And did you try spinning it around your head while you were at it . dahh.
READ any instructions on ANY dvd or disc based item and it will tell you NOT to move said item while in use, or it 'could cause irrevesable damage to the system" etc etc.
grab any dvd or even HDDVD player (be it HD DVD or Blu-Ray) and the instruction booklet will be the same.
It's called - dare I say in the industry "idiot proofing your product" . .because believe me...
Before Sony fans go Ape on this, try READING it first, it's not a Xbot PS3 bashing, it's a decent article looking at the NEED for all platforms if the industry is to survive and prosper.
I got this from XboxLIVE the other day and will spend a bit of time with it soon. It seems to have "something" in there, perhaps it's the Xbox Avatar's or something, and the ability of mixing with others off XboxLIVE etc . ..so long as it doesn't suffer from annoying ppl coming online and screwing things up.
I'll most likelt get it, but it'll be a while until i do, funds just don't allow it now.
I think publishers are used to the usual run of games to line up with the US Thanks Giving period which is typically the best sales season in Nth America. Seeing that a HUGE % of their sales come from that area, one can understand why they do.
But it is true the demographic has changed and continues to change, so their roll-out will also need to change. I know of several games t...
Yes it is gaminoz . .because it's SOny, nothing bad can happen - don't you know that by now . . sheesss . . get with the time . . Sny = fun at all times and Sony = rules over all things (sarc btw ppl)
Yes, quiet true, our market here in Australia is exceptionally small in relation the many other countries. We may have a "huge" geographical claim on the globe as a whole, but our population is small - 22-23 million. And of that, a small % are actual gamers, making the market for sale exceptionally small by any standards.
It's fine to say we have the highest gamers per-capita, but when that equate to less than 1% of the global market, in has no real effect on what publi...
I also hate XboxLIVE I'm afraid, as we seem to have breed a 'certain' type of gamer now we have the annonimity of online gaming or social networking.
I make sure I stay with those friends that I know, and if/when ppl send me a friends request, I let them know I'm NOT a huge LIVE user, and they are more than welcome to be on my friends list, but they probably won't catch me in any lobbies etc . .Which has many drop off the list, but helps keep those that simply want to honestly be...
I'm afraid that "I'm Over Christmas" . ..it's nothing like it used to be IMO . . .Still, it's nice to spend time with friends, but the $$ involved these days for presents makes it difficult for many families.
When games get brought into the equasion, it only makes things worse. No, they aren't TOO dear, it's just thatthere's way too MANY of them now to chose from. Game prices have remained relatively static for one and half decades. And in fact, we have cheaper games a...
Don't you just LOVE Christmas . . .not!
That is the trouble these days. Many gamers simply don't have the paitence or attention span to "get into" a game. They require instant action, gratification, and results. When a game requires you to spend time at it, to work towards achievements within the game world, they generally dismiss the game as being 'boring', too repeative (simply because you do have to do things as you would in RL) and not very action packed (yet they are if you approach them in the right fashion.

I agree about the "complete knob" thing . .standing )read sitting) in the loungeroom commanding your troops, calling out commands in alpha, tango lingo and a friend walks in, someone comes to the door . .hey . what the heck, it's "just a game" after all, and it's meant to be fun, which at times is often - well - embarrassing hehehe
The demo was nt a good representation of the final code, even seeing it at a Ubi event we could see that, which is the same code used for the demo. But the finished product is a great deal smoother and cleaner, trust me on that one.
Please do give it a rental for a few days, not a day, then see what you think
have you checked the review out, he says the commands and controls on the console version are brilliant . . . and from what I saw at the ubi-event earlier, they are a snack to master, and less cumbersome than the pC commands. hire it and give it a go if possible.
There's bugger all in the visual differences on the both versions from what I saw at Ubi offices. but the PC had to have a little more grunt in it, which is usual unfortunately.
Give it a whirl on rental, s...
I wasn't THAT keen on the game to be honest. Even seeing it first hand some weeks before the launch at a Ubi-event still didn't "do it for me" as they say.
But after reading this, I'm finding myself drawn to it for some odd reason. I'm not into the whole RTS thing, but this seems and sounds a great deal different, and might just have me a little bit more interested than I once thought.
Who else has played it at length yet?
notice that in one of the pics, it's tied to a christian gaming group using Halo 2/3 . . Violence and christians all in one.
It matters not what religion you are, or background you come from. There will always be violence of one form or another within it, just like the rest of society.
Tryingto distance yourself (thegroup) from violence only makes that group outto be hypocritical.. Whereas - ifthey accepted that yes, we do have it, and it is part of life in general...
Well we know where THAT originated from, don't we (cough -sonyfanboisim-cough) . . Heaven help any company that tries to stay in business by expanding their position instead of closing their doors. After all, they are in business to serve the Sony gamers, NOT stay in business . . . remember ! (sarc btw ppl)
But on topic, I'm just NOT into the whole OTT Japanese RPG thing and turn-based games. Just do not do it for me, no matter which dev/pub house puts their name to it. Even Endw...
I agree, many "games" irrespective of the genre' can be addictive, and parental intervention is definitely needed, which it seems you do, 10/10 for that.
But it seems that wouldn't raise the hair on many "good citizens" necks nearly enough as blaming a violent game for the obsessions of some teens, or like recently, blaming the shooting of a person stealing goods on the goods being stolen.
And it this case, an Xbox 360. .So who gets the blame, th...
Well it's not religion per-se' .. but those who tend to exploit it for their own gains. Namely the investment firm aiming to capalise on its investors, steering them in the direction they (the firm) wants, not what the investor might want.
SO it has little to do with religion as such, just how it is used as a tool, just as they do politians with the so-called "to save the children" tag line they attach to anything to do with censorship and games etc etc. Especially here...
Personally I had fun with the game when testing it out at a Ubi-day event. Found it entertaining and easy to pick up. . . . but after a short while, I did find it a tad repeatative, and at times somewhat frustrating re the various side missions.
The radar wasn't as accurate as it needed to be, and often missed the 'targets' by huge amounts, but according to the radar, they were quite close.
Trudging around became a chore and frustrating at times. I liked the game, a...
This is ONE game I've wanted from the get-go, and it looks like I won't be losing out when I do manage to grab it. Looks and sounds fantastic, and from all reports from those who are spending time on it, unlike those that tried to rush through it, it's giving them an experience they haven't had in a LONG long time.
Now that is what I like to hear.
BUt it's also interesting to note (see) that the game definitely has an older demographic, with many younger gamers ditch...
