I just want a decent, solid and engaging Single Player experience. And so long as it doesn't end up in the screaming mess any other online Halo event does, it could be half good.

As it is, I shy away from anything Halo online, as all it is is screaming-memees bouncing around like Jack-Rabbits and hollerin' whhaaawhhoo . .

Believe it - or not, yes, one of those statements, I'm NOT all that fussed about Halo anymore. I was originally, and 2 had me, but 3 left me a little flat and now it seems they are simply milking the franchise.

Although, with this new 'slant' on things, it could move things along and create a new way of looking at the franchise, without changing it all that much.

Time will tell.

Oddly enough I've never played the game, so it looks like a trip to XBLA is in order.

I think you're missing the point of the whole exercise.

It's not only DLC, it's DLG (downloadable games). Both Sony and MS are fielding the userbase to see how things are going. They various developers and their publishers are testing the waters to see if a new business model will work or offer them a better leverage point over disc-based games or Extensions that would have normally come via disc-based means in stores - at a cheaper cost, yet still have the same production cost f...

Couldn't agree with you more on that one mate, and bubbles to you for saying it . . .

Well in fact, if you do read up on it, the MS user IS getting a decent deal out of it.

There are TWO additional chapters, not costumes or maps. The second DLC will add and additional 6 hours of gameplay. It will have an additional Playable character "Lara's Shadow" - hence the name of the Chapter. So all up, there's an additional 10 odd hours of gameplay . .yes, not much at all . .

I can not understand how Sony players can be at times. It seems perfectly f...

And thatis the case with allmajor businesses. I hate (dislike greatly) MS Corp and how it does it's business. I too write this on a MAC and use Word '08 on the mac as it's ten times better that MS's Word '07 for the PC . . We get a special one hehehe.

ANd Apple do their business and machines on a whole different level. But gaming is different. It's not computers systems or even OS systems. It's about a huge online service and disc-based service that both Sony, MS Xbox-Div and Nin...

What a load of old bollocks . . .

Of course there will be fine print, and restrictions when it comes to speial offers . that is why they are - well - special and dare I say - limited.

Otherwise they wouldn't be special - or limited.

Each store must have a minimum of a certain number of orders to warrant that store getting stock. That is why the fine print is there - to protect YOU!

So that if you did place funds down, and didn't get the good...

DO grow up mate, The two companies are in competition with each other, so naturally they will BOTH try and get the upper hand when ever they can and in what ever way they can. You weren't singing the same tune when Sony grabbed exclusive DLC for Mirror's Edge . .. Which I'll miss out on, but hey, that's business, and how it works. Nothing will be gained by me complaining about it, same goes for the DLC for Tomb Raiders or GTA:IV or Fallout 3.

DLC will be the next issue invoilving...

Of course it is news, and it has been confirmed as happening, we ran an article on it yesterday when it became known that there would be two DLC chapters - remember!

SO it IS news, but the article its self says nothing new as such, simply that the website asked if it was true, and Edios confirmed that MS had asked for additional content.

And naturally, being a business, they (MS or Sony for that matter) would have to pay for it if they wanted it. Especially when one ...

Of course MS paid, but the article is in no way saying how much it paid, simply that it did ask Edios to make special content for the game that only XboxLIVE users could get, and that would extend the game rather than simply add some extra bits-n-pieces to it.

I'm a MS fan, hence the name and website, but MS do pay for things and so do other companies, Sony included. Don't be too blinded by support for a platform to think no one does. It's a business from all sides, and Edios wou...

Simply another disgruntled Sony fans, but I bet you weren't saying the same thing when Sony nabbed Exclusive DLC on Mirror's Edge etc. no, didn't think so.

So it's okay if Sony does it, but not if MS does it, after all, MS is the devil - isn't it . . come on, how old are you . . act mature if you want to be treated with maturity. Business is business, and both Sony and Ms will be looking at securing different levels of exclusive DLC in the future, it's just how they are doing i...

Unfortunately mate, Tiberium has been canceled as a stand-alone game and will not be made or developed further. Sadly. It was shaping up to be a top looking game. http://planetcnc.gamespy.co...

On a second note, the article that this belongs to says nothing about how much MS paid for the Exclusive content and merely reiterates the fact that MS asked how they could extend the gameplay for Xbox...

I like DLC that enhances a game, like Ace Combat, each set of new planes actually have different attributes and allow different handling on the same aircraft. So they suit different situations.

They are worked into the single player mode as well as the Multiplayer mode. SO the question is, why the heck can't racing sims or racers do the same. Most offer car packs but you can ONLY use them online and not in any form of career or Single Player mode where you compete against the AI...

This sort of DLC I agree with, and at prices people are willing to pay, But full games and at higher prices, that's not something I care to be doing.

I've yet to play CR, so perhaps this might give me the push needed.

You need to check out what is actually happening out there mate.

It's (and Sony will be doing the same btw) shutting down studios as it is no longer a viable business model to do so any longer. The days have passed when having as many in-house dev studios really mattered, and ties to 3rd party dev was also important.

Yes, Major 3rd Party publishers will also be looking at spreading their wings with either times exclusive content or simply exclusive content, as it is ...

Exclusive Titles will no longer sell platforms, they might sell games, but not platforms. That has been proven several times already, and both MS and SOny have seen this. MGS4 did not sell the numbers of PS3's it (Sony) expected it to. They expected units to walk off the shelves in just about every region. That did not happen. Both MS and Sony expected GTA:IV to sell hardware as well as software. Gamers chose Software over hardware when you look at the numbers.

SO if you had a co...

Because it's the new way of securing more customers for longer.

A TV manufacture makes a new TV, it has movies available that theother TV's do, but they make a deal with one of the Studios to offer Picture in Picture and special features not available through other TV's . . .Is that company a bad company simply because it is wanting to exploit it's options in offering its customer base a better or larger experience than its competition . . no.

I understand the frustr...

You see, this argument follows no matter whether it is DLC or real world discs . .

Both sides that do not get the exclusive deal feel cheated, when in fact, they are simply getting a better deal through the platform they chose, for whatever reasons.

Most games now are on par with each other, with little of no real differences the average gamer can pick. So to make it different, both Sony and MS and Nintendo will now be looking at offering exclusive DLC as an option t...

Did you read it said some 1st party titles .. both MS and Sony are selling off their 1st [part in-house studios thus allowing those games to be made via the same developer, but out-side the bounds of the main company.

Why is it that so many are blind to what a company states publicly. 3rd party exclusives are a thing of the past to a huge degree, and many once 1st party only titles ill now be made for all platforms or at least the two major ones.
