It NEEDS to in order to survive in todays market place.
As hard as it might be to understand, these companies do HAVE to make a profit, and continue to grow and expand. They have these funny things called "Shareholders' - -They actually supply the MONEY that allows companies to future-invest, without which, they would not be able to fund a single game to the tune of say $US20 - $US50 mil.
So you'll have to forgive them for wanting to become the biggest at what t...
Square Enix is a Publishing House and Development Studio/s . . It has dev studios under just like EA, Activision, Ubisoft, Activision etc do. So if they are subject to critisim for THEIR choices with THEIR 3rd party studios, what makes Square Enix any different, and therefore NOT subject to the same critisim.
Some treat Square like some awe-inspiring god-like figure. If it is a major company with sub companies under it, it is responsible for those companies - especially if it pub...
Unless you've been living in a cave, the world revolves around money, without it, companies can not grow, pay salaries, taxes, keep shareholders happy, which in turn pushes more working capital into the business in order for it to fund "future" products. Which is how the entertainment business works.
It works on a future product, not a product that is being used daily like a TV or car. A Company MUST look at income and how to maintain it. Just about EVERY major developer...
Yep, agree 100% . .it's a fact that many companies must worry about the $$ . you do know they are in it for the money, not just to make you (us) games for the love of it. They have stockholder to keep happy, tens of thousands of employees to feed and cloth as well as high salaries to maintain to keep the best ppl there.
So yes, it is about $$, but for a good reason, but also, yes, they have not been doing their best as they once did. And it is showing. Many treat the FF series as...
I'd agree with you there, but still, point is, a major studio and firm is - should I say, Has moved to the platform, and it could spell bad things for them if they lose the following they once had in Japan.
Japanese people as a nation are fickled at best when it comes to whatthey support. If they see a company 'deserting them" they usually do not take kindly to it. Look at Sony. Nindi has stayed true to its main supporters. The Japanese.
They (Japanese) have ma...
But that is NOT the POINT.
The point is, all Australians (adults) should have the right to chose what they buy and read/watch . not be TOLD what they can do and not do in a democratic society.
Irrespective of what we can do illegally, as we all will if we want it, the principle is that it has to be up to the public, those that elect governement officials into office.
This "man" has plavced himself ABOVE the role of the Prime Minister. It would ...
The Australian OFLC is so far behind the rest of the world it's a crying shame, and makes its self a laughing stock within the major world leaders. They still rate games as if they were for 'children' with the excuse they are protecting the children, when in fact, they already allow 'minors' to see both movies and games which have been rated as matur or adult (anything over 18) across the rest of the developed world.
Movies that are rate 18+ or 18 or even Mature in the US are rat...
I noticed that there was "supposed" to be a discussion on the issue this month, and seeing NO information has come out about it, seems it will not happen - yet again.
It's ludicrous that one many can hold an entire nation to ransom due to his beliefs, and he's not even the elected Prime Minister, just a simple State Attorney who 'seems' to have more power than the PM. It must make him feel especially important and powerful.
Totally agree, as that IS what the game IS about, speed and beating times. It's not a FPS or remotely like one, it's a running game where speed, agility, momentum are your allies, not big guys with guns, swords or fists . . .
FOr those who haven't mastered it yet, just keep at it, see if you can get through it faster that NaiNaiNai did . . I'm sure there are those that can, which is what it really is about, competition.
Here's the trick . . . When running two things to remember,
1) keep focused on where your are going, not two steps in front of you . . much like driving a car, your body/mind will take care of the rest. Keep your eyes looking for the next red, green or blue object well ahead, this helps you see a 'path', and you become focussed on that, not what is going on right in front of you.
2) Big thing is, NEVER look down, it's true of allthings to do with heights, if you loo...
It's actually NOT a FPS . It's billed as a FPP (First Person Perspective) as there is very little shooting involved nor is the aim of the game. Whereas other real FPS are just that First Person Viewed Shooters. Even DICE billed it as a FPP, not a FPS . .
This is a FPP running game. You can't have a parkour game and have a shooter at the same time, the two just don't go together, but it is done in one of the best FPP styles ever on a game, were a good 50% of your body can be view...
NOt really mate, as there are several reviewers who have logged around 20 hours in thegame. Re-running it, finding different ways, grabbing all the stachels, then workingon the time trials and the like.
Interestingly, those that spend longer in the game (the reviewers etc) have given it much higher scores (8-9.5 on some sites) as they have found it more challenging as they dug deeper into it, but on first glance they though Mehhh . .
Well the game can't be long by definition . .Can you imagine running from one end of the game to the other for 10 hours . . it's not feasible really.
You can't go back and re-run the thing, as the storyline doesn't allow it, nor is it designed to be that way really.
The aim of the game is to have you repeat the sections over and over, like they do in parkour, getting moves and times down further and further each time. Again, much like a racing game. You race one trac...
It's interestingto note that many revieweres are mixed about it, and it seems there's two distinct camps on the game.
Those how are perhaps used to their FPS style games, instant action and combat, and those looking at it from a new perspective. Many are broken into two age groups as well, with many younger gamers finding it 'difficult' to get to understand, yet older mid-ranged gamers "getting it" and really loving it.
There are several disarming moves not...
Personally I think this game warrants a higher score . . . as it sure does test ones limits and also brings a whole new fluid movement into the world of FPP games.
Well I must admit to playing some FIFA last week at the Champion Of Gaming event with EA and MS. And believe it or not, I actually liked it. It was very fluid and quite easy, by ones self that is. So it will be interesting to have a crack at this and see what the differences are for someone who has no skills in that department, and see which one is easiest to "pick-up-n-play" . .
Nah, not for me . . what is it with football anyhow . . . ? (jk)
Team Bondi (Aust dev studio) have (had) picked up Getaway, and it's now become La Noir which was originally multiplatform, then Sony Exclusive, and now touted as Multiplatform once again. Being such a small known game, it couldn't afford to just be a Sony (any platform) exclusive if they hope to get any money back on it globally.
They do say that Getaway is still a "possibility" of coming . .but then so is Duke nukem . .and we all know how long that has "been in th...
Well we won't talk about SParks Two adventures down forgetable lane will we. There are developers who should not stray from what they know best, but there are some, that with the right input from publishers and who TAKE direction, will and can make a difference.
Nutty as a two bob watch, one that has been dropped and then stood on . . you sure his handlers aren't on holidays somewhere, I think he needs his medication. (jk btw)
