well after spending almost a solid month on this games listing, the idea of a MMO on the console/s is not that far fetched. As there are several "projects" underway that will shape up to be solid MMO's on the console, once released. Some won't be around until early 2010, or even late 2009, but they are on the way, and be decent developers as well.

Not saying too much now until I've finished the listing, as that would spoil half the fun of having the listing, now wouldn'...

If it doesn't work as well in one browser then give it a go in another to see if there's a difference in either. As with all "new" software, the developer needs feedback, so if you (read anyone) has a problem with it, then for goodness sake tell them what is or isn't working.

If you spent a considerable amount of time and money on something you'd want all the poss and neg feedback you can get. One thing that gamers seem to NOT do is give feedback directly to a developer...

I'm sure once the testing is complete and more ppl are using this, it could open up a varied style of net experience. With regards to it being in the PS3 section, well one would hope that some use the net via their consoles (sadly 360 misses out) that might find this really interesting.

Plus it's great to see it coming out of Australia as well. Yet another Aussie developer doing their thang'

Backward Compatitibility regarding Last-Gen (not This-Gen) and 3rd party exclusives are things of the past. Well as far as the majors are concerned anyhow.

Sony and MS are no longer coming up with the exclusives they once were renowned for, what were once sole developers for one platform, are now multiplatform developers and the list moving that way will only grow, not shrink.

If the likes of Sony and MS want more returns for new games, they need to focus on turning...

While it is a convenience, it is also a waste of resources at times on the hardware and development crew.

While BC is great, and the need to play older games exists, with the current speed of new games coming out (I have a listing of over 385 games coming to the 360 in the next 18 months, and that does NOT include Japan or US centric games . . So it would be around 400 plus titles.

With THAT many games coming, where would any normal person find the time to go back do...

I thin many new gamers expect way too much from developers in the time frame they work in.

Given the advancement they have made in the last say 3-5 years, I'd say we are damn lucky. The advancements over just the last 3 have been much more than the previous 10 or 12 years. But many younger gamers wouldn't know this, as they only see what is current, as that is what they experience. So it's hard for them to guage what has actually changed in the great scheme of things.

well you can forget about any games become BC on the 360. As they stopped the BC dept earlier this year. No more BC games from the 1st-gen. Just what is on the listing now, that is it.

The only other avenue open is if they bring out the game via XO (xbox originals) which I doubt, as it seems they are only picking those with huge fan-bases.

SO don't get your hopes up, in fact, don't even bother thinking about it. Their main goal now is DLC and future games.

I have my faithful BBB (albeit a Green one - Halo) sitting UNDER my 360, so if I ever want to play older games, bam, off I go. It takes up no more shelf room than the 360 laying down and a few more cables. I can switch from one to the other while both are playing, and have the best of both worlds.

Although, a poll we ran on the site did show a number of people did still play older games on their 360, as well as the BBB.

Consoles do NOT need lots of memory, in fact, they work better with less, than more.

Plus, and this is the BIG thing, it also forces developers to be more creative. To look for ways around things, rather than simply allowing the system to become bloated and over loaded. Give a developer a high wall to climb over, and he'll bust his nuts in trying to do it. Give him an open field and say off you go, he'll wander all over the place using up every bit of the area he can.

It's a sad day when people can't be bothered to read posts, let along check a persons Bio. You'll see I'm nothing like Bruce on Games. I believe in writing what is on my mind without trying to insult others or pick side s. I hate fanbois, be they xbots or Sony droids. If half of them had a little more sense, and bothered to read just half of the posts and articles in here, the site would be a better place.

SO I'd suggest hitting that button up the top that say Bio and check it ou...

Jake, all valid points again, unlike some below . . .

I to think it could well be 2010, be it april or Nov, that's up for grabs, but it will be either of those two periods.

I think Sony will phase out the PS2, as sales are slowing as sales on the PS3 and PSP rise. SO come 2011 oe 2012, they could well be in the position to bring in the PS4 with the PS3 the table winner and holding its own on the market. They will never regain any financial loses from the PS3, it lost...

Mate, you really don't understand do you.

They can NOT wait until 2012 for a new xbox. They have scheduled it for the Valhalla in 09/10, most likely '10. While they said they could be a new tech by operative word BY 2012, they did not say OUT in 2012.

All the 'facts' fall into place for the release of the console in that time frame mentioned. Game console do NOT have the expected sale cycle as they once had, their primary life span is 4-5 yrs, with a "life span...

Jake, great points. Seeing that you're open to discussion on it, unliek some . cough cough . . I'd like to point out one area of info many have forgotten about, and not many knew about.

During the initial planning phase of the 360 and for that matter, the xbox platform, Ballmer and Bach both came up with a figure that the company could well lose without suffering too much . . and they were prepared to "do what it takes" even at this $$ loss.

That figure wa...

From what I can ascertain (read), they (MS) have been working towards the reduced 45nm chipset with the Valhalla, as I've seen some pics showing the actual difference of the chipsets. So if they are in prototype phase now, it's fair to assume that the Motherboard which follows Opus (the one after Jasper (current NEW motherboard), ie Valhalla will have some advance tech on board.

MS own the rights to both the CPU and GPU this time around, unlike the 1st-gen xbox. Which as pointed o...

Well obviously you didn't read it all that well then, did you. It's NOT Flamebait, its simply pointing out the basic premise behind developers using less and achieving more with less.

By building for consoles, be that on the DVD9 or BR, they have to work more efficiently with regards to both memory, and of course, how they store their data. While many believed the days of the DVD9 were drawing to a fast close with the introduction of the BR, they soon found out that was in fact,...

SO I presume you mean he needed to write it as a "possibility" . . . rather than say fact ?

Thing is, most of what has been said is fact with regards to both Sony, MS and NIntendo workingon their successors. Sony have been squirreling away on the proposed PS4 for some time now, not that any Sony fans want to hear that, as they believe the PS3 is here to stay - forever.

Thing is, they (Sony) know it can never recover the loses it has incurred from the PS3,ev...

Excellent stuff Bruce. Yes, I also believe we'll see the x720 (Phoenix) by late '09 or around March=April '10. As that's when the Valhalla will drop which is the motherboard for the x720 and earmarked for a late '09 early '10 release.

Many believe that the next xbox won't come out until 2012 or later, but MS cxan not wait that long. Their '03 white paper called XE 03 called on a release of the 360 successor in or around the 5 year period from the 360's release, which would fall i...

True, her face was what was rendered, but when you add that to software they use in films such as Sky Pilot, you begin to wonder where reality stops and virtual reality begins.

There's no denying that we are advancing in games a great deal, and now that gamers are experiencing much more than they did even 3-5yrs ago. I've been around gaming for - well let's say a LONG time, and when you look at how far we have come in say 10 - 15 plus years, then look at how far we have come in j...

Personally I think it's a great move forward for developing games on the consoles. Sure, some game will definitely have more persistent damage modeling across the board on PC gaming rigs. But a console is NOT a PC Gaming rig. That is the whole point.

The idea is to get games out to the WIDER public, not the smaller number of bedroom-bound gamers with PC's attached to their backs permanently. No doubt they will find ways of improving the dange as they work further with it. Games l...

Yeap, and it takes around hour hours in real time to get from one side to the other. No magic teleporting or such like. You can get a vehicle, but it'll still take you a good hour to do so, and the villages and buildings are exactly as they are on the island right now.

Oh, and btw, I put up the EARLIER version of their software so you can see the distinct difference between the new version and the old. There is NO WAY you can mistake the old for the new. Unless you're blind of c...
