Couldn't agree with you more there mate.

It's a shame so many just see a word and go into auto pilot and begin rubbishing things simply because it's either from another platform, or because that is what others do.

God, if I had the $$ I'd grab a PS3 for two major games on the PS3 alone . . . Killzone 2 and Heavy Rain. (PS3 with one game and one controller here in Aust cost $700 . . . not money that grows on trees. While you can nab a 360 with several games for $300 i...

Wait until you see Stormrise . . . it's a huge leap forward in the RTS genre's as well. We'll be doing a Stormrise MicroSite over the next few days, so grab a look at that when it's uo, or check out other feature sites with details or the official website.

Not saying anything bad about Halo - so Halo-Fanbois, get down off the fence, it's okay.

Just saying that it's good to see different approaches to the genre', and from developers that have usually only been involve...

After having received info from SEGA the other day to make up a Stormrise Microsite, it could be one game that gives Halo Wars a decent run for its RTS money.

Before commenting on that statement Halo Nuts, check Stormrise out properly and with an open mind.

You do know what that is - don't you . .?

It has several advantages over HW's, especially the full 3D FPP (perspective) view point on the battle zones.

I think he means more that the RTS works as it should, given that it's on a console, rather than PC, which is the home of RTS's . . .not the game per-se' . . .

No NFS has ever had decent in-car views before, nor big name REAL world cars like the Pagani Zonda VF which is what the interior shot is from . . . details much like PGR, Race Pro, Drive and even GT . . so 10/10 for them for giving it a go and looking at the who game from different angles.

@ MK_Red :

Well that's the idea, to be different, and what is wrong with 3 different NFS games. One for each type of platform, and for different tastes. Different sections of the development studio will be working on each one, so they won't overlap.

What is it with some gamers these days.

You claim you want , new IP's or innovation, or no more sequels. Then, when a developer does just that, makes a break and delivers something different, you make claims...

Yes, by all means, let the old one die, but do NOT stop developers from making advances and taking a new direction. Games need that at times so they gain new life.

Look at Far Cry 2, a huge change from the earlier ones, and a welcomed change, Codies switch from Race Driver to GRID was a risk, but it was the right one, so much so, that other arcade racers are now following it, and using it as their benchmark.

If you read the article and the interview, you'll understand the new approach EA are taking . . pays to read such things so you're more informed mate . .worth the read and it'll answer most of your questions.

It's basically THREE different games, one for the Wii/DS called Need For Speed: Nitro (more arcade style, 1 called Need For Speed: Shift for the 360/ps3 which is much more race sim inclined and much more like GRID than it is any other previous NFS and the final one is Need F...

Most certainly is, and judging by the screen, they could be onto something.

True, and how many "Licensed" cars have we found in earlier NFS series . . Some, but limited. The image on the site is from the c.ockpit (stupid censor on this site) of a Pagani Zonda VF . . . A lovely piece of work. When was the last time ANYONE saw a Zonda in a NFS game - ?

Here's what they look like in real life . . check the image on the site for the interior shot in Shift . . . looks amazing actually.

They are looking at a new market and way of getting 3 different styles of games out to suit each demographic as best they can. Much better than having one game and trying to make it fit various platforms and lose its self in the process, which is what many of the earlier NFS series did.

Read the full interview at ...

Everything about the NFS series, especially the previous one Pro Street just reeked of failure. The early look of it seemed dull and very - dare I say - Japanese) . . Not a real "racer" as such.

This on the other hand looks completely different. None of the previous games had such detailed interiors such as racing c.ockpits. Or the detail in the streets etc.

Remember when Codies were first presenting GRID, everyone was bagging them saying it's simply anothe...

It was/is indeedy.

I have 2 more cars to get to have all, and still working my way through all the brackets. Anyone say they can finish such games in a few (several hours) is having themselves on big time. Just like Far Cry 2. It's HUGE. Codies do have some great games coming, and I think there's a GRID 2 on the cards by now, and an announcement might be later in the year.

This could prompt them to move a little faster, as it looks like this game is aimed squarly a...

If Need For Speed: Shift fronts anything like GRID, then Codemasters have some worrying to do.

The new look is a huge improvement and ideally they'll stay away from the custom flares, hoods and such, and concentrate on Racing. Leave the casual gaming for the Wii and the DS. With the real hardcore aimed for the PC.

Looking at the pic, it seems to be a very well detailed "race sim - or semi-sim like GRID is. If the damage modeling is like GRID, and the visual are...

Darksiders is on the list mate, check it, I'm 100% sure it's there, I added the box art myself.

Yes, it is a good time for GAMERS - period, so all those that complain and gripe, grow up, you have NEVER had it so good, trust me on that. I've been around longer than some of your fathers, and gaming has come such a LONG way, and more so in the last 3 years since 2005's online explosion.

Stop the whinning and start enjoying what you DO HAVE, before you don't have anythin...

COD6 (Modern Warfare 2) was announced not long after COD5 went Gold, and had been in the works several months after the release of COD4. It's how they do the turnaround. COD7 will be underway in no time so that it has a smaller window as well before release.

They announced it late last year actually.

Max Payne 3 has been announced, and was also discussed along the release of the movie, which I thought was very true to the earlier game actually. I try and go through a...

Do you see me knocking you for chosing a PS3, or a PC, NO, you'll never find me stating anything like that on any thread or post in N4G or other forums or boards.

You have the right to play whatever YOU want, as do I, and for whatever reasons. It's immature silly insults like that that keep fanwars going, when all we need to do is see we all love games - period.

I have a very limited budget, the 360 allows me to play the games I want, and can afford and IF I had th...

Well mate, guess what, you're saying the same thing about the PS 3 games, as a huge number of those games are also on the PS3 . . do think before putting mouth into gear, it'll stop you from sticking your foot in there instead.

Games are games, just because you do not like some, or only want to play on one cosole, does not mean others might like other games, and even have more than one console, for whatever reasons.

Stop being so silly about it, and simply accept tha...

I just read an excellent article on the game in EDGE (feb issue - UK) and it's shaping up to be a real blast.

But my concern is . . will newer gamers actually take the time to play such games as the beloved Dues Ex, Splinter Cell, Alan Wake, Velvet Assassin etc etc. Any game that requires time and effort . . Just a question, as it seems if it's too heady, most don't give it the time of day - sadly.
