there was this one part in GOW where i was looking at my the APC vehicle. it's total lack of textures almost made me think that it was a completely different vehicle; it took roughly 8 seconds for the textures to finally pop-in before i realized that it was the actual APC i was supposed to drive. there was also an instance of clipping, where i was in the building look for the Alpha-team, and i was able to walk THROUGH a clumping of boulders and rubble, to a blank white screen where the game...
so far most of the initial PS3 reviews (from the games to the system itself) have been average-to-great. however, the problem has always been Sony themselves; a culmination of arrogance, questionable decisions and lack of PR ethics from the higher-ups have marred the initial image of an otherwise worthy addition to the Playstation legacy. as a gamer i hope the PS3 succeeds where it's predecessor left off (a good system with good games is good for all gamers); but a small part of me hopes th...
then THAT would be a biased review, which is hardly credible.
no one ever suspected that just maybe this whole thing was in error? that just maybe what we're all looking at is the exact same game (Ridge Racer 7) running on PS3, one at 720p and the other at 1080p? i mean, even on the bridge-pic comparison you can tell that the difference is a resolution one. come on people. i'm no technical whiz, but even i could deduce as much.
no prob.
um, they're probably gonna delete this story because it has already been submitted (by you yourself), and posted on the main page, complete with about 23 comments.

wup, according to Tut this story should now be approved.
i'm not sure what you read, but this is what i read:
Gameplay 8.6
Graphics 9.3
Sound 9.1
Difficulty Med/Hard
Concept 9.4
Multiplayer 9.4
Overall 9.5
i count five catagories over 9, and one a few fractions of a point shy of nine, for an over-all rating of 9.5. sounds about right to me.
the anti-Sony mouth-piece has spoken (thats Joystiq, not Maddox, who quite honestly i have never even heard of, so you KNOW he ain't swaying me). but i don't see how this is a huge blow to Sony: i mean, it seems like the guy is just recycling already-known news about Sony's woes. Sony has been sticking their own foot up their a$$es quite enough, so i'm not sure there's room for Maddox's help. if the HUGE recall on Sony's EXPLODING (as in spontaneous-combustion) batteries wasn't enough to s...
i guess it's good news that a 360 game has garnered such interest from Japanese gamers. i for one am awaiting Blue Dragon, though maybe not as much as FFXIII and White Knight Story. however, the title of the article makes Blue Dragon appear to be the most popular game, when it is in fact surpassed by two PS3 titles (one being a multi-platform release, which itself is quite telling). but then again, these are just polls. i see FFXIII, Zelda, MGS4 and maybe even Blue Dragon selling about eq...
honestly, there are so many opinions (official or not) about one being more powerful than the other that at this point i don't believe anything anyone says. however, i'd be more inclined to ignore an OFFICIAL'S comparison about his/her product and the competition's, simply because his/her views would naturally be biased towards his/her own product.
the article was a nice read, but i'll leave the debating about which is more powerful between PS3 and 360 to Sony and Microsoft. as a gamer all i care about is the games. GOW is gorgeous; however, i've hard a lot more fun playing FFXII with last-gen graphics (8 hours of shooting aliens, gorgeous graphics notwithstanding, just can stand up to 80+ hours of rpg finesse, in my opinion). so since GOW was SOMEWHAT of a let down (just a bit), my anticipation for the following has been whetted eve...

i'll leave it to you to deduce which are actual-gameplay and which are E3 05 CG renderings. the point...
me personally, i think i'll be satisfied with the Motorstorm/Lair/Heavenly Sword triad for a while. throw in Resistance and NGS, and you have five decent-to-great looking games for the PS3. however, i can see where you're coming from; i'd even say that God of War looks better than this. low-quality graphics such as these should not exist on a $600 system.
"What stuck out on that trailer for me was the mud slapping the windshield in different ways. From the current ingame videos I seen, It has been replaced with a dirty effect on the windshield that doesn't look as impressive."
so, mud slapping the windshield in different ways constitutes 50% of the over-all graphical flare of a game? i could post comparison pictures of both the E3 05 trailer and the final game, but i'm sure most of the posters on this board would just den...
well, i remember another PS3 trailer from E3 05 that was just as infamous as Killzone for its lack of realtime authenticity. fast-forward to today, and Motorstorm looks about 90% as good as its CG trailer, which is more than any sensible gamer could hope for. i have no idea if Killzone will look as good as its E3 05 trailer, but considering how Motorstorm progressed, i wouldn't be a bit surprised if it did.
if circumstances dictate that you can only have one game console, and you choose according to who you believe is the best then thats completely understandable. but what separates someone like that from a fanboy is that a fanboy will wholeheartedly align him/herself with one company, and completely SLAM what he/she assume to be the competition with one-sided, uneducated logic.
this was a lame attempt by the authors of the article to dampen the already dead-beaten horse known as the "PS3's limited supply". a clear oxymoron, as selling 80,000 units of a system that's only made 80,000 units available can be viewed as both a good thing (a sellout), and a bad thing (limited supplies).
"And Motorstorm is a joke"
i think you're the first person that's said that. weird. even the most diehard 360 fanboys concede that Motorstorm looks gorgeous and cool. its also weird that you refer to Resistance and it's "muddy and dull" graphics, but say nothing about the fact that at least one site's review crew gave it a higher score than both COD 2 and COD 3, and only 1/3 of a point lower than the 360 golden-child GOW. sure, Resistance is about the on...
well, whats your excuse for the same things happening in the "flawless" GOW?
