because DICE is better than Guerilla. I think they have guys smart enough to do the job. People think the Sony first party studios are the only ones smart enough to put a good looking game together on PS3. They are actually the only ones that really care because they don't have to create an engine that scales onto different kinds of hardware. Not really that impressive, but they've made some gorgeous games out of it, which is undeniable.

DICE is lying. Well, they didn't lie. They've looked at it from the ground up and changed a wack load of stuff. Most people don't understand how difficult it is to write software from scratch. If anyone honestly believes that a secondary project of rewriting Frostbite from scratch happened between releasing two major titles in 2010 (BC2) and 2011 (BF3), then I can't help you. It's not possible.

There's a lot of copy/paste. If you wrote it from scratch ...

What they need is a large proprietary disk format like the Wii U but maybe bigger... one that mimics blu-ray. If it has it then great, but I have a PS3 and have not bought a single damn blu-ray. All digital for me, and that's what the MS plan has been for the last few years.

so no, count me out until these problems are fixed.

Frostbite 2 isn't a hundred percent new either. From the looks of it he's just being honest with claims. We have no idea how much has been re-written, but we do know 343 has had two years already with it. Nobody knows until you see footage. It might not even be worth it if the console is on it's way out either.

how people can think a small, sleek, nearly invisible white box is ugly. I'm pretty sure that's exactly what a console should look like... something small you can fit anywhere. Mind you, I would prefer a black version because I have some kind of sick vendetta against white things, but honestly...

confirmed by everyone that played it. the camera moved and you could change time of day, but it played itself. It remains to be seen if that was what a real time cutscene was like, or completely literal gameplay.

Think Uncharted gameplay versus cutscenes. They are very close, but the cutscenes are obviously better when rendered in the same engine real time.

Graphics don't really matter, so long as they're not crap. The thought of them finally releasin...

Voice will likely come through controller speakers. You can plug in headphones, and then bam your done.

You could use the mic volume adjust in each game, or maybe Nintendo will keep that controlled by the OS. Either way it will probably be easy to get it to your liking.

I assume when running the game on the controller both the game and chat audio will come through the controller however. So, anyone used to a turtle beach or other gaming headset is familiar wi...

the Wii U is next gen and confirmed more powerful than the existing consoles by a pretty good margin (as stated by devs already involved). Even if it's the weakest of the next three, developers will develop for it as long as it's lucrative for them and the platform sales are strong. People think developers are attracted to the most powerful machine, but this couldn't be further from the truth. Developers like simple architecture with some room to grow.

Look at how...

that you'll likely see Steam on Wii U (if Valve chooses to support it), as well as offerings from other third parties. In general, I believe that the system is supposed to have a friends list type thing and some core features, but other than that the third parties will be able to use core functionality to make their own online experience.

This could POTENTIALLY be really good. No centralized experience creates some inconsistency, but is virtually limitless. Quite frankly,...

I guess you're dumb too. Power isn't everything, and if it's more powerful than all current gen consoles, it's next-gen by very definition of the word. Go away, please, and come back with a real argument. Anyone that doesn't like Nintendo plain doesn't have a soul, or enjoy the fun nature in gaming.

Comparative to the current console market means it's more powerful than all current gen. All I said was that I exclude gaming PCs because nobody can co...

You're dumb. Anyone with any logic can see that a powerhouse console hitting in 2012 will do just fine in the next gen, even if it is the weakest (PS2 anyone?). Expect the next Xbox and PS to be more powerful, but if even one of those launches in 2013 (only one year later), there will be no issue with the Wii U getting 3rd party support, especially with Sony declaring it will not invest as heavily the next time around. You're just an ignorant troll.

Edit: In case anyo...

I'm not going to bash anyone here... but I honestly am having a hard time taking anyone seriously that likes the XMB. It is completely logical, I'll give it that, but it's the most boring, featureless console OS out there. The thing is so old... from the initial PSP days.

The new Xbox one is incredibly rich, colourful, easy to navigate, well laid out, feature rich, and marks the FOURTH redesign of the OS incorporating new features.

I'm sorry, ...

The specs are indeed not final. The demoed 360/PS3 footage looks to be the minimum of what the machine is capable of.

but it is at the very least easily more powerful than both the 360 and PS3, as it should be (this was confirmed by one of the Darksiders 2 devs). Of course, who knows what the next Xbox and PS4 will be able to pump out, but coming later than expected, Nintendo has been forced to make this console with next generation technology. This is certainly the console Nintendo fans have been waiting for.

The Zelda demo, while not an actual game (was not controllable), was being rendere...

This is why I can't stand my PS3. So powerful, but it's UI is complete junk. I prioritize software and services over hardware, so I'm really jelly of this bro. Like super jelly I'm almost crying. I'll have to buy a 360 AGAIN for Halo CEA, Halo 4, and for Alan Wake 2 whenever that hits I guess.

I just sold it 3 months ago. Plus I feel like a complete ass to buy it again because I know the next Xbox will probably hit just after Halo 4. *sigh*

I was watching GameTrailers, and after the Nintendo conference they had that Pachter fellow on (I know some people hate him, but he's actually a cool dude if you watch him more than once) and he said he asked MS how they felt about it and they said "Are you kidding? We want to implement touch in all of our devices."

This completely holds true with how they are designing Windows 8, Windows Phone 7, etc. I would not be surprised at all to see them match Nintendo i...

As said by the Darksiders devs. Who knows by how much, though. It isn't a huge concern to me because Nintendo usually isn't on the forefront with this kind of thing. The only thing that really bothered me about the Wii was that they practically used GC hardware and totally ignored the HD trend, and their core fanbase. They're a bit late if you compare it to this gen, but somebody has to come out first and have the lowest spec machine, so why not Nintendo since they don't care ...
