To be serious and honest, This gen I can not afford to buy the volumn of games I did last gen. I had in excess of 180 plus 1st-gen xbox games, still have over 80 of them, but my 360 library is just around 45, and have NOT purchased a single game since October last year due to prices being so high here.
If they want more sales, they need to reduce the retail prices to an affordable level in line with the rest of the world. If the gov subsidised the local dev and publishers with ta...
totally agree with you there, but on a completely different topic though.
His government want to TAX the sheep and cattle farmers in Australia for the methane their stock produce!!!
$AU50 per tonne which mates farming animals basically totally unprofitable. So a major farm or wool farm would be hit with Millions in taxes from methane gas emissions, and not get anywhere near that back on wool or meat sales.
Why not make the vehicle manafacturers do some...
I personally think many gamers are desensitized to what we term as "horror" or Horror Survival . . .
I was in a room with around 10 other media guys playing this a few weeks ago, final code delivered from Capcom for just 4 days use, then had to be returned to their offices in Japan.
Every media guy there was surprised, thrilled, scared and a few times even jumped and the old F-word popping out here and there, so was shocked and startled . . All the things...
Or the world floods and the Polar bears eat us . . But yes, spending does help even in bad times. It's when everyone hangs onto money that things get grim.
The stimulus packages do help a great deal. It would be great though if the various governments helped the gaming industry out a little more, like Canada does especially.
But buying games can be hard for some, especially at the price they ask for them here in Australia . .they start at $99.95 and go to $119.95 . ....
Not suree I agree with the Not so scary bit in the review . .
As when I was at a recent early media hands-on, even several of the IGN guys were jumping out of their seats from the scares they were encountering.
I'm looking forward to just popping this into the 360 and settling back for a few days and playing it.
I'm not one of the types that sees just how fast I can through a game. I personally like to do this thing called "enjoy" them . . not...
I loved Left4Dead, even though I don't like zombies per-se, the game was excellent with them, as it really did match the storyline. Resi 5's undead sure can scare the pants off you at times.
While at a recent closed doors THQ hands-on, many game vet jumped and squelled as the 'undead' crowded around trying to bite your bloody head off. and that Excecutioner . . .omg .. scary as.
I like Capcoms "they aren't zombies" . . when they are sort of 'undead' . . so what constitutes a "zombie then" . . someone who is alive but not dead (undead) . . or dead, but not alive (unAlive).
I'm glad Far Cry 2 didn't go down the old well and truly trodden zombie path. I would not have even considered the game if it had. And I think many had the same thoughts.
Personally I could do without the whole zombie thing in just about every game. Su...
Not quite sure what you mean there . . .but considering the media only get unfinished code, and games AFTER they have been released so they can do reviews on them, I don't see why they should have to pay. Thing is, most small sites don't even get games from publishers, and have to use their own games as review copies.
So in effect, they do pay for them.
But they do NOT get the great collectors editions and promo gear the gamers now get. Publishers worked out that the...
WHy do ppl like you even bother commenting . . .
Many gamers 'these days' (god that makes me sound old - has a look in the mirror - bugger - I AM old).
As before say 2004/3 Collectors Editions were just that, hard to get and basically Collectors Pieces.
Things like this were actually given to the Media, very elaborate sets some even bigger and better than Halo 3's Legendary edition.
The publishers lavished gifts on the media like it was going out of fashion.
But now, the media get's discs ...
I "think" it was $210 - $230 actually?, as the normal one was $109.95, the Limited edition was $139? and the Collectors was $159 and the Legendary was $230 ?? I think there were 4 incl the standard edition - could be wrong, but there were at least 3 editions.
I got the standard, the Limited and the Legendary issues of the Halo 3 series, plus I have the earlier ones as well - naturally.
The Prey Collectors Edition, only available in the US/Canada (where I go...
Personally I don't mind any collectors edition. Some are definitely worth every sent, some - well - not worth a cent.
While I certainly would not have paid the $AU169.95 rrp, I would have shelled out around the $139.95 mark.
We had a blast at the THQ Street Fighter IV Media Knockout Night recently prior to the games release. Using the new Madcatz special Street Fighter IV Fight Stick Pads as well as the normal 360 controllers. Many found the controller much more fluid, perhaps it was because they were used to it.
But even in the semi finals, the two players used the 360 controllers rather than the fight pads . .interesting.
The game is great at what it does, I'm not a super keen fan of ...
I'm afraid you're barking up the wrong tree there mate, Gwave wasn't in the other article if I recall . . . so you might be thinking of someone else.
I agree with him in part, but not in others. Fanbois do do themselves a disservice by complaining about stupid things such as the no co-op in Killzone 2 . . as if you do look at the game play, it really isn't aimed at it.
Much like Black definitely was not built for co-op, yet everyone screamed and dissed the game bec...
If youcan grab them, do so, you'll understand the real basis behind the game, any game for that matter. As an interactive medium can NEVER give you the same depth and detail as a book can.
The sad thing is, that many find reading boring or tedious these days, yet by not doing so, they miss out of the nuts of the whole game/series.
DO get them if you can, you'll be glad you did.
True, did you READ the article at ALL . .
It's not an ATTACK, it's looking at what could have been done in an intelligent manner, not like some crying fanboi who's lost his gamepad.
If gamers do not critique the games given to them, especially those given the task of reviewing and testing them, then how in gods name do you think any developer will improve upon what they have delivered . . ?
They won't.
Simply because they have not been given...
Well it IS getting tired and borig, every second game, or more to the point, 4/5 games are the usual Yeah, America saves the day sort of thing and there's no real meat in them. At least when games come around that involve other countries, they ad spice and flavour to old styles, even if it is in the same genre or field.
But, then you get the clowns that say "yeah man, hate the russian accent, what are they trying to prove - thing is, they are talking about a Russian dev buil...
Actually, there's a great article on Gameindustry news from Ensemble about how THEY were the ones that created their downfall, as they said, they were their own worst enemy. I'll see if I can dig up the link.
Here it is, moreover or to the point, a victim of their own success. So now that they have started up TWO new studios, they are not going to follow the same line and ideally do things differently. One of the studios I believe is working on the next Halo War, so it will be i...
I'd have to admit, the ho-hum American Hero thing wears thing after awhile. So a new approach, along the lines of the original books would be a great deal more refreshing.
Then why play it, if you have played it that is . .probably not, or if you have, you've probably only given it 10 mins and then dumped the game.
More fool you.
