BUt if you listen to BIA:HH the soldiers scream and moan when blown up, and it's 10 time more graphic that Dark Sector, showing atual muscle tissue, bone and even intestines laying on the floor when bl;own in half by a mortar . . .
But it is totally inconsistent, whichever way you look at it, we're the laughing stock of the gaming world at the moment. Thing is, gamers as a group, especially in Australia are a spineless lot, and wait for someone else to do the work for them, yet c...
Most other countries don't even realize we have this problem. Mainly because it doesn't involve them, but at the same time, we here in Australia are considered by the majority of developers and publishers, to be a "risky" market, so some games simply do not even come here or even offered here.
Shellshock 2 is a perfect example. It got RC when seen by the OLFC due to violence and gore, and Atari, on behalf of Edios, didn't even fight the case, as to do so, would cost an ...
And the stupid thing is, Gears 2 will romp through with a MA15+ rating, yet Shellshock 2 was banned outright . . .no second chance . .Yet again, Brothers In Arms HH was given a MA15+ and showed slow-mo limbs being severed, bone and muscle showing, soldiers screaming, yet initially banned Dark Sector for exactly the same thing.
If there was a R18+ rating (which we already have- so we don't have to make one up, it's already there), then all those games would get through provided yh...
If this doesn't get GOTY or in the short listing, then there is something seriously wrong about GOTY ratings and awards .. .
We rarely get a Real Sleeper game, but this one is one of those rare ones. No one really paid much attention to it, yet those that did and previewed it all commented that it was perhaps THE scariest game since - ever. Beating anything the Res Evil franchise had delivered or any other Survival Horror game before it.
Yet I'm completely baffled as...
From those I've spoken to that have played this, they can not speak too highly of it. Many have purchased it along with some of the other AAA titles, and ended up playing this instead of the other major titles, which for some shocked them, as they thought it would be a good "filler" until they got the chance to play their fav game. They simply can't put this down (take it out of the 360/PS3 etc).
I'd be surprised if this doesn't make it into the top 5 GOTY Awards for 20...
It's pointless even trying to discuss anything with you on a mature level. My son who's 32 has better manners than you, and loves his PS2, and 360 equally, Has been gaming since he could walk and can discuss things rationally.. Cheers . . .
See, exactly what I mean about onesidedness, We never run down the opposition, it serves no one any good. All the platforms help each other and push each into new innovation and better product. MS have made some huge blunders, so have Sony. The PS3 is a great machine, but Sony Corp's handling of the PS3 initially, under Ken Katuargai is nothing short of disgraceful and did them (Sony) untold damage.
Not because of whether the PS3 is better than the 360, or visa-versa . . or which...
Yeeep, we HATE the PS3. absolutely hate it :

Mate, your obvious bias and immature post doesn't even warrant a proper reply . . . Other than did you bother to even read the Blooberg report . .and if you knew anything about shares, you'd know a drop of 14% in one day is a significant amount for any company to lose
Shame you can't discuss matters in a sensible way like other adults do.
No, keep the conversation going mate, it's how we all learn and foster knowledge, without which we have no possibility of knowing more. Without conversation, "possibility" simply does not exist, so by all means, do keep the conversation going, as you will only encourage others to do the same. So long as we stay the right side of fans, it's fine . .
You're right with regard to exclusives. Both MS and SOny in part are drawing back from major 3rd party titles. Developers ...
God some ppl . . Because the share market affects how a company gets its MONEY . . MS bargained on loosing up to $US6.3 billion over the 7 years which include the 1st-gen Xbox. which was never designed to make a profit, or have a life linger than 5 years. It sole job was to set up the platform, help developers get another platform to work on, and get XboxLive up.
DO a search for the EX 03 White paper, it explains it all there, but that would require reading lots of information ....
Agreed, if ppl would see past their blinker and stop thinking we're picking on Sony, Heck, I'd love a PS3, simply can't afford one here in Australia, as Heavenly Rain is one major PS3 title I want for sure.
Sony COE said they can't afford to drop the RRP on the ps3 this side of Christmas or even into the bulk of next year. To do so would only =make things worse, not better. As while sales may pick up, the loss would not be outweighed by any gain they got with larger sales.

Because we are gamers first and foremost. We review PS3 and PC games of high quality, discuss all platforms in our forums, and will be reviewing LBP because it's a brilliant game . . . we are NOT fanbois . ..
See Crysis Warhead Review: - http://xboxoz360gamer.com/r... and MGS4 review: which we titled "Closest thing to Perfect:
That's the figure related to Sony's STOCK shares, not the money market.
This does have a flow on for gamers in general and while some thinkreporting this si fanboism, it's not. It would be reported if it was MS Nintendo or PC related, simply because it IS agming related.
We can't be so blind to only show the good news or the news that supports one platform over the other. At the end of the day, all the companies are in competition, and while some believe these majors...
Agreed, while other industries suffer, gaming in general usually bolster during economic downturns. Some even rise above it and gain $.
The whole issue is, that any gaming company the suffers a loss like this is really feeling the hurt, no matter which one it is. And, it affects ALL gamers, not just Sony supporters. as it has a flow-on affect within the industry as a whole.
Some need to stop being fanbois and start reading articles and using their heads instead of t...
Because it's about GAMING and NOT about fanboism mate, do try READING the article, there's' not one iota of fanboism in the article. and it WAS reported by Bloomberg (see link in article), which is where the source came from and the article written about from a gamers perspective. Read first - comment second.
Plus you have the attach rate at the moment of 8:1 for the 360, and rising, the PS3 and Wii share an attachment rate of 5.3, so parents (and gamers in general) get more games per console with the 360. And as we all know, the companies make far less off the hardware, most none (exception being profit for Nintendo and break even for 360) but make up the differences in software sales directly or through license fees from other publishers.
Actually they do, I was in the store (Game) the other day, and the "child" wanted the PS3, mother freaked at price, and child said "well I want a console and games mum, like my friends have" . . With that mum buys 360 as it was cheapest on the shelf at the time.
SO yes, "some kids" do ask for whatever is on offer. Best to have something, than nothing -
This should be great, and when you check it out, you'll see that the number of countries supporting it is huge . . . Gamers are human (well some are) and many are male (majority are) and we all face this possibility at some stage . . so as gamers, supporting it is a good idea, plus we get the chance to legitimately NOT worry about shaving 'some' of our face . .
