Telling people it's set in San Andreas is true, but people are going to believe it is the entire state of San Andreas with all 3 cities, which is not true. The game is clearly focused on a vast, detailed recreation of Los Angeles and its surrounding countryside. It looks like it will easily be the biggest and most ambitious GTA map yet, but people expecting more than one city are going to be sorely disappointed.
There is no way they have all 3 of San Andreas' cities i...
The very first line of the article is factually incorrect. GTA IV was announced in May 2006. It's definitely not good to start off an article with an inaccuracy like that.
Best video game this console generation and not a 10? Hmm...
I couldn't have asked for a better trailer.
Are you insane? The environments in the game looks so unbelievably and intricately detailed it is remarkable. The care and attention Rockstar puts into their games is second to none. The streets literally look alive with that level of detail. It looks like a freakin' next gen game compared to any other open world title.
The level of detail is astounding, topping even GTA IV from what we can see in the trailer. I hope the draw distance holds up and you can see the downtown skyscrapers from far across the city.
I don't know how the hell Rockstar did it, but Los Santos looks even more intricately detailed than GTA IV's Liberty City. The trailer just goes to show how many light years ahead of every other open world developer Rockstar truly is. GTA V looks like a next gen game compared to the competition.
Except they did mention Modern Warfare 3 right after Uncharted 3...
Imperial power!
I guess IGN is suddenly no longer "IGNorant" anymore since they gave Uncharted 3 a 10, huh?
Chills!
I didn't defend the score or the reviewer. I explained how Metacritic works...
To all the people complaining about Metacritic posting certain reviews and not others: Metacritic has a list of publications whose reviews they include. This list can be viewed here:
http://www.metacritic.com/b...
They do not pick and choose which reviews to include for each game nor do they try to manipulate the score, raising or lowering it to make a game look better or worse...
"A mere 5 weeks ago Epic and Gears of War 3 set the 2011 record for the highest debut of the year with over 3 million copies sold in its first week on sale. One week later and EA announced that Fifa Soccer 12 had toppled that with 3.2 million in its first week."
That's a funny quote from the article, since Gears of War 3 pulled off that milestone on a single console. The other two titles sold on at least 3 platforms each. Gears 3 on Xbox 360 is still by far the ...
@DrakesOnAPlane
I don't know about that. They gave Gears of War 3 a 10/10/9/10.
Just on this one page alone, I see the game referred to as:
The Elder Scrolls V: Cataclysm
The Elder Scrolls V: Hot Pursuit
The Elder Scrolls V: Severed
The Elder Scrolls V: The Old Republic
Is this some kind of sick joke?!
And only 3.8 GB of data on that disc as well. It pretty much throws any argument out the window about the amount of content in a game versus disc space when a game with over 300 hours of content can fit onto less than half of a DVD.
Yeah, especially with Uncharted 3's "thousands of hours of content".
I thought he meant "Modern Warfare" and I DO know better.
Yep, GTA IV has not dropped out of the Top 10 on the activity chart for a single week since it launched 3.5 years ago. It is also the oldest game in the Top 10. So much for the tiny, yet outspoken minority of GTA IV haters. The game is adored by millions.
