The sharpness of the image and the textures look easily better in most cases. It's nothing huge, but a good sign. it is the same resolution due to the controller running at the same time, so we'll have to see how it stacks up in the end.

I don't see why anyone has a problem with this. If the game is a hit and they decide to port it down the road, good for them. Most of what makes the game cool is the controller, but they can go right ahead.

The draw of the console is the U pad... but the use of it is not mandatory. Nintendo believes in it, but they did not want to tie third parties to it. Obviously, using the controller is the whole point, but down the road if/when developers feel like using the power of ...

lol. honestly though, that's probably the killer app and I bet it gets bundled with the system. AC3 and Mario Bros. no good? Really? Well, maybe not as killer apps but it's good stuff.

It's assumed the TV is outputting 720p, and the controller is doing 480p.

Edit: For anyone who knows, could you shed some light?

Games are running on the TV at: 1280x720
Simultaneously, the tablet runs the same image rendered ON TOP of that at: 720x480

I'm no genius when it comes to performance hits on resolutions, but from a rough guess it seems reasonable to assume that by rendering these two separately at the same time... y...

Even if the worst were to happen it wouldn't matter. People should have gotten used to owning more than just a Nintendo console years ago. They have my favourite first party lineup, but the market is too competitive to sign yourself away to one platform.

1080p is what is expected, but if the cost of losing it is so the system can render an immaculate image to both the controller and the tv at the same time, that's the price we will have to pay. It's all about the ...

I agree. However, I don't think they're able to leverage the hardware enough, especially since they haven't had a lot of time to develop these games.

With the game rendering on two screens as well, it's no surprise to see these not running in 1080p. Hopefully it's a hurdle that they will overcome sooner than later.

Logically, even assuming the console contains a straight off the shelf GPU from the R700 line (which is almost certainly not t...

I get the feeling Nintendoland will be packaged with the system. There are plenty of games for the launch window... they just did a horrible job displaying them at their conference.

Personally, I always expected the next consoles to negate your purchases for the sake of their own greed and convenience. I'm glad that at least so far, this does not seem to be the case.

Halo was always a better game than CoD. CoD4 was a standout, but as the whole package Halo games have always been more compelling.

I might be alone, but Far Cry 3 was game of show for me. Extremely compelling and mature content themes through that sucker. It was amazing. Watch Dogs was a sucker punch out of nowhere though, great stuff.

There are plenty of games that were equally awesome. It's too hard to pick one, but when you open your demo with tits and eroticism in general and have it for a mature and psychological reason, I feel you get some major bonus points.

I was impressed with the updated controller and system as they're really slick, but past the first 20 minutes or so it dropped off a cliff. I have no doubt in it because the titles are going to come, but a little reassurance would have been nice damnit.

They showed Batman (go watch the demo of the controller in the one on one interview) and it looked to be at the same level. Didn't necessarily look much better, but the incentive to put the development time into that isn't there. It's more important to sell the new experience at this point (although I wish they had time and desire to boost visuals as well).

There's also a demo of AC3 of the same fashion you can find. It's looking identical. I think it was ...

Even if the specs are really good they wouldn't say anything more. Nintendo don't give a shit. If you ever get real specs it will be a developer delivering you the information... and I hope somebody does this because it does matter, to an extent. It's indicative of how the machine will fair next to it's eventual (and also current) competition.

Few care if it's the most powerful, they just want to know it will be in the same tier so third parties can suppor...

I'm still upset about the in-game music thing. If rumours are true about the Wii U OS being beefy, then hopefully all of these killer features are a part of the OS and this won't be an issue.

4993d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

you make no sense. If the worst were to happen, there's still a traditional controller.
