'm one of those lucky ones). but after a PSP with a few dead pixels, and so many rumors of people having problems with their own PS2, i figure i'd just wait a few months on the PS3. don't get me wrong: i can't WAIT to get one....
i was debating whether or not to pre-order a PS3 for launch, or wait until Q1 of next year so that Sony can work out all the defects, shortages and possibly (hopefully) announce a price drop. guess now i'm gonna have to wait by default. oh well; i still have GOW, FFXII, God of War 2 etc. to tide me over while i drool in anticipation for Resistance, Lair, Heavenly Sword, VF5, etc.
agreed. the article seems to be nothing more than a rationale piece by someone who, for other reasons than the flawed reasons he's listed, is trying to convince himself that the PS3 isn't worth getting. the reasons he list the PS2 as the PS3's worst enemy is absurd. Sony supported PSOne with AAA titles well into the PS2's lifecycle: it's the same with the PS2-to-PS3 transition.
i'm assuming that with the ^^^'s you're referring to me? if so then maybe i should correct you: i've had my PS2 since Oct. 2000. paid aprox. $325 for it. as far as my age goes...well, i'm not even gonna entertain the notion of discussing that on a forum about video games.
the quality of what who has is a matter of personal preference. PS3 fanboys may genuinely feel that the 360 "doesn't really have the titles to envy" and they would be no more right or wrong than anyone else with a personal preference. hence it wouldn't really be fair or accurate to say that "Sony fanboys are really missing out on a great game."
i agree. just like i agree that 360 fanboys may be missing out of some awesome PS3 games. sucks to be a fanboy.
though i'm definately looking forward to GOW, and while i am not as into online-multiplaying as most 360 gamers, i must admit that i'm a bit concerned about the game's supposed short single-player mode (something in the range of 10 hrs). the game also looks like GRAW on sci-fi steroids, which is actually kinda cool considering GRAW, imo, is 360's best game to date. the graphics are amazing...though after seeing more shots of Mass Effect i'd stop short of calling GOW the 360's best looking g...
Sony's woes with their batteries isn't game related, but you read stuff about them all the time on this site. in any event, even though this is old news i'm glad Bill got pied in the face. he's equal-entrepreneurship's worst enemy. Ken and Kaz can use some of that pie too, just for being two of the world's most lame-brain CEO's.
that doesn't negate the fact that the PS3 version could have its own exclusive content.
how is the combat in this game? i know it's not turn-based like your standard Japanese rpg; but i was wondering if it was similar to KOTOR? excellent graphics! btw.
didn't you just receive your 360 back from Microsoft repairs?

thats from the sources mouth. i'm no technical whiz, but there have been too many developers commenting on how the PS3's CPU (Cell) is superior to 360's CPU...while the 360 has a slightly better GPU. seeing how AI in a game would probably be handled by the CPU, this little nugget of an off-hand comment from Raymond is kinda hard to swallow.
i'm guessing you're from some warped reality or something. i don't think anyone will be paying $80 for PS3 games. more like $60, like the 360.
i thought the 360 with the HD-DVD add on was around $400 in Japan? if so then that makes it exactly the same as the low-end PS3, which is also aprox. $400
