Wht are so many ppl so over critical of developers. What you're seeing is pre-alpha build and early screens (I am getting some screens from the newer footage to compare btw).
It seems these days, yes, I'm old, so get over it, that many gamers expect way too much from developers even early in a games life cycle. They expect perfection the moment a game is mentioned, even if it's still years down the track from being on the stands.

Various sources have it coming out as Multiplatform . . . PS3, PC and 360. Games Radar has it listed also as MP as do several other sites. This is from news that came up in mid to late December 08 . . . not 06. The 'original' vid was first shown at the GDC in 2006, then it was also submitted at GameTrailers and other sites in mid 2007 (June if I'm not mistaken) . . and now a full HD version was released mid to late Dec 08 which clearly shows new screens, new footage, new actual scenes within ...
I did mate, but I wasn't the one that changed the channels . .I posted it as a Tip under PS3, PC and 360 . . . It is scheduled for a 4th Quarter 09 release, and that would fit in with a 3-4 yr production period nicely actually. SO my money is on it coming out.
They have been working on a new S.T.A.L.K.E.R game as well so there's more irons in the fire, but just not mentioned.

The First early footage was in fact from 2006's GC . .not 2007, so get your facts right if you're going to "report" something.

if you check the two vids out, the one at the end is the first one published in 2006 at the GC . . .then see the latest Alpha-Footage, you'll see w HUGE leap in quality and many new sections and gameplay additions.
It does look rather nice, although, having seen the images as larges a full rez 3500 wide, there is a few 'issues, but as it is pointed out, these are Pre-Alpha screens, not even beta screens.

Well it was based on READERS votes, not the Industries votes. So perhaps it shows that more ppl liked it than those that reviewed it . . . ?
They should have given it 1 - 2 more months in development, then it might have had a chance at 1) sales and 2) being better than it is . .. it had all the makings of being a great title, but now it will simply be another title that will never see a re-make or a sequel, and be a waste of 20 odd Million $$.
Well I voted for Far Cry 2, so what happened . . . . . Actually, I'm not that surprised, about the one at the number one spot. Given the fans it has, it's little wonder. Even if it isn't the best game out there, it still has the fan base.
Proving not the best games win in the end, just the one most liked.

I don't know where the heck you're getting your XboxLIVE from mate, but you're being ripped off majorly . .Even here in Australia it's a RRP of $AU79. and most sell it for less due to competition . . . which basically works out to around $AU0.22 cents a day for the year . .

If there was a game that could steer me to spending the huge amount (still $AU699 here) it is Heavy Rain. Have always said that, and it will have to wait until that game surfaces, which - could make it in 2009, then again, it's not uncommon for major games of this calibur to be shifted .. Cough cough Alan Wake, MGS4 etc.
