You thought the 360 was dead? Have you been living under a rock? This is its sixth year on the market and it's seeing some of its highest sales ever.
I stopped trusting VGChartz when they UNDERtracked the Xbox 360 by 200,000 units in one month in North America alone. Now I stick with Microsoft's, Sony's, and Nintendo's official financial reports. Third quarter numbers should be coming in by the end of this month. So far we have numbers for the first half of the year:
FIRST HALF 2011
360: 4.4 million
PS3: 3.9 million
Wii: 2.92 million
Q1 2011
360: 2.7m (
The only people that seem to be upset by the Xbox 360's game lineup are PS3 fanboys! They just can't get over it with their exclusive comparison lists and other nonsense. You never see Xbox users complaining about this supposed "lack of games". Meanwhile, we're simply enjoying our consoles.

It has the sales to match the quality too. Forza 2 sold 4 million and Forza 3 has just about reached 5 million units sold. It is the 360's third best-selling exclusive franchise.
Weather effects or not, Forza Motorsport 4 is now the highest rated racing game of this gen on Metacritic, dethroning the previous title-holder, Forza Motorsport 3!
My favorite open world game of all-time would have to be Grand Theft Auto IV. Truly a technical marvel. What Rockstar achieved with that game is truly monumental. It absolutely deserves its 98 on Metacritic as the highest rated game of this generation. GTA: San Andreas would be my second favorite open world game of all-time, followed by Red Dead Redemption. Nobody does it like Rockstar.
Now I don't really think of RPGs like The Elder Scrolls and Fallout when I think of op...
And this translates to a 33 on Metacritic's insane scale system.
This is one of the most disturbing things I have ever seen in my entire life.
The Forza Motorsport series now holds the first, second, AND third spots for highest rated racing game of this generation.

It's a very nice ad with all the references for us hardcore gamers, but I don't see how it is going to sell the console to new users. That seems to be the problem with most PS3 ads. How would you know these characters if you don't already own a PS3 or a 360 (for all the multiplatform game characters)? Who is this ad for?
So you're telling me that the PS3 can do "Avatar in real time ... photo realistic Transformers in 3D"? Or did you not read the article and think that what isn't "good enough" for Cliffy B on the 360 is possible on the PS3?
You expect me to believe you when you seem to have joined the site 20 mins ago and have already posted gems such as:

Gears' action boring? You can't be serious. It has some of the most intense and visceral action of any shooter, especially Gears 3.

Forza Motorsport 3 and Forza Motorsport 2 are the first and second highest rated racing games of this gen, respectively. I wonder if Forza Motorsport 4 can possibly top its predecessors. From everything we've seen of it so far, it looks like it very well could!
Interesting fact: GTA IV has never once fallen out of the Top 10 most played games on Xbox LIVE, at least not that I have seen, and I don't believe I've missed any of these reports. It might just fall out though this holiday season with all the big releases. It's still the oldest game in the Top 10.
It's not too late to buy a PS3 or a 360. Both consoles are having one of their best year yet. It's probably too late to buy a Wii though. Other than Skyward Sword, the console is pretty much finished.
Holy crap! Well, it was by far the most anticipated exclusive of the year, but these sales are even higher than I expected, and I expected big, big things.
Anything from Sonic 2 for me.
