"it'll be cool if they can implement the dual-wielding of weapons the way Resistance is." yes, i've played and beaten Halo 2, and i know that you can wield dual weapons (the concept isn't original at all: i remember dual-weapons in fps' as early as Goldeneye). but in Resistance both weapons can target independently, which is a first for the fps genre (if i'm not mistaking?).

this is but one of countless contests and awards. i had Oblivion, but sold it on ebay after about a month of owning it...i like more traditional turn-based rpgs. if any game should've won it should've been GRAW or Resident Evil 4...though the latter actually came out in 2005, not 2006.

eh. one thing's for sure, this DEFINATELY doesn't look any better than GOW graphically, which can be just as good for GOW as it is bad for Halo 3. but then again, these are vague scans from a magazine, and this IS Halo we're talking about; its the gameplay that matters most. it'll be cool if they can implement the dual-wielding of weapons the way Resistance is. nevertheless i WILL be getting Halo 3, rest assured.

a military fps set in modern times (sorry COD, BIA, MoH, etc.) is something i can dig. the graphics can't be that much of a problem if the game's using the Unreal Engine. i'll keep my eye out on this one as it develops.

the country's population is not the issue. the gaming market is. before the inception of the PS2 the Australian gaming market was significantly smaller than it is now, much like it was in Europe before the dominance of PS2. no one is trying to slight Microsoft or anything...i mean, a record broken is a record broken. ign's take just adds a little bit more actuality to it.

you have some logical points true enough. i guess i was just a bit ticked by topgamer (no true offense to him either; we're both gamers of a different taste, but we're still fellow gamers nevertheless). however, i just found it a bit partial for him to look so optimistically upon Microsoft's goal of 10 million by 07, which doesn't seem feasible at all; but then he turns around and post a negative Sony/PS3 article about Sony's woes. there's plenty of positive PS3 news to be found, but it se...

oh, i'm sorry. i was off by a WHOPPING 2 WEEKS with my time. it's THREE months, not two months and two weeks. nevertheless, you're talking 4 million consoles in three months; and like i said, no matter what season you're talking about, thats a large number to sell in such a short amount of time. if they pull it off then i stand corrected, but i just don't see that as likely, with competition on three fronts (PS2, Wii, and to its limited extent PS3). if it took them 10 (from aprox. 11/200...

6 million? i doubt they'll sell 4 million in 2 1/2 months, meaning that they probably won't reach their goal of 10 million by 2007. i say MAYBE 7.5 million, or maybe even 8 million, but definately not 10 million. i don't even think the DS can sell 4 million units in two months. still, 6 million for the 360 is pretty good, considering the limited quantities that will be available for the PS3 during launch. now, if Sony can indeed muster 6 million by March 07 like they claim, then this wil...

you mean to tell me the PS3 can easily run a game like this:

but you don't think it can't run this:

last i heard it had only been announced for PC and "next generation system(s)". that can mean PC, PS3 and 360. considering how close the development process is supposed to be between PC and 360, i'm sure the latter's a shoe in. but still, thats just speculation. until Project Offset's developers say otherwise, i'll go with PC, PS3 and 360.

i don't really doubt it, and it'll be cool if its true (ZOE Second Runner ROCKED!), but i'll need more confirmation than just from PSM3.

i myself am no technical buff, but i've heard time and time again how the PS3's RSX is capable of accessing PS3's total ram of 512 MB, negating any qualms a developer would have with RSX's 256 MB of ram. UT2007 should be proof enough that GOW is possible on the PS3...both games look identical.

in any regard i don't see why any fanboy (PS3 or 360) would take it as good news that GOW has pushed the envelope of 360's graphical prowess. that would leave no room for improvement, n...

1up's biased because they're reporting on a PS3 game? lol. where they being Sony biased or trying to bolster PS3 positive news when they posted this article?

eh, my demo of F.E.A.R. will have to suffice until i've beaten GOW. after that i'll probably give it a try, depending on my FFXII, Double Agent and Shadow of the Colossus schedule. kudos to the 9.1 score, btw.

i think Joystiq needs to rephrase the last bit of that statement to "but are WE buying it yet?" seriously, its one thing to go on the attack against Sony for this (the price) or that (Europe's delay), but to attack them for a simple ad? whats even more worrying is that Joystiq would rather slander Sony than praise Microsoft. there's a new ad for 360's HD-DVD add-on: i don't see Joystiq commenting about that. and even if they did, i'm quite sure it'd be nothing but praise and glo...

at least you didn't call me a Sony fanboy. i can live with being a PS3 fanboy (much the same way that i'm a 360 fanboy). in any regard, you seriously deign to tell me that i have to justify purchasing a $600 all-in-one package like the PS3 to a bunch of anti-PS3 fanboys who are willing to pay $600 for a 360+HD-DVD add-on?

huh? i congratulate Microsoft, and i'm still getting slammed? yeah, they broke a record; and i congratulated them. i'm just curious as to the importance of this, especially since the 360 sells almost that much a month in the US alone. 360 fans dog Japan as being a dwindling market, which i find suspect, considering the PS2, PSP and DS consistantly sell in the tens-of-thousands there on a weekly basis. so, how can Japan be said to be a dwindling market (while selling in the neighborhood o...

the game is on 360 as well, so who's REALLY doing CGI clips?

you know whats even funnier about that? the HD-DVD add-on pre-order-selling is outselling the 360 itself, which makes me believe that only the 360 die-hards are buying it. you know whats even funnier about this funnier thing? almost EVERY 360 owner--ahem--fanboy complains about the PS3's price because of Blu-ray, yet their willing to purchase a $200 add-on that isn't beneficial to gaming in any way, shape or form on the 360 (at least Blu-ray is used for videogames on the PS3 as well). oh,...
