well it's NOT just MS, so let's not make it about one platform - okay.
It's about companies finding a medium that works with the current two younger generations that basically only use DLC, use mobile communication, and rarely "own" a record or CD, let alone games in disc form.
So they (all of the companies) need to find a way of getting their goods out there in a way that meets everyones needs. If you were running a multi billion $ company, had share holde...
Love the apple logo mate, a few of us use the trust Apple Mac here. The site is run and built using one actually. It's amazing just how many Xboxers use Apple or have MacBooks, iPhones/iPod Touches etc.
Plus I was at two events, one MS and the other Sony, BOTH of which were using Apple Macbook Pros for their presentations and normal work . .funny that hehhehe
I think many will be in for a shock soon from apple, especially in the gaming arena . ..
Yes, our BB here is a joke really, as an example, I have a $AU119 PER MONTH bill for the use of just 20gig download, when it goes over that, it's a $AU150 price tag PER GIG ($1.50 per meg)
Now imagine downloading a fully blown Blu-Ray PS3 game and even a few movies off say XboxLIVE each month, not including any surfing, video watching etc etc.
While your guys in Nth America and UK/Eu get a really great service, even that service mentioned above isn't all that fast as...
Is there ANY mention of "exclusivity" in the article. you DID read the article - didn't you - oh, I see, you didn't bother to because you assumed it was about exclusives . . hmmm. .
The Watchmen is both a movie and games There are two games (read the article) which will ONLY be available via DLC through Steam (PC) XboxLIve (360 and PSN (PS3) . . .again, read the article . . shheezzes.
@ PirateThom :
The header mentions exclusive content for ...
I think YOUR avatar suits YOU very much mate .. .!!
They did give away a nice cap and some sunscreen, 30 mins before the event finished. Seems they got that a bit mixed up, it should have been within the first 30 mins of the event, not the last. . funny that.
Actually, it wasn't that bad, not being a music buff, but I could "understand" the music and lyrics . . and wasn't the usual stupid rap-crap stuff that just about every artist pushes these days.
Yes, I can say looking over he side and into that cool cool inviting water was VERY tempting indeed - UNTIL you realized that a 2 .5 meter Bull Shark just chomped off the arm and leg of a professional naval diver the week before in the SAME location . . has you step back from the side very ver quickly.
One thing MS does is spend money. And it supports it's 3rd and 2nd party developers and publishers well.
It runs and has events for the different games and makes sure ppl in the general public know about its games.
What it doesn't do is understand much about how or why it needs to do it and how to best do it.
While we were there, barely 20 ppl played with or looked at the Xbox 360 marque with 4 xbox 360's set up for Lips, GH:WT, Arcade games and Scene I...
I think the game will be a cross between Pure and Rage more than anything else. Much more detailed and elaborate that Pure of course, but have that added bonus of more freedom like Rage, plus a small storyline attached - hopefully.
I can see the possibilities of the Open WOrld, especially now that NFS will be doing the very same thing with NFS: Online World on the PC only.
The game looks amazing actually. I was offered the XBLA token to do the review and passed it on, should have had a go myself actually.
I also think Stormrise is going to rock a few boats when it floats onto the shelves soon.
I've had assets and videos from Sega, and it's bloody amazing, especially with the 3rd person on he deck viewpoint. Much more realistic and requires on the spot thinking.
Not saying Halo Wars is bad or anything like that. But Stormrise will surprise many ppl and it will be on the GOTY awards listing as a nomination.
We should have a dedicated page up on it soon with...
A great Aussie site t0 add to your list of good reviews people.
Great to see you on here mate, excellent show for anyone wanting some xbox news, humour, information, with an authentic Aussie flare.
Thanks mate, but i do have to disagree in part.
Yes, "some" xbox site do rubbish the Sony platform, and I dislike those site greatly, but my "experience" of those that not only work for the site, but the bulk of the ppl that comment on our site enjoy any platforms games.
For us, that is a prerequisite for anyone want ting write for the site. Plus those we discuss things with 'generally' have several platforms which can include the PS3, PSP, PS2 e...
Actually mate, we gave it a 9.8/10 . . and we do not score above that on any game, no matter what the platform or game. You'll find the review here ( http://oxcgn.com/2008/06/21... if anyone is interested.
We've just spent this week at several events here in AUst, Saturday was the Killzone 2 Launch day with Sony with some great hands -on gameplay ( ...
Well"actually" we do NOT use the term Next-Gen for This-gen consoles. Our term for that use would be for the x720 and the Wii 2 and the PS4, two of which are under development at the moment, with the third still unconfirmed.
He's using the term Next0=-gen in the form of saying What arrived . . what arrived was "next-gen" . . . Meaning the TERM Next-Gen . . and the consoles that accompanied it. Make sense . . .
It's like stating a term that was us...
The old need for fans are going to be disappointed with the next console iteration, because they are going for the simulation crowd...
If they want their arcade hit they are going to have to go to the Wii (NFS: Nitro) or the PC (NFS: World Online).
Wrong, not a bad use of the words . .a bad 'comprehension' of the article . . if you do some 'reading' on the article's author, he's written many a university paper, writes for x360 mag, is a historian and has submitted many 'papers' on various matter. So I "think" he has a good grasp of the English language.
The article is looking at how 'some' have been affect, in different ways, both positive and negative, from the move from the older generation to the Newer Generati...
"his would mean i would have to delete games stored on my hard drive or have more than one hard dive or have a real big expensive hard drive.
Games are going to get bigger and bigger not smaller and smaller. I heard Xbox360 is already struggling with the size of games on there DVDs (to expensive)"
Actually, by having a limited size, developers are being forced to make better games, use memory and space more effectively, and be pro-active in regards to how they bui...
